Great opportunity to interact with nature and the animals you see in the zoo but never get close to.
My wife and I visited the sanctuary on our last day in Belize. Shane was a great guide and an inspiring person. You can really see how hard he works to improve his community and protect the ecosystem. He gave us a great tour around his property and we eventually crossed paths with one of the 2 howler families. They were very trusting of Shane and were not shy around us either, even briefly walking on the ground in front of us. Shane and his brother also have a great little gift shop full of locally made art, soap, and hand carved coconut bird feeders. Shane is a community leader and has great plans for his property and the town. We found our rental car battery had died on us during our visit and Shane and his brother got us running again in no time. We hope to visit again in the future! Positive vibes!

My family and I took a tour to see the family of Howler monkeys that live on the property. It was amazing to see the trust the Howler's had in venturing down when Royce called to them with different sounds. We thoroughly enjoyed our tour. We came from a cruise ship and did this excursion on our own. The sanctuary had been effected by the hurricane a month before, so it was in the process of being cleaned up and repaired. I'm glad we could support their effort.
