Villa Budget Hostel Copacabana Hostel

Excellent place and the staff very cool! Super recommended. Good location, clean and tidy. Breakfast was very good. I just stressed that they should have the box in the rooms with more security although we didn't see anything unsafe. We were in room of 4 people and with whom we shared we had no problems. I don't know how it will be in high seasons when there are more people. Conclusion. We had a great fun!

One of the worst hostels we've stayed in during our time in South America and possibly the whole trip. *constant cigarette smell and smoke *very uncomfortable beds *barely functional kitchen *mostly unhelpful staff apart from Christian (I believe his name was — pony tail and glasses). This is a big busy hostel situated on a busy street in the Copacabana area. Its close to many shops, restaurants and a metro stop. We booked through hostel world, a twin room, when we arrived they put us in a small room with bunk beds, not the usual twin room you would expect. The mattress and pillow were plastic and very uncomfortable. I can only describe the mattress like a 4 inch crash mat in gymnastics. I could feel the metal bars of the frame under the mattress. I had to ask at reception for another mattress, the old guy wasn't very understanding or helpful, he said that's just how it is. 'Luckily' for me the manager was there at the time and told the guy I could have another mattress. There were many smokers here and the horrible stench of smoke gets everywhere, you could smell it throughout the building, kitchen, hallways and bathrooms, even in the room until we shut the windows but then it gets very warm. If you want the A/C on, one of the staff brings a remote to the room and turns it on, then you have to go and ask when you want it turning off.

We stayed the first week of April. Super recommendable this hostel. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The place is clean and the breakfast quite complete. The only thing you don't have but you can add it one is ham and cheese. Anyway, by not being limited in terms of what it served you, it's good!
On the date we were inside everything was quiet and the people with whom we were sharing the place very nice. The staff were very friendly and helpful!

I stayed 7 days this place, it is very picturesque but you restrict everything. The air conditioning schedule for example is 21:30 to 7:00HS. The schedule for cooking at night is until 21:30HS because they close the gas in the kitchen. And those who serve there are not very kind.

Worst hostel experience ever! Front Office staff have very bad attitude and were really rude to guests! Never seen something like this before and I'm travelling a lot also in South America. Price ist very low but even for this little money it is a bad choice in my eyes, there are ways better hostels in Rio. Only good point is the location close to the subway station.
At the end they were not even able to carry out my departure transfer to the airport which I booked in advance. After waiting 20min they just told me "the car is broken"! Laughable! Not even apologized! Do not recommend this hotel for anyone sorry.

Cute. Good breakfast. Shared bathrooms outside the room and separated which makes it more dynamic. Good location near Copacabana Beach and one block from Metro.

Hostel very little stocked for so many people. A small kitchen, a refrigerator for many people. The food disappeared and the solution of the Hostel to take charge was to put the next day a sign saying that it was not responsible. Poorly organized rules that were not fulfilled. Not very good attention. The common spaces were uncomfortable. The dining room was very small for everyone.

I was between January 13 and 18, 2018 and had a fantastic time. The staff is very attentive and the price is affordable. Breakfast is available in the morning and dispensers are available.
The ground floor patio and kitchen facilitate contact and interaction between guests, making it ideal for those who are introverted or traveling alone and want to make new friends.
Its weak point is the kitchen, which is not well equipped (sometimes it is difficult to get cups, or utensils). Another weak point is the Wi-Fi, which does not reach all the rooms and you have to move to pick up the signal.
It is clean, has a good location and is safe.

The atmosphere is very strange at the beginning and in the night perfect. At the beginning we've problems from the booking by myself mistake but they solved it very fast and good, the stuff is very very friendly. The facilities are okay but without care, the bathroom too small, my legs can't fit when I sit. Wi-Fi need to be more good, doesn't work fine. Breakfast is okay, you have cereals, fruits (watermelon), milk coffee and bread. If you want fun and go out with good group, this is your hostel.

Poor attention, poor breakfast, no cheese, no ham, no nothing for the bread, I wanted to collect the towel to take a shower, the internet does not arrive almost anywhere, when it rains there is not enough roof on the patio (because there is the internet), and the drains of the patio covered are floods everything, the only thing good is the location but it has plenty of hostels out there, zero recommended.

Super the hostel, the attention of Tom and all the staff is excellent. It Is necessary to improve the cabins because they are quite weak. Super the kind of people you can meet.

Good Price! I stayed at the hostel for 7 days in a mixed room of 4 people. I Did Not get the one I had booked for the page which was a little bigger and more comfortable. The staff is friendly (except for some exceptions that never greeted you) The Wi-Fi is horrible, it almost doesn't work. You Have to wear padlocks because the entrance doors and the balconies are always open and any person enters.

— Noise, noise and loud noises. Beds are some of the least comfortable we had on the trip. The staff didn't enforce the quiet after 10pm rule written eveywhere. Even when I complained to staff and asked guests to be quiet. Rooms face a courtyard where everyone hangs out until the early hours. Kitchen fridge was so small that it was unuseable, clean staff cleaned it they need at least 1 more. Kitchen is very poorly equipped, had to beg staff to get knives, chopping board etc. Kitchen is closed until 1pm. + Great location near beach and a minute from the metro. Staff friendly but do nothing about noise. Baggage storage for free. Breakfast is good for a hostel, 2 fruit, tea, coffee, a cake and bread. Cold filtered water.

Messy, Wi-Fi lousy and breakfast poor quality.
Only the location is good but the acoustics is very bad if you are light sleepy the cars will not let you sleep.

Everything was good! Although the bathrooms are a bit on the small side, we really liked the warmth and atmosphere of the place. Would totally stay again.

Trouble with our reservation. Holes in our bedsheets. Wifi was out for 2 days. There were mosquitos everywhere and they literally laughed in our face when we asked for bug spray for our room because both our door and window were broken and wouldn't close. Wouldn't stay again.
