This is one of the nicest hostels I stayed at in Latin America :) Mayra and all the staff were super lovely and I definitely will go back next time I'm in Manaus! Additionally, all the hostel guests I met were extremely cool — the best crowd in Manaus :) x.

Had the most amazing time here. Staff are amazing and helpful. Manaus isn't just a jungle it's awesome to explore and experience the real Brazil. If you go stay here. Awesome chill area and comfy beds.

The attention is regular.
Attentive staff.
Old sheets and towels.
If you go to a shared room it is cheap. If you go three or four it's as expensive as a good hotel with breakfast.

Clean, good care, young atmosphere, very well decorated, good services. It does not include breakfast, you pay aside.

Amazing place to stay! Comfortable beds, everything super clean, great atmosphere and friendly staff! Besides the location is perfect, right next to the Teatro Amazonas. I recommend!

The hostel is VERY overpriced, noting when all the extra costs are added in. I did not have a fortunate experience with the owners. The rest of the staff was nice and friendly. However it is obvious that the owners are out to make as much money as possible. I emailed to notify that I would arrive in the early morning and to ask about some tours. When I showed up at about 5:15am and asked to just sit on the couch until sunrise, noting that I didn't need a bed, the man at reception informed me that I had to pay a full night's stay. He was able to put me in a bed, but had they been full, I would have had to pay just to SIT ON THE COUCH. As per Camila, one owner, this is because "everyone" (her choice of word) always books a room when they arrive that early. Also from her experience living elsewhere, that's the policy everywhere. Well, it's obviously not because after 2 years of traveling around the world, I've NEVER been forced to pay for showing up early. Additionally, she admitted she hadn't read the part of my email where I said I was showing up early and that was her fault. No where is their policy stated either so how was I supposed to know? Her only response the whole time was "That's our policy. " I won't lie. The facilities aren't bad. The bathrooms do tend to smell like sewage though and the toilets are not that strong so I regularly walked in on "remainders". Breakfast is extra. Early arrival is extra. To hang out a bit after check out is extra.

Did not stay there but they sorted a taxi for us and were very helpful.

The team of Local Hostel is amazing and the
love and devotion that you put to the attention deserve the penalty. The hostel is very well located a few meters from the Teatro Amazonas.

Our first time in Manaus. We opted for a double room, great air conditioning considering the extreme temperature. Good Wi-Fi, cold filtered water and extremely helpful english speaking staff.

I had a comfortable stay at the Local Hostel, which is perfectly located a stone's throw away from the square.

Nice and clean hostel located about 5 mins from the restaurants on the main street. Wifi is good in the common area but doesn't work in the rooms. Breakfast is simple with bread, ham and fruits. Staff speaks good English and is very helpful.

It is a very nice place. Very good customer service, extreme cleanliness. I recommend it with total peace of mind.

Central public areas located and beautiful. The Breakfast is not bad and the staff very helpful.

Really friendly staff here who know the city well and give good advice on how to get about. Being Manaus I'd highly recommend getting a room with Air Conditioning as it is a seriously hot and muggy city. There is a good breakfast included which is always a bonus.

Great hostel with friendly staff. The rooms are not special but their was a great atmosphere here.

Private double room is okay. The stuffs a friendly.

Clean, but loud. Shared bathrooms fill up quickly. Would probably get a private next time.

The private room with AC is great. Breakfast isn't bad either.
