Coco Reef Bermuda

I'm a Bermudian and when I travel home I stay in various hotels. In 2025, I was home in July and December and, for convenience to family, we.
Stayed at Coco Reef. The rooms have been updated from the old wicker, but beyond the location convenience and the updated rooms, the STAFF are TERRIFIC! From the front desk, to the dining room, to the drivers who took us up and down the hill nightly, and even the housekeeping staff who made sure the room was spotless daily — WONDERFUL! The hotel was, and always is, packed because the STAFF make you feel like you're coming home!

This is a small two story resort directly on a magnificent south shore beach. It has charm and hospitality galore. It has recently undergone a significant renovation and all the rooms are upgraded. Most rooms are ocean front or view. All staff are very friendly and professional. The ocean view restaurant has quite a varied selection of meals, at all meals times (but not in between). We found the dinners to be very high quality and better than most of the meals we had in the towns. After exploring the island I believe that this would be the only place we would stay on a return trip.

Traveled mid October 2025. It was our first trip to the island and everything exceeded our expectations! I cannot say enough about Coco Reef’s beautiful property, amazing staff, or incredible food and drinks! Pictures online are accurate of the outside but still don’t capture the stunning beauty of this property with a gorgeous private beach! The rooms are all updated (no wicker furniture), modern with touch mirrors in the bathroom, TV’s, safe, mini fridge, and coffee maker. They are well versed in gluten free food and ALL the staff were simply top notch! The quaint property does not have elevators but the buildings are only two levels high. It’s simply a gem!

My wife and I celebrated our honeymoon here. Food, drinks, and service were great. We loved our view from our room and the private beach was perfect. The women running the front desk were super kind and helpful as can be. I would certainly love to go back.

I don't have one negative word to say about this hotel! While unfortunately I was not visiting for leisure this time around, I would absolutely return to fully enjoy the resort. The staff were so friendly and helpful, the restaurant was very good, and the rooms were clean and comfortable. The pathway going down to their private beach was so quaint. I hope to be back soon!

Coco Reef was wonderful. It's central location makes trips easy. Our room was very nice. The staff were friendly and incredibly helpful. The short walk down to the private beach for a dip or lounge was a great way to start and end each day. I would highly recommend Coco Reef to anyone visiting Bermuda.

We loved this beachfront location! We arrived before our room was ready and the hotel staff was so accommodating and helped us get into vacation mode and the pool and beach while they held our bags. Once in the room, we were impressed by the view and cleanliness. The bed was very comfy! The overall theme was calm and cute.
The beach and pool have chairs and umbrellas and towels all ready for you.
Hotel dining was a great experience. They had a variety of options — the samosa, ribeye, and beef short rib were delicious!
The hotel is situated on the island where you can easily get to either side using the public transportation bus.
Don’t overlook this small resort. It felt like a private paradise!

I have a shot of the beach at Coco Reef as the backdrop on my computer, but I have to point out to people that it is not some stock photo of perfection but an actual photo of perfection. Coco Reef beach is an ultimate instance of Bermuda. Sapphire and emerald seas gently lapping a pink beach with sand as soft as talcum powder. The two story buildings are arranged on terraces that rise from the water, their characteristic Bermuda white roofs glowing in the sunlight. They house recently refurbished rooms that have a quiet, pastel elegance. And incredibly comfortable beds. The walk down to the beach gives you a breathtaking vista, however the price is the walk back up. But it helps you rationalize the cocktails that they serve you to your lounger. And that service is what makes this place truly wonderful. The staff here are incredible and always willing to help and to chat. They aren’t just friendly, they start with the assumption that you are their friend. I recommend this place to anyone and everyone I know.

Went with my 20 something daughter for a few days and loved it! We had a beachfront room and it was magical-bright turquoise water right out your door. The beach was sandy, comfortable lounge chairs and umbrellas. They are building an outside bar but easy to bring drinks from the inside bar to the beach a few steps away. The Elbow Beach hotel next door is closed/being renovated so the beach was extra private. Our room was simple (who needs a decorated room when you have that glorious view?! ) and newly painted with a very comfortable mattress and pristine white linens. It was an 8-10 minute walk to the bus and to a market for supplies. We were so tired from our adventures each day that we wound up having dinner at the resort restaurant all 3 nights. I stuck with a tofu salad which was lovely and my daughter had salmon and chicken piccata which were all excellent. The dining room is all windows with an attentive staff who wrapped up our dinner to go the last night when we decided to eat in our room. In fact, all the staff were attentive and welcoming and helpful. I would highly recommend for a more laid back, peaceful, private experience than perhaps some of the other resorts provide.

There isn’t a single negative thing I could say about this lovely place. Everybody who works here is kind and helpful. The rooms are lively and renovated. The beach is beautiful and private.
But I wanted to make a special mention of the restaurant Sol I mar. I frequent nice restaurants in NYC and believe that Sol I mar is up there with the best of them. Again, lovely staff, but the food itself was perfectly cooked, amazing sauces. We tried a few other restaurants on the island and decided that this is our favorite. Some of the most tender lamb I’ve ever had. Thank you to the chef.
And thank you to the whole coco reef staff for a great experience.

My husband and I loved our time at CoCo Beach Resort every one was so helpful and happy to make our stay better any way they could! Especially Mavis and Danny in the restaurant and Dante and Melanie driving us to and from our room with our luggage when we checked in and out! Dante even brought us towels to the beach when he saw we needed them. Our ocean front room was renovated, clean, and perfect for us with a spectacular view! I could even see the ocean waves splashing the beach at night from our room. The pool was big and the beach was gorgeous and swimming in it even better! It did not have pickle ball courts or a spa or a jacuzzi but we didn’t come for that. We had a lovely peaceful and relaxing vacation and we didn’t pay the extra big bucks for things we didn’t need and can’t wait to go back again. It was perfect for us!

Just returned from another fantastic vacation at the Coco Reef. We loved it so much we are returning In September. The location is perfect, right on the ocean, only a mile from downtown Hamiliton, small grocery store and bus stop a short walk away.
The entire staff is excellent. You always get the VIP treatment. Management has been working hard over the past few years updating the rooms, dining room and front lobby. The biggest improvement was the restaurant; they brought in a new cook. The food was excellent which is very important to us. The dinning staff was also excellent. They couldn't do enough for us. One night we wanted pasta but there was no pasta on the menu. Gregory our waiter told us just ask and we will make it happen. The cook cooked us a delicious pasta and shrimp meal. If you like small quiet intimate resorts where the staff treats you like family, you will love Coco Reef.

They call this a boutique hotel for a reason. Do not expect to have your feet rubbed or have food rushed to your room. This is a low key, classy and quiet resort and is suited as such. The beach is the nicest I've ever stayed on, rivaling Turks and Caicos. While other beaches this month are experiencing seaweed, including Horseshoe Bay, Elbow Beach has been widely unaffected. The food was delicious, the workers attentive and caring. They are building a beach bar which will eliminate the walk up to the restaurant for a frozen drink, but waiter service was available on the beach with a bit of a wait. The rooms were super clean, pool and grounds impeccable. And the location close to Hamilton ideal! You save money on taxis. (Walk to Lido restaurant one building down if you can for nightlife) If you want to stay at the St Regis, go for it $$$$. For far less you will have one of the most relaxing vacations of your life right on their beach. I'd give it a 5 star if they had water stations and ice availability, along with small lobby purchases available for customers. (water, Advil, sun lotion etc) Like most waterfront hotels in Bermuda, not exactly ADA compliant. Expect the uphill walk. Bu our room was set up for us as we used the beach upon check in so we didn't need to roll our luggage and groceries down the hill and up the stairs. It was a nice touch. I'd go back again in a minute. Work on that water and ice please!

We had the unfortunate experience of being medically evacuated from a cruise ship because my husband was very poorly. I stayed here for 3 weeks whilst my husband was in hospital for 2 weeks & was able to join me for the last week whilst waiting for a fit to try home note from the hospital. I have to say that absolutely all of the staff were so friendly & helpful towards me. I have never been in this situation before & would never wish it on anyone but I have to say if it does happen to anyone it couldn’t happen in a better place. Not only were the hotel staff amazing but also the taxi drivers were wonderful as well — it puts our country to shame. They were there for me every step of the way & did everything possible to help me get through this awful experience. In particular I would like to praise Patricia & Crystal at Coco Reef — they both went above & beyond what was expected of them & I will be eternally grateful to them both. I will never forget their kindness towards me. It is just a shame we were there in these circumstances — it would have been an amazing place to stay for a vacation in normal circumstances. You never know we may return one day if my husband is able to fly again. Thoroughly recommended!

Remodeled rooms and lobby are great, and the staff were all outstanding.
Very peaceful, except when the Day Pass trees arrived. The two beaches were great to relax and swim, and the pool was a nice change of pace late in the day.
The food was all very well prepared, and they have the best coffee. Dinner variety menu is needed if you are staying for a week. The fresh fruits were well prepared and flavorful, although the cheesecake was a disappointment.
The walk to the bus was only 1/4 mile and well worth getting the multi day bus pass to travel.
Cab to airport is about $50, $25 to Hamilton or to local restaurants There is a market near bus stop for room groceries.
The room cleaning staff were thorough and polite, as were the lobby and wait staff. A high shout out to the grounds crew who were informative, polite and excellent at their jobs.

It was my wife's Judy's Special day and to celebrate we decided to have Lunch here at their Sol Li Mars restaurant. We were not only impressed with the decor but also the food and service was top notch. My wife had this succulent Hamburger with Fries and I had a gourmet delight chunks of Rockfish — Mahi Mahi and Salmon with onions and Peppers on a skewer. I also had some fries. We finished our meal with a Tiramasu dessert and a Cappuccino each. We were so impressed overall we are thinking of going back for our Anniversary. Definitely recommened.

We were very happy with our choice to stay at Coco Reef. The staff consistently went the extra distance to make our stay great! We loved the ocean view room with private balcony, table and chairs. The ocean was easily accessed. The room was recently updated and pleasant. The restaurant was very good, and the bar (and Patricia) were great! We used the bus line for all transportation other than to/from the airport, and saw the entire island. It was on time, clean and the drivers could not have been more helpful. We loved Bermuda, the history, people and sights. We will definitely return!
