Bamboo Rio Hostel Hostel

The room extremely small, 12 people in a very small space! It looked like a jail all crowded, it Was inhuman to be able to be there, the bathrooms are small, shared spaces also. The only good thing of the place is the staff, all very attentive and helpful, always willing.

Bamboo Hostel is super well located in a central area close to Copacabana beach. Staff is overall friendly.
That being said, our stay at the Hostel was not the best. From huge noise in the evening preventing us from resting to a super old and fragile stairway that put all the guests in danger, I have no other option but to give feedback for improvement and information.
Volunteers and members of the staff please do not keep withc huge, noisy parties that go on till after 23h and close to midnight. In fact, I was very disappointed and angry when even immediately after I had personally requested to make less noise, there was even more noise and party than usual at 23h30! There is something fundamentally wrong here that needs to be addressed as this is not a way to treat your guests.

Friendly, helpful staff. Most speak English fluently. The hostel has a pool and a bar which also cooks cheap meals for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Rooms were comfortable but lacked power points and there was limited storage for bags in rooms.

Bamboo is without doubt the best hostel of Rio de Janeiro! The rooms are very nice and comfortable, and the ambiance is exceptional… one of my favorite things is the pool and the bar Haha, I definitely felt at home.

Bamboo is an amazing hostel well located in Copacabana and with an amazing staff (Kamilla, Juliana, João Vitor, Max, Fabien…). Everyone I met was so nice to me. I really recommend this place to stay.

Bamboo hostel is a great place! Perfect location, 5minutes to Copacabana plaia There is a 24/7 reception, very Nice staff especially: ELENA, ANGELO, JOAO, MAX, BRIAN AND KAMILLA and last but not least MANUELA! Muito obrigada por tudo! Till we meet again.

Very nice place, it is economical, and offers breakfast with the lodging, (although it depended on the rooms in which you stay the level of the breakfast) after certain timetables offer caipirinhas free, you can buy the lunch in the place (although it is not worth it because they are The same prices as the most touristy locals) has pool, very clean bathrooms with hot shower (although not necessary because it is very hot)

Nice hostel, staff always happy to help. Pieces always clean and rich breakfast.

Starting with the fact that this is a hostel, not a HOTEL and they have a pool… you're already on the right track. The price is comparable to most of the other hostels in the area with way more to offer. The first night I was there, they kicked off the mood and got things going with a fantastic barbecue — and though it was R $15, it was completely worth it because it included everything that a great Brazilian BBQ would (from garlic bread to grilled beef, chicken, and sausage, it was all there and beyond delicious). The staff is helpful and kind and the hostel is wonderfully set up and prepared to sell you anything that you might need. From the typical chips, soda, tours, and parties most hostels sell to deodorant and dental kits, they have everything to get you out of a jiffy. Plus, did I mention the pool? not something you find in a hostel every day and for a price comparable to others in the area with a better experience, it's totally worth it. Breakfast is basic, but also good — with french bread, eggs, ham, cheese, juice, coffee, and hot chocolate, it's the typical hostel breakfast for a cheaper price than they charge at other hostels in the area, and if you want lunch, it's also offered for a minimal amount, unless you want to prepare your own, which is also an option in their cute little kitchen. All in all, I loved this hostel and I plan on coming back here in the future.

Bamboo Rio hostel is an amazing place to stay to visit Rio de janeiro!
I felt at home in just few days, the guys at the reception are very funny and friendly!
It has a swimming pool, hammocks, a kitchen, a living room and a bar where you can relax, drink, eat or smoke!
The rooms are very clean, like the bathrooms. They clean every day!
The position is perfect, copacabana is a safe neighborhood. It's very close to Botafogo and Ipanema, two magic places! The beach is just 5 blocks far away and you can find nice places to eat and drink! It's near to the metro Siquiera Campos and to many bus stops!
I really advice this hostel!

Cheap place close to the beach. Ten minute walk. Safe neighborhood. Stayed here for five days and the breakfast is free and decent. Met a lot of travelers from all over the world. Great friendly staff.

Not good hostel someone have broken my locker and stole me 200€ I'm disgusted of the staff and people of the administration not very kind just refounded me 200 RBL and did not try to find the guilty people it's inacceptable because they had caméras.

O atendimento é MUITO ruim. A gerente (Antonela) é de uma arrogância, incompetência e má vontade pra trabalhar impressionantes. Muito ruim de serviço. É enrolada demais e atende com extrema má vontade… te atende como se estivesse ali fazendo um favor. Fiz o pagamento da reserva (porque pra receber eles têm pressa e te mandam em questão de 5 minutos um e-mail com prazo para pagamento! ), mandei o comprovante, e mesmo assim precisei brigar com esse pessoal durante quase DOIS DIAS (! ) SÓ PRA TENTAR CONFIRMAR UMA RESERVA. Nesse período, liguei várias vezes e NINGUÉM me dava uma informação sobre a reserva… é uma zona, uma desorganização e uma má vontade pra trabalhar incríveis. A gerente em questão lê e não responde os e-mails, etc. Perdi completamente a vontade, cancelei e pedi o dinheiro de volta. Agora, COMO JÁ ERA DE SE ESPERAR, também estão me enrolando pra devolver o dinheiro. Eu não recomendo esse lugar pra ninguém. Preferi pagar mais caro e ficar em outro local onde, em menos de 15 minutos, confirmaram a minha reserva e já deixaram tudo certo.

Atendimento horrível… esperei quase 2 dias só pra confirmarem a minha reserva e, cansado de esperar, após ter ligado e mandado diversos e-mails sem solução, cancelei a reserva e pedi meu dinheiro de volta. A gerente é arrogante e atende o cliente com extrema má vontade. Pedi o dinheiro de volta e, a julgar pela "rapidez" do atendimento e vontade de trabalhar, só Deus sabe quando verei esse dinheiro novamente.

Pretty good hostel, well located. But it's not so clean and they don't have lockers for everyone. I really liked the breakfast and the staff was nice and helpful.

Bamboo rented out their balcony to a private party the night we were there, and did not give us any warning. They also cancelled the free drinks from 730-8. Oh yeah and our beds stunk like mould. We definitely got unlucky with the party on our night here, and this place good be cool otherwise if the balcony was bumping.

Its a very good hostel… staffs were friendly, helpful, full of local knowledge… rooms r air conditioned. It ws great experience.

Staff was amazing and made sure I was taken care of. Pretty basic rooms, but in hostels they're basically just a place to crash. Made some lastring friends though the drinks happy hour. Great way to kick off my trip to Rio!

Good and clean hostel. Facilities are good. Nice accommodation to relax or cook. Furthermore the staff speaks well English, not very common in hostels over here. Down point is the breakfast (not so good) and the rooms are small given the number of people in it. But pricewise a very good hostel.

A nice, cozy, entertaining, place the pool a little dirty but only is a detail next to the good stuff.

Unfortunately the staff was bad, they don't give any correct information because they haven't any interest to improve. Lack of water for take a shower… But thay have a relative good location for a relative good price per night too.

Terrible service. Fans sound as if they were trucks and only light them from 10 PM to 8 AM. The location is good and decent breakfast. Terribly bad staff except a guy called Peter. I do not recommend it.

Terrible staff, lack of water every night. They don't know anything about recommending things to do in Rio, and it's frustating the way they treat the custumers. Air conditioning (it's no written in the website) only turns on from 22 to 6. It's an OK place to stay, but if want to really have fun and enjoy your vacation don't go there. I've got frustated and 90% of people who were there were frustated too. Save money, go somewhere else.
