Diggers Inn

Digger's Inn is not great. There aren't many choices in Francistown and if you just need something for 1 night, then you'll probably survive.
The place is old and tired, it's dirty and everything is in bad need of a really good clean. Although the rooms are spacious, they are grubby. You almost don't want to take your shoes off in the room. If you're facing the rear of the property you are overlooking a filthy car park and it's noisy from activity in street behind and lots of vendor activity.
Staff are generally unenthusiastic and not very helpful. Two people booked in a room but you only get 1 towel, and it took ages for them to bring another.
The front of the hotel is situated in a strip mall, with various shops and a restaurant and coffee shop. It's at this coffee shop where breakfast is served if you include this in your booking. Rather skip. Breakfast with booking is very limited and basic. We opted for avo on toast and the avo was mashed and spread so thin you couldn't even notice it was on the toast. Only redeeming thing was the pretty froth art on the cappuccino's.
A plus is they have secure parking at the back of the hotel, with a locked gate and security on duty.
Otherwise, maybe look for something else in Francistown.

We really battled to find the entrance to the property. The hotel is actually in a shopping centre. Some more signage would go a long way. Receptionist was very friendly.
Our room was at the top of the stairs and above the car park which always means you hear people noise. But the room itself had everything we needed for a one night stay at the end of a 6 week holiday.
Small fridge and aircon were appreciated!
There's a restaurant in the same shopping centre up a flight of stairs, and the breakfast room is on the ground floor but also outside entrance in the centre. Meals were good.
All in all… now we know where it is, we would book it again.

Very clean and comfortable rooms, with balcony. Quiet location. I had a room facing the car park of the Village Mall, which was super. Very friendly and helpful staff. Very good food in two attached restaurants. Safe parking for my bike. Lovely decor in the Inn showcasing the regions mining history.

A little gem in Francistown — and the restaurant definitely surprised — highly recommended.

Very poor service, no towels at night, internet very poor and the response from staff is argumentative. Night time noise by staff in the reception so loud that You can't sleep. Sadly restaurant can't offer what is on the menu four nights in a row.

We needed a place to stay when we attended a wedding in Francistown and had very few leads on a good and comfortable place to stay during out two nights stay. The hotel seemed to have decent ratings online and the immigration staff at the Botswana Border were helpful enough to recommend the place over other hotels in the city. We were definetly not dissappointed.
The place is well located right in the cbd but is in a quiet enough area. We were able to walk from the hotel into town to do some shopping. The place is also within a small shopping centre with a restaurant, botiques and other small shops. The rooms were clean, air conditioned and spacious. We loved the vintage design of the rooms though we felt the carpet in the corridors was a bit dated. The hotel also has a very secure parking space and a restaurant. Owing to our schedule we only dined there for breakfast on one of the days. We are not too sure if they have buffet breakfast as we were served a la carte. Our meals were generally well prepared and service was excellent. All in all a good, clean, secure and comfortabe place to stay.

A very nice place and good value for money, close to shops and a very good restaurant with nice food, very helpful staff willing to go out of their to ensure a pleasant stay, I will stay here every time I am in Francistown.

The staff are friendly however management is aloof. Also a little pricey for a struggling town. It's nice when managers greet their customers something the continentals know very well. After all we customers are doing you a favour by coming there, you are not doing us a favour!

It's a great place to rest in the heart of the City. Loved the historic theme-covered decor.

We drove up and down the busy streets of Francistown to find the hotel, in a shopping centre, of all places. Some brown signage would be a huge advantage. The hotel had its own secure parking area with security guards which was fantastic. Our room was on the first floor. Didn't hear road noise and slept well. This was the closest we got to a typical hotel. Dinner was available at a nearby restaurant upstairs in the shopping centre, part of the hotel, and a good breakfast choice was available at a coffee shop, also part of the group. Next time have to fit a coffee and cake stop in here!

The staff was so friendly and very welcoming. From the time of our arrival until our departure everything was perfect. I highly recommend Diggers Inn.

It's a lovely place to stay, Beautiful well kept rooms. It would be even better if there was a microwave kept by House Keeping for convenience, especially for guests staying longer than one day.

Diggers Inn is that one stop location for great accommodation, great food and drinks. The location is very intimate and secure. If you like quiet but beautiful spaces you're going to find Diggers Inn delightful.

Amazing place with great service. The only problem is the noise from a nearby club, you can’t get a shut eye with the club unfortunately.
