We came here because this was supposed to be the best hotel in town. We were disappointed by the service, by the quality of the food, by the lack of compliance with the contract. Cleaning was bad, service was even worse. The establishment hasn’t been taken care of properly in a while and it shows. Wouldn’t recommend to spend your money here.
My wife and I spent 2 nights in this place around Carnaval de Oruro. Our travel agent told me that it is the only hotel that has its own “VIP-stands” from which it is possible to watch the Carnaval from the 1st row and at the same time having a convenience of direct access to our room or hotel restaurant.
We booked a Presidential Suite and managed to pay USD 3.000 per night for it. OK, this was stupid, but I told our agent to book the biggest room available not expecting how much the hotel would rip us off.
We were also not fooled by the hotel’s claimed 5-star status, of course. We were not expecting the same level as, for example, in La Paz or Santa Cruz. But it wasn’t our first time in Bolivia and we had been in “off the beaten track” places, so we believed we knew what to expect.
But our “Presidential Suite” in Eden met us with never-properly-cleaned toilets, one of the 2 being cracked; with dirty and cracked floor and wall bathroom tiles, some being held in place by sticky tape; initially greenish floor carpets being grey from not vacuum cleaned for unknown period of time; not functioning at all declared 24 hours heating (there was a thermostat sticking from the wall in the bedroom, but no matter which position it was on nothing happened; several Wi-Fi networks – none of them functioning (after some pushing we got a personal router into the room) ; 2 shower and 1 facial towels were prepared in the main bathroom none in “guest toilet”.
