Stayed here on the first and last day of our Bhutan trip. Our experience on the first day was great, but the last night was extremely disappointing.
The night before checkout, we informed the receptionist that we had an early morning flight and would need to leave very early. They assured us this wouldn’t be a problem and even promised that our breakfast would be packed for us to take along.
However, in the morning when we came down to the lobby, both the entrance and exit doors were locked. The receptionist who was supposed to assist us was passed out on the lobby sofa and appeared to be drunk. Another guest had already been trying to wake him up for about 15 minutes, but without success.
After the three of us tried repeatedly to wake him, we had to search for another way out and were fortunately able to find a back door to leave the hotel.
This was extremely irresponsible behaviour on the part of the hotel staff. Not only did we miss the breakfast that we had already paid for, but we were also at risk of missing our flight because the staff member on duty was intoxicated and unable to assist guests. This was a very concerning experience and not something you would expect from a hotel responsible for guests’ safety and service.
