I would give 1 star but at least the location is beautiful, in the centre, cheap and the coffee for breakfast is good. The Wifi isn't. Renting rooms without heating while night temperatures are around zero is a crime to me, especially because their page tells they have a central heating. But of course it is "just temporarily not working" and "will be fixed". Changing the room wasn't possible. Interesting fact is that the heating in the office is working… So the rooms are cold, the bathrooms are freezing and there is no place to heat up because the TV room is not heated as well. But if your lucky the sun heats it up a bit. And if that wouldn't be enough: they serve breakfast in the yard. Don't come here when outside temperatures are low!

The place is good, value for money. I would improve housekeeping and breakfast.

Had an okay experience at this place. Very cool layout of the place. Rooms smelled pretty weird though and got FREEZING at night. Seriously have no idea how they get so cold. I don't mind the cold though and would give 4-stars but the Wifi was down and un-usable for almost the entire 3 days we were here.

The place is fine. Price chord. 40 Bolivianos per shared room and breakfast. Breakfast is simple. There is kitchen, but there is Q leave a sign to use it (? ). The Wi-Fi is a bit bad, and the place is very big so Q does not reach everywhere. Hot water in bathrooms.

Good Wi-Fi and decent self serve breakfast (coffee/tea, bananas, bread and jam). Nice courtyard to sit and socialise. Rooms a bit cold, and paint peeling off the wall (seems standard) but warm blankets.

Cheap. Comfy beds. Nice shared space. It is super cold in this place though. Some heating would be nice — but I suppose you get what you pay for!

The very old building, the 1700 is beautiful, but quite sloppy. Bad attention. I wouldn't go back and wouldn't recommend it.

Well, I want to give them a 3 but the only real problem is that I think I was a little too old to be staying here and am used to more privacy so I can't fault the hostal for that. The staff are friendly and helpful, the building is historic and the location is central. If you're in your early 30s and under and don't mind shared bathrooms, and maybe have your own towel then great! This is be a great place to meet other travelers and a great value. If you're older or have issues with any of the above then you're going to have to spend more and stay elsewhere.

The place has a beautiful infrastructure. It's Gigantic.
The mattresses are old and crushed. The showers are not entirely clean.
It's Economical.
They say the breakfast is buffet but it is not. It's Fine Anyway.

It is a very nice place, it has dorm rooms and private rooms.
Your breakfast lacks a little more affection but is acceptable.
It is located in the heart of the city.
It accepts motorcyclists and parking of the motorcycles inside the hostel.
It is clean, has good shower with hot water.
It also has Wifi in the recreation area.

Do yourself a favour and avoid this place. We stayed at a different hostel for one night before moving to this one because of the cheap rates, and we really lived to regret it. Yes, the location is great and rooms are cheap. BUT consider this: — there's no heating despite freezing temperatures at night, which means I ended up with a massive cold — you're not allowed to take blankets from any spare beds, allegedly because they are fully booked. When we stayed there, they had at least 50% capacity — staff is rude, dismissive and dishonest — there's no kitchenware or pots in the kitchen, you have to borrow everything at a deposit, which is weird. Also you pay for your rooms in advance, which is not normal — the mine tour they're offering is not run by an ex-miner as advertised and the whole organisation is underwhelming. Seriously, spend 3 Euros more per night and stay at a lovely hostel just around the corner from this place.

Okay budget option to stay in the city centre of potosi. Cleanliness should be improved, bathrooms are always wet and damp and it's somehow disgusting to step on a floor like that.

The hostel is located in a typical old house, beautiful. Excellent location, comfortable and spacious rooms, good price, clean, hearty and rich breakfast (yogurt, fruits, coffee, milk, breads, butter, jam: all free)

I really enjoyed the stay here. The only issue was the cold. It was 12-3°C during our stay and our room was very cold. Since the heaters were off during summer, the only solution from the hostel was "use more blankets". But otherwise very friendly and helpful personal.

Welcome and miserable reception, application for deposit of guarantee for use of the kitchen. Lights out 10.30 pm, impossible to enjoy the patio. No smoking area. Double room with one take. Books available only against passport, no exchange possible… Tour to the mine proposed by the average hotel, very cold guide. At the limit to answer when you ask for schedules or places to take a bus (they sell more expensive tickets). Also inaccurate information. Short hostel to avoid.

Nice house, good location, but sloppy and with a little attentive service. There was a wet floor in the hallway, we slipped, we claimed twice and they didn't dry out. Plus it was cold and they didn't have an extra blanket. Very early hours to leave the room.

It was summer but at night it was very cold and the heating is scheduled to turn on only in winter, it's our only complaint.

Beautiful and cheap place, it is a huge colonial house. The Wi-Fi is very good, the breakfast is good and the common places are great. The only reproach is that it has no private rooms and that the kitchen is open from 14 to 21:30.

In the heart of a most historic city. A hostel with classical architecture. Feels like stepping back in time.

I liked the hotel. Very nice atmosphere and attention Tb. I would go back to why it is a characteristic place of Potosí plus the price very agreeable. They just need to improve the jejejejejeje pillows. Otherwise this is very good.

Very good hostel. Economic as all in Bolivia with good quality, good breakfast, hot water at all times and even television in. Private rooms. Very large beds.

Good service, is central, has hot water, and breakfast is varied you can serve as you wish but by the height the appetite decreases! But he's got the BBB.

Disrespectful and unpleasant staff. Fire extinguishing at 10.30 pm, unable to read or write in the room after this hour even with a headlamp! Dirty sanitary, no smoking area, always ask for permission in the evening to smoke and ask that we open the closed doors, on the internet they say have a terrace but I have never seen it, no catches in the dormitory, just a multitake near The road side exit… Ild send you a stroll as soon as you make a constructive remark, not to mention the rules of the kitchen… In short, stay foul.

Bathroom could us an update. Close to everything is an usp. Heating should be turned on in relation to temperature not season. It was very cold in the rooms at the beginning of December. We went out to find a warm pub in stead of relaxing in our room.

It's very good. Very spacious, very clean, free lockers. Excellent location. It has a very well kept colonial style. Breakfast included. The bathrooms are spacious, and everything works. 100% recommended for the one who goes to Potosí.

Great place to stay for a visit in Potosi. Close to the downtown core, decent breakfast and Wi-Fi, and great shower with loaf of hot water. Beautiful interior courtyard and extremely nice staff.

I had a private room with a shared bathroom and it was exactly what I needed. Very close to everything, highly recommend. The breakfast is very light, and the workers weren't the most accommodating, but for what you're paying it's perfect.

I stayed here for a few nights, the dorms were warm but didn't have enough electrical points, Wi-Fi is ok but put in warm clothes for breakfast as its cold.

Too expensive for the service. Guy in front desk wasn't nice, Wi-Fi didn't work and he told me it must be my phone (my PC and other phone didn't work neither). Also, breakfast was basically only bread. Too limited when cheaper places offer much more.

Cozy and nice atmosphere, with tours from a team known to the hostal staff. Breakfast is included, generally with bread, tea, coffee, marmalade, etc. Would recommend for people who want to stay 1 or 2 days, and doesn't want to worry about going out to have breakfast.

Dirty bed and bathrooms, no hot water, awful Wi-Fi (even for Bolivia). The manager was so rude to me after I questioned his "13% VAT. " He wouldn't write me out a detailed receipt. Many better places to stay in the nice city of Potosí.

Well they let me park my motorcycle in the courtyard so bonus points. Beds aren't great but still great value for money.

The good: beautiful building, decent breakfast, solid location, hot (albeit, moldy) showers, lockers available. The bad: one electrical plug for a 10 person dorm. That's right. 10 people have to fight over the single outlet to plug a single electrical device into. TERRIBLE situation and truly unacceptable. Wifi: slow. No soap in bathroom sinks (gross, come on! ). Have to pay to use TV room, have to leave a deposit to use kitchen ware.

Good to spend a night in the city. Lots of tourists; the breakfast good. The reception they helped me to get parking.

The best of Potosí, all amenities, spacious, comfortable, and enjoyable.

It is good that you charge for everything, otherwise is not a nice place. There is no heating.

The worst of the hostel is people attending. One stays, apparently with the intention of doing a favor to them. Disinterest, Vibe and disabled to provide an "acceptable" service for tourists. Like the tour service to the mine offered in charge of a few clowns "former miners" who do not know or the height above the level of the sea of the Hill and they spend doing pure show within the mine, insulting customers and demonstrating the lack of knowledge of chivalry. The hostel offers it as a good service, clarifying that they are ex-miners and non-students, as if this were good. Really try to go with students or people understood, you know tourism and who knows how to give a good guide for the mine. Instead these two idiots do not just sell little mirrors of colors thinking that because show you a dynamite you'll be fucking master of the world.
Finally, the worst of the hostel is people attending.
