Beautiful property beautiful place amazing hot stone bath and staff are equally nice people!

Very good ambience dipped in history. Used to be a governor’s residence.

A hotel goes beyond bricks and mortar. Gangtey's staff, from the general manager to the receptionist to those manning the restaurant and those in housekeeping are extremely helpful, cooperative and well mannered. They made our stay a memorable one, a delightful one. As for the hotel itself, it's set amidst well maintained greenery, and you can see the mountains in the distance. There's a veranda from where you can enjoy the gorgeous view, and an al fresco area. Tea, coffee or other drinks and snacks can be had here. Made of wood, it has a different feel and look. On the downside, the rooms are a bit dark, especially those on the ground level. But then, how much would one actually spend indoors? My room on the ground floor opened to the courtyard, while the room's window afforded a view of beautiful flowers and plants. A fan, pedestal or ceiling, would have been good as it was fairly hot on the two days that we were there (mid-August).

Best view in Paro, historical property that was previously a real Palace. The grounds are beautiful and the room deco authentic. The gardens are well kept and full of blooms.

Great, local flavor. It is a bit "rustic" but feels very Bhutanese. No TV or phones, which is GREAT. Staff is beyond helpful, friendly and just does things without being asked. Not a good place for someone disabled or mobility problems due to the typical Bhutanese steep stairs, But adds to the local feel. Restaurant is good as well.

Amazing former Palace now intimate family-run hotel. Rooms are cosy with classic Bhutanese style furnishings and carpets. Staff incredibly friendly, food is great and the Wi-Fi is fast! Location overlooking Paro town and with a great view of Paro fortress. Absolutely recommended.

It is a historic building of typical construction butanesa with the first floor made entirely in wood. The situation unbeatable for the views over the Paro valley and Dzong in front and to the bottom of the Himalayas. This is a bit old but no matter. The attention of the staff warm and attentive. The Paro valley is a fairy tale in a country charming and precious that it retains its culture, its traditions, its unique architecture… in order to be there much longer.

Beautiful in Buthanese style. Former royal palace. Huge room and also the bathroom area. The restaurant detached from the hotel is really gorgeous overlooking Paro. Very nice staff, super food.

Beautiful Hotel with amazing views. You get to see Paro Dzong; National Museum & the Trunk Road from this gorgeous property. Had the good fortune of interacting with Mr. Togbay Dorji & Ms. Chuki-Om during our stay there. Great Hospitality & Lovely People. Will come back in the future.

A historical palace overlooking the Paro valley with the best view in the area. A beautiful location with one of the prettiest gardens one can come across. Highly recommended.

Hotel beautifully installed in a former governor's palace. My room on the third floor offers a very nice view. The Wi-Fi on the third floor is the fastest of the trip. Attentive and courteous staff.
