Mostar Downtown Hostel Hostel

Clean and cosy hostel. In great location near old town. Sonja goes out of her way to make everything easy. Great place to stay inHerzegovina's charming focal point of Mostar.

We spent here two nights. The hostel is in good place, near center, there is a good bakery and small market nearly next door. The place is small and cozy, nice and clean for a good prize, so I can only recommend. The hosts are also very nice and hospitable. Thank you, Sonya and your mother, see you next time :)

Downtown hostel has everything a backpacker is looking for; a cozy, clean bed, kitchen for cooking, outdoor patio for relaxing, and all that for a very cheap price (which is always good for us backpackers). But most importantly, the owner, Sonja, is the sweetest and most accommodating hostel owner I've came across! Thank you, Sonja, for your hospitality you showed. She truly cares about her guests and makes you feel like Downtown hostel is your home away from home. 110% recommend this hostel to anyone traveling to Mostar, Bosnia.

The common rooms were chilly and there wasn't much space to hang out, but the rooms were warm and cozy and the lockers were a good size. Other than that the hostel was great, but what really made the stay amazing was Sonja. She went out of her way to check on her residents and make sure we were comfortable. She even spent her birthday driving one of the other residents and I to our next destination since we were going to the same place and stopped at a couple cool places along the way. She's the sweetest and staying at Downtown is definitely worth it if you're spending a few nights in Mostar.

Everything about the hostel is perfect. It's clean, has a kitchen, warm water, comfortable beds, heating and lockers. The location is amazing. The best feature is definitely the hosts. Sonja is fun, helpful, and welcoming. She helped me rent a car and gave me a ride to a neighboring village that was out of the way. Highly recommend a stay here.

I just spend 1 night there, but everything was amazing! Sonja is really nice and helpful, she has an excelent attitude and a great smile. I enjoyed my time here and I totally recommend this hostel!

الهوستل جميل ونظيف ويقع بالقرب من الجسر القديم مكانه استراتيجي وسعره. مناسب جدا معاملة اصحاب الهوستل جدا راقية. ومن خلاله تستطيع ان تتعرف على الكثير من الاصدقاء من دول مختلفة.

Its really close to the old city and during winter it was really silent and peacefull. The owner and her mother are sooooooo sympathic. It felt like home with mummy and granny.

My friends and I all think this place has been over-rated.
It was very very very cold in the hostel. The air conditioner in the room didn’t work in the beginning. I worked in the kitchen on my laptop overnight with the heater on, still, my hands got many cracks due to the coldness. I think the mom of the owner was not happy with me turning on the heater all night, she turned it off without saying anything in the morning in an impolite way. The owner was fine, but her mom tried to kick my friends and I out around 11AM. She even tried to move my bag out angrily. We had to call the owner to ask permission to stay longer. I know the mom does not speak English, but her expression and attitude showed everything. The beds were not comfortable, the bottom beds seem to be little coffins, you basically cannot move there. The bathrooms were clean but we could not lock them without a key. The utensils in the kitchen were very dirty. It seems that the hostel does not care much about guests during low season. The whole thing was not pleasant, and I would not recommend to stay.

Great hostel, perfect kitchen, helpful stuff, highly suggested for Mostar, Old Bridge is 200m away, bus station 10m away. Clean and cosy Hostel.

Very charming hostel, lady and daughter who run it were very nice! Convenient location. There's a walking tour and pun crawl at 7pm with other hostels I recommend.

Absolutely fenomenal hostel. The owners of hostel will give you such a warm welcome, that makes u feel like ur home. Sonja and Mom Vesa, congrats to you for keeping it with so much kindeness. As for sight seeing, you literaly are not able to choose better hostel, as you are in core heart of the city, and old Town — 20 seconds away. Sonja and Mom big kudos to you two, for sure we will come back.

We absolutely loved Mostar Downtown hostel! The location was spot on with literally a 30sec walk to the closest bridge to 'the famous Mostar bridge' and you got a great view. Then walk another 2 mins to the famous bridge via amazing markets. As you walked in they had a small courtyard which was very inviting and extra blankets for the cold nights. The bathrooms were so clean and looking great and for any of you tilers out there, the grouting was in great condition. The owners, Sonya and her mother, are amazing and so friendly and helpful. They gave us so many more ideas and places to visit which was so helpful. They also gave us knowledge of the area and safe places and atm's markets etc. All in all we loved this hostel and the people and the place. A+!

I booked one night here and ended up staying for three because it was just that awesome. Sonja is extremely helpful and friendly and is more than accommodating. Talk to her about where you want to go and what you want to do and she will make sure that you are getting the best deal possible. Her and he mother do an excellent job running this place and are by far the sweetest ladies I have met on my trip. The hostel was very clean (cleaned every day) with plenty of hot water, excellent air conditioning and comfortable beds. Enjoy!

Not only the best hostel & place to land for a night but certainly one of the most interesting Mostar hotspots: only couple of minutes away from the Old town & Old bridge, it gives you fantastic opportunity to enjoy famous domestic atmosphere & hospitality of our kind hosts Sonja & Vesa, always smiling and taking care of everything you might need down your road.
I've enjoyed turkish coffee-spiced mornings or sunny watermelon afternoons in fabulous hostel garden. Made new friendships with other guests from Nepal to Brasil, thrilled to have young travellers around.
Cousy beds, shiny bathrooms & urban-styled kitchen really did make my rest-stop much easier and gave impression of a real home.
Can't wait to get back!
