It's £2/night so I won't complain so much. Be careful about the bedbugs though. Staff puts in a good effort but needs to do more when it comes to cleanliness and customer care. You'll meet some amazing fellow backpackers in the hostel no doubt. Food is slightly expensive but okay. Better get a Cambodian sim for internet.

Very well priced considering there is AC Wi-Fi and a light but made to order breakfast. Would recommend.

Very clean and helpful staff and the central location of the hostel is a plus.

Surprisingly good stay! Very good value hostel, the quality of room is low (no air con, hot water etc) but for $2 you cannot complain. What makes the hostel great is it's location and friendly staff. Had a good stay, thanks.

The hosts here are awesome. I’m giving this 5 stars just because of them. They’re hilarious and joke around with you but also give great advice on what to do, how to get around, and what to stay away from. They’re super laid back and don’t really get bothered much. It’s a family run place so there are kids running around, it’s pretty authentic feeling. And it’s close to the fish market which has great bbq at night.

Beautiful experience with this place. They know Siem Reap like the back of their hand and where really helpful with any questions we had about Siem Reap. The place is secure, really nice security. The food and drinking is great and cheap for tourists. The rooms are clean and simple. They have activities and plans in advance to make your stay more pleasant. And, as a plus… They make a great contribution to the Cambodian community by having different types of charity ideas. Greatings from Mexico and I hope you enjoy your stay as much as we did.

Simple hostel nice beds in dorm cheap and good rooftop chilling area.

The happy pizza is the best! This is a hostel that feature bar and restaurant downstair and it is mainly for foreign backpacker who is on a shoestring budget. The atmosphere is really welcoming and friendly. This is the best place for foreign travel who is looking for an affordable place to say and meet up with people. They offer variety of services such as bus boat ticket, visa extension, day tours etc.

It was ok, nothing special but not so bad. You can get better value rooms, but you can also get a lot worse. I got attacked by bedbugs one time I stayed here, they itch like crazy for days after … so I have come back to drop my rating a little more.

It was no 5 star resort, but its definitely a cool place to stay. Staff is really friendly and helped me as needed. They play some pretty goos music and have a pool table free of charge. Would definitely recommend staying in if your willing to stay in a bit more rugged of a dorm.

Not a bad place. Yes the staff could smile a little more, the dorms are on the 4th and 5th floor and the Wi-Fi is a little slow. However we paid 2.50 per bed for two people and you really can't complain with that price. Location is also very good.

If I can give less than one star I will. The worse hostel ever. N I travel in different contry For several times. Netherlands, France, Belgium, Australia, Vietnam. The hostel is really dirty. The staff are really rude, unpolite, just looking For your money n not about your staying there Good. For just a misunderstanding between me n the owner about the A/C they become really aggressive try to come inside of our room with violence. At one point I said to myself (For let this situation finish) give them the money (3$ of a/c For just a couple of hours that we understand was included in the price But wasnt — this was thè BIG misunderstanding) n the owner take MY hand (hurting me) n he rippped in two parts MY money. The girl Close to him make a gun sign in us like a real threat. I really raccommand to not go there absolutely. Position nothing special n the price are not reasonable at all.

Actually the worst hostel I've stayed in. The owners are blatantly writing fake reviews on Google and Hostelworld too — lots of people from England/Australia/Canada/USA writing 5/5 reviews in completely broken english! Bare concrete floors, sinks coming away from the walls, 1 ceiling fan for a room full of 12 people, ripped and dirty bedding, no locks on door with staff members just wandering in at any time, rubbish lining the corridors. The owner is friendly to everyone who visits, but this doesn't make up for how bad this place is and all the fake reviews!

I've been to this hostel twice on my trip to Cambodia. The hostel is cheap, clean and the owner and his wife are so kind. They remembered us when we came back. They really care about their guest. The food is good, and there is a possibility for a nice little ambiance/party at night if you want. Worth getting the privare room since it's so cheap. I would come back.

Only went for the food. Does a pretty good full English breakfast. Nice quiet atmosphere and the staff are friendly enough. Good spot for some British/Irish food.

For backpackers hipsters, medium heavy environment.

Rude staff and inadequate facilities. Plus the kitchen/restaurant is waaayyy overpriced. No hot showers and the Wi-Fi only worked on some days. If you only need a place to stay for a night in P. P. Then this place might suffice. I wouldn't pay anything over $4 for a six-person dorm room bed.

Good stay for cheap money. Perfect location. Clean. Helpful staff (most of them can speak English). They can also help you with booking tours and busses. I stayed in the double bedroom with fan at the top of the building and it was quite big and comfortable. Only negative thing is the lack of lift… So there are quite few steps to reach the last floor.

Prices are ok. The bathroom needs work though. Because of its central location pretty ideal to g9 anywhere u want. Like most guesthouses closes its doors around midnight and is a bit hard to find.

Worst experience in my life! The dirtiest place in all not very clean Phnom Penh. The staff is so rude that it really shocks. They cancel your booking and kick you out with your baggage on the street in the middle of the night, because in the bar a drunken stallion wants to rent a room for getting sex with a prostitute. All these ratings and feedbacks to the owner mean nothing, because in reality the staff is engaged in criminal affairs. I'll not advice this place even to an enemy. Bypass it!

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The value for money is good and it has meals at good prices.

Pretty clean and friendly staff. Convenient walk to dirty old sailor and other chilled places. All the tuktuk drivers know the place too.

Cheap but crapy and not friendly people.

Had to pay USD5 as a deposite for a towel and it has to be used for as long as I stayed there. Cant be changed with a new clean towel each day. No room/bed housekeeping. Cant control air cond temperature (was hot in the room at times and had to just deal with it). provided a very low hospitality and was very rude. They did maintenance work on a broken window pane in the room while all of us were still in. It was so uncomfortable in the congested room with the workers and thier tools not to mention they made the floor so dirty and we had to wear slippers. They did not explain or even appologize for the inconvinience caused. It appeared as if they just dont care about the customer. my roommate even complained to us the he was forced to pay USD50 for `breaking the window` when all he did was just trying to close it. He said that he just cant talk to them and they never listened to him and took the money out of him.

The place is so bad, not recommended. I booked for 3 usd pee night, with No aircond, and towel you have to pay extra 5 usd.

Nice and quiet place, kind staff, good meals! You can book bus, plane and boat tickets, well organized and supergentle! Definitely worth it!

The price is interesting but the rooms are quite dirty and provided with poor quality furnitures. You have to pay for everthing in extra like airconditionning, … The place is really noisy especially by night. The rooftop bar/restaurant feels confortable but I had the worst breakfast of my Phnom Penh stay there. Indeed, everything tasted dry and flavourless. I would not recommend this place.

Little to offer. Poor cleaning.

A very good welcome to the reception, the young man likes exchanged and communicated with these guests. We rented a scooter from the hostel, everything is well-held. In the dormitory the bathroom is with hot water, the bedding is comfortable by cons the sheets, duvets and pillows are not changed we stayed 3 nights in dormitory and saw people scrolling and sleeping in the sheets of previous occupants. Another small negative point is the person who cleans and "redone" the beds enters the room at 8AM or 9am to start working, while the check out is at 11:45. The rates remain really correct for the services.

Really cheap hostel. Rooms are wide and comfortable. Each bed has its own plug and light as well as a locker. It has a nice rooftop! There is also a bar, and you can buy bus tickets here too. They keep the place clean. It has good location.

Cheap hostel in the center of Phnom Penh. If you want to sightseeing around the city I recommended to stay in here, because it is near from mini market and other public facilities.

They tell you they're nice rooms and then give you a ghetto walk in closet with the shower and toilet on top of one another. No ventilation; no a/c. This place will is a dump. Ignore there website!

Nice place, cheap and comfortable rooms. The host is pretty arrengeante but I think you can find still find some best deals elsewhere (for example he offers a tuck tuck ride to the airport for 7 dollars which is definitely not the best price)

Awful place to stay. They doen't even deserve one star. Most of the staff have a gangsters attitude. Unhelpful and rude. We couldn't have a tab at the bar. They refuse us to pay 2 beers at $1.50 with a 2$ note so we couldn't drink there. We got told to have smaller change. We fell so uncomfortable. Not worth the money. Would not recommend my worst ennemy to stay there.

Dreadful. Got a double room and there were bed bugs and ants all over the mattress which was filthy and clearly had not been cleaned since the night before. Bathroom was an absolute state (eg no toilet seat, generally rank). Girl behind the counter was rude and offered little in the way of information (eg maps) or local knowledge. The guy was much better and I suppose it is very cheap so you get what you pay for. But if you have $3/4 more to spend a night do yourself a favour and go elsewhere…

The owner is friendly, but he was a bit pushy with some of the tours and services they offered. This would have been fine if it hadn't been for the damp in the private room we were staying in, and the lack of sound proofing. The bed was clean, but the rest of the room wasn't too clean, and the decor of the place was a bit messy.

Cannot find a fault in this hostel especially at the rate at which you get a bed in a dorm here. Prefer the AC dorm over the fan one for an extra dollar as it is extremely hot and humid in PP. The people at the counter are super helpful. Food is not the greatest but very reasonably priced. It's very centrally located and Wi-Fi is accessible in all floors. The only drawback is that the AC dorm is on third floor. You need to climb stairs.

L'hôtel ne possède pas de réceptionniste 24/7 contrairement à ce qui est annoncé, nous avons dû payer ce que nous avions déjà avancé en ligne et nous avons dans l'ensemble été traité suspicieusement tout le long de notre séjour. Les prix sont cependant très bas et l'emplacement excellent.

Cheapest option is a 3$ dorm which is decent. 4$ for a 6 pax dorm with private fans.

I have stayed at lots of hostels in this part of the world. This one is awful in almost every way. No hot water. Gotta pay for AC that barely functions. Towels? $5. Lockers? None in your room. Paid ones behind the desk. No hooks in the bathrooms; good luck with that shower. 8 bunks in a room that should fit 6. Snarky staff. They were going for some kind of edgy graffiti look for decor but it seriously just looks like you're in a seedy bar or meth house. Loud construction at 7 am. Staff walk into the room at all hours to do whatever they please (loudly cleaning the toilet at 10:30 pm when the lights are already out? Why not). No outside food or drink in the common area. Pressure to buy their overpriced food.

Good location. Cheap rates with no ac rates available with ac. 420 friendly they have pizza edibles to shakes whatever you need they have. check out is 1200pm.

This accommodation was fantastic for the price. Excellent location and kept clean. The staff were super friendly and helpful too. The food was not great but you are next to lots of other places to eat. The website says Wi-Fi is only in common areas but they have actually installed it for all floors so it is accessible in the rooms too.

Very friendly and helpful staff who will give you advice if needed. It's like a relaxed restaurant with a pool table where you can chill and eventually get some louder tunes in the evening with backpackers and locals. Very nice happy pizza as well! ;) and with 4$/night for the dorm w/ AC good price.

The place disgusting enough that after checked in into 10 mins I saw 2 rats n cocoraches biting people's backpack n of course came to mine as well. End up I carry my 90L backpack to the top bed to share bed with. Don't mention about the service please, it is the worse ever one after my 2744 days of travel around the world.

Amazing place great people, Alex is the man! Helped us organise everything in Phnom Penh; killing fields, genocide museum, shooting rpgs and then went over and above and gave us a contact for his friend in siem reap with free pickup. And organised day tours around the area for us. 10/10 would stay again, everything is happy at the happy house.

Dorm room is great, big beds, lots of space and your own safe. Basic room for two, however, is quite small, the blanket is super super small and there is no window.

Very cheap hostel, but you get what you pay for. The bathrooms are so dirty we preferred to go to cafes and avoid showering — and we had a private bathroom. The air is hot and moist with a sweet perfume that would be frowned upon by budget prostitution. On the plus side it is centrally located and they can arrange day tours and outbound transport.

Excellent location, friendly staff. Wld be great if washroom can improve more, such as installing a cloth hanger, and some spare rolls of toilet paper.

The floor was disgusting — worse than the street outside. Beds weren't particularly clean and the staff were unhelpful. Terrible hostel even for the price — Dynsey over the road offered a much better experience for a small amount extra.

What a great staff here; to help me get my expensive camera battery back which I forgot, by sending it to Ho Chi Minh City using a bus company. Thank you so much! Most hostels would have not gone to such trouble. Happy House is located close to the river, bars and restaurants. Clean, comfortable beds, restaurant with pool table, book tours and bus tickets here. Good place to socialize and meet people.

Nice staff good english, dorm with ac clean and comfy, clean and change sheets everyday, we are paying 4$ you can find cheaper place in this area but save 1 dollar at max and have really bad accomodation.

GOOD POINTS: — Fan room dorm-bed on 3rd floor was OK and not extremely noisy — The price was good given the good location — Lots of people there BAD POINTS — Staff: I've traveled 8 month and this is the FIRST time I felt like the staff hated me for no particular reason!? They didn't let me eat MY apple even though I wanted to buy the rest of my breakfast (tea, eggs and all) in their restaurant (I was forced to go eat it in the streets). They didn't help me when I asked about taxi prices, about scooter rental prices and such things. They REFUSED to hide my valuables in a locker during the day I checked out (I had 6 hours span before having to catch a bus). They didn't let me have beers on my "tab" even though everyone else did… Horrible vibe and racial tension from the staff (I'm caucasian & Swiss-Canadian, go figure…) — Barely allowed to sit at the restaurant (lounge area) if you're not consuming something from them, even though you're spending nights there — Shower heater was not working, so cold shower everytime — Threaten to lock you out (even though should have 24/7 reception) when you're having a drink in front on the hostel, around midnight… — I would never go there again… Really, staff there don't deserve it.

Good price in Phnom Penh. If you sleep in top floor you won't have any problem with music of ground floor, but you should to go upstairs for three levels with your backpack. Well located. Near Riverside. Is a good option for budget travelling.

IMPORTANT TO KNOW! OWNER DIDN'T WANT TO GIVE US OUR PASSPORTS BACK! Me and my friend book the 19 happy house for 2 night. The owner told us after the first night that we have to leave because his cousin is coming and need a bed. When we wanted to pay we noticed that he tried to charge food and drinks that we never had. Instead of booking or at least recommending us another hostel he even tried to cheat on us. Arguing about it made everything worse because in the end he didn't want to give us our passports back. He even tried to get physical can pushed me out of the hostel (me as a girl). I took another hour until finally we had our passports back…

Wow what incredible staff. Rock seems to generally care you have a great time in his city. Friendly people. Nothing but great things to say.

The place does not provide with necessary items like toilet paper, the cleaning is scarce, in shared rooms do not have lockers, only in reception and you ask for a deposit of guarantee by the key of 10 dollars and lueho you return only 5. Help you with the tickets of buses, but will sell you the tourist, and in fact you are sent out on local lack honesty.

This one was booked so we went to the other one (happy backpackers II). It was brutal. Don't bother unless your phucks given are non existent. Walls floors and doorways were very dirty. Functionality-wise. The private room we saw was legit. As for cleanliness and give-a-chits for the guests comfort (based on first impressions). Not so much there. But if you're on budget, sleeping alone, don't care about ac or anything special and can sleep anywhere hit the second one up. It's on 13 St. This location we could not get into unfortunately maybe it is much better! Good luck! :)
