Reviews of Limprévu
It is a nice restaurant, the service is good and the wine selection is even better, but the fish was undercooked, with blood getting out. One of my partners got a hair in his pasta too. Hygiene is the basis for everything. Since I became sick, I cannot give more than two stars. Sorry. Precise directives should be given to the cook.
This is now my go to guest house and restaurant in Cotonou. I enjoyed my stay and meals at the restaurant. Everybody is friendly and accommodating.

Disappointing service and unacceptable treatment of event guests.
We booked L'impreuve for a one-day workshop and were charged premium European prices for a 2-course buffet. While the food itself was decent, the management and seating arrangements were completely unacceptable.
Despite paying full price, the restaurant attempted to squeeze all 24 of our participants onto cramped, long picnic tables and benches rather than allowing us to use the regular restaurant seating. We were expected to eat while crammed together with virtually no room to move.
When our guests, who included several distinguished VIPs, including Beninese mayors/majoress, a university rector and vice rector, and a member of a royal family attempted to sit at an open, regular table for basic comfort, the wait staff shouted at them to move.
They openly stated they had strict orders not to let our group use any other tables. The day manager later treated me and my collegues with the same hostility, demanding we move despite the obvious lack of space.
When we raised this directly with the owner, she offered no apology to us or our guests.
Regardless of who the guests are, every paying customer deserves to be treated with civility and respect. It is a shame, as we had high expectations for this venue.
Unfortunately, it is clear this establishment prioritises maximising profit over hospitality and customer experience. I cannot recommend this venue for workshop style events.
