Beautiful room! We love the area. Staff is wonderful. Keep in mind the "adult only" pool was merely a suggestion and not enforced. Also know the locals drink in the bars and swim in the pools as well. Not an issue, but different than our past travel experiences. Everyone knows everyone and just rolls with it.

Me and my girlfriend just stayed there this past week. The only thing better than the food and the town of Hopkins was the staff at Almond Beach. If it wasn’t Dennis the Menace climbing trees, or Kaptain Larry bringing you coconuts, it was Hendri at the pool bar making the best drinks I ever had. Felix picked us up from the airport and showed us The landscape and Cippy is the go to man for tours. If you need things to get done you call for Patrick. He makes it happen. Also if you need to book a trip from the resort, Stacy is your go too. Such a great group of people! I would recommend this resort for anyone in the area. We love and miss you and it’s only been a few hours!

Very nice and quiet place to stay! The staff even gave me a fishing pole at night because they found out that I love fishing. The food and drinks were top notch! Staff was excellent and the room was super nice! Great price and great fun!

A place where everyone knows your name. Very welcoming and you will want or need for nothing. You are treated like family. Very clean, food was fresh and delicious. There were too many kids in the pool bar but learned the “Adults Only” sign had just fallen down and hadn’t been put back up yet. We will be back.

The hotel has a lot of character the staff are very polite qualities of good beach nice clean fun Pleasant Resort.

As a Belizean visiting this place for the first time was a very wonderful experience. Customer service was excellent, staff was friendly and the room was beautiful. My husband and I stayed in a beachfront cabana and the view was breathe taking. Will definitely take a next trip there for couple more nights. Great job guys.

This place is really great. Families or couples. Number one reason for the rating is the staff. Every one of them takes the time to make you feel welcome and make sure your needs are met. Food in the restaurant is good but breakfast overpriced as usual. Grounds and rooms are very clean. A/C in room could use some tlc as it was only mildly cooling. TV had an issue that after 30 minutes of running, it kept on rebooting. Neither is a major issue because you come here to experience what Hopkins and Belize has to offer, not stay in your room.

We had an absolutely wonderful time here. This still felt like real Belize but at the same time catered to the guests. It is perfect for about two or three days of just getting away.

This was a lovely place to escape from reality. There is minimal Wi-Fi available and wonderful service that you would expect from a 5 star resort.

Awesome place for relaxation. You need that down time and this is just the place providing you with all the comforts and then some for a nice and relaxing time. Unwind with the full measure of the liquor selection and better yet the signature cocktails. Impressive dining experience.

Clean, spacious rooms in the owner's penthouse. The hotel is right on the beach, and provides paddle boards and kayaks for guests to check out, which means every day can be a day on the water. We booked 2 snorkel tours through the hotel and they were both great. The staff were friendly and helpful. There were several great restaurants within walking distance. I would definitely stay there again.

The beach front hotel is excellent for couples who want to experience nanture and enjoy sunsets and sunrises as well as watersports. The hotel room was quiet clean and definately set the mood for romance. It would also be a great place to take your family as the hotel zone here allows you a large amount of beach front to choose from.

Every time I thought it couldn’t get worse it did. The front desk staff were rude when we checked in, and then got mad when we couldn’t find our room. We walked out on the beach to be informed they have sand fleas that bite. So the beach is obviously filthy. We decided to eat at the resturant and ended up getting sick from the food. We tried to use the Wi-Fi and it was sketchy at best. The next day we were getting ready and the power goes out, and when we ask about it we were told it happens a lot. So, to kill time we tried to go to the pool bar. After 30 minutes of waiting we realized the bartender is sexist and would only serve the men regardless of who was there first. I finally walked away without getting my drink because he was such a jerk. We stupidly tried the food again the second day and again got sick. I know why we probably got sick though, as we waited for our food we saw a rat run up the wall and into the kitchen. A RAT! We told the bartender and the front desk and both said it happens. No wonder we got sick because the place has rats and no one cares! It must be DISGUSTING in their kitchen. I wouldn’t recommended this “resort” to my worst enemy and I would NEVER come back, I’m just thankfully we only had to stay at this disgusting place 3 days.

Great rooms, great staff (Sippy, Charlie, & Larry), great views, great tours and just all around good place. We did the all inclusive and overall it's been pretty good as well!

Unbelievable resort! View, service, food, service again, room in front of caribbean sea, literally. Well maintained property, AMAZING PARADISE.

I was wondering if anyone else has experienced that if any of the major airlines delayed your luggage by a couple of days, if they would charge the passenger $220.00 Belize for their luggage to be delivered to the resort? While returning home, I asked at the airline ticket counter in Belize City, I was told that every airline has agreements with all of the taxi's, carriers, and small airlines and that the passenger should never be charged. She said " I think you got hustled". I called Viva Belize and they all said that was a valid charge and the airline should pay you back for those charges. I asked them to present me an invoice, and they couldn't. I hate to accuse Almond Beach of foul play, but it doesn't pass the smell test! Thoughts?

Great hotel on a gorgeous beach. Lovely view every morning! Food, drinks and service were excellent.

It's a magical place with some nice rooms right at the beach. The pools are great — one has a swim up bar. Many daily activities if you feel like doing stuff other than lying in the many beach hammocks or floating in the ocean. The personnel is very helpful and friendly. The only problem we had is that our Wi-Fi wasn't working and it took them the better part of a week to fix that. But then again, it is good to be disconnected for a while.

We stayed for 8 days — but we would have loved to been there for a month. It is a great place to unwind and detach from the rest of the world. We left our computers and cell phones behind. We had a second floor balcony room overlooking the pool. It was an outstanding room in both view (we looked also onto the bay) and in the quality of the interior. With the ability to schedule diving, ziplining, and other actions right at the hotel we found that we really lacked for nothing. The staff was outstanding with everyday actions as well as special requests (we needed a cake for an anniversary and a birthday). Food was also very good and Almond Beach will be again on our list of places to visit. The only drawback was if u wanted a Starbucks-like coffee, you might be disappointed.

Just got back from Almond Beach for our daughter's wedding and it was a beautiful time. Everyone was so accommodating including groundskeepers, front desk people, servers at the restaurant and pool bar, the ladies at the spa and cafe. The rooms were clean and the beds were most comfortable. I wanted to give a big shout out to Felina who was our wedding planner. She did such a great job of everything and made our day memorable. I would highly recommend this resort to anyone who's looking for a relaxing vacation or a memorable wedding on a beach!

The staff at the resort made a great trip into an amazing, and unforgettable vacation! Their friendliest, and sincerity are unmatched in comparison to other vacations I have been on. I cannot say enough great things about the staff, and locals. After coming back to my home, I almost felt "homesick" not being there. I hope to come back soon, and see the amazing staff again! whoever does the hiring they are spot on with the people they choose, the staff are truly priceless, and what makes this place SO EXTRAORDINARY. Couple of shout outs! Marrianne (front desk/manager) I cannot even find words to describe how amazing, friendly, and hospitable she is! She makes it her personal goal that you have a the best experience ever! If there is anything she can do, she will do and with a happy smile on her face. Even if some last minute changes or issues come up, she will always take care of it, and tell you to go enjoy your time, and let her do the rest. Udel (tour guide) If you can get him on as your tour guide DO IT! He is native to that area, and brings with him no only an intimate knowledge of the area (flora / fauna) but a genuine love, and excitement to teach, and answer questions! Plus when we were doing the bio-luminescence tour there was a tree down blocking our way to the lagoon, but he knew another way! so we were the only ones out there for awhile. Udel's genuine love of all that is there is almost palpable, and made the whole experience one of the best I've ever had!

My family very much enjoyed our stay at and recommend Almond Beach Resort, Hopkins, Belize. Almond Beach is part of the Viva Belize group which in Hopkins and includes Jaguar Reef Lodge & Spa, Almond Beach, and Villa Margarita. We were there four nights: June 20-24, 2015. I used to go to the upper-mid level resorts in Mexico (20+ years ago) and locals' to upper level resorts in Costa Rica up to 10 years ago (but not CR's Ritz-Carlton). What I remember about those places is poor construction quality. Even recently build places had crumbling (looking? ) cement and poor attention-to-detail finishes. Not AB, JRL, nor WM. Everything I saw in WM was well made with quality materials, good workmanship, and attention to detail. I would not have made all the same materials choices, but I was shocked by the place given what I have come to expect. We booked via Almond Beach via Expedia but ended up in Villa Margarita room 101. ABR and JRL are adjacent properties which merged. VM, separated from ABR by a large beach house, is now part of the resort too. They all share a restaurant, check-in, and general hotel services. Our “ground” floor room had direct, unobstructed frontal views of the ocean (none of this peak or view of the ocean, this was full ocean front) with sliding glass doors opening onto a covered patio with high-quality patio furniture. The 15-20ft of patio ends and a really nice pool begins.

Great experience right from the day we landed in Belize on April 18, 2015. It was our anniversary week and it became memorable at Almond Beach Resort. Marianne, Mary and their staff at the resort were very friendly. Front desk people were always helpful. We were surprised by the manager with champagne, candle and flower décor on our bed on our anniversary. Massage on the dock was excellent. We had Anniversary Dinner on the dock, served by Lilly, visit by Marianne in Indian Kurta and visit by newly acquired friends, Michelle, Nick and Mariah. Our Casita (Guava) was truly oceanfront on the beach. Jerome brought coconut water for four days. Clarice, server at the restaurant always wore traditional Belizean dress. Juan at bar/pool was cheerful and friendly. Our tour guide coordinator, Gilroy went out of the box to plan our Blue Hole trip by charter plane the day we left Belize. Great experience with Pilot, Mark. Mercedes always remembered that my husband wanted water without ice and he did not eat breads or most of the carbs. Lilly knew that I love fresh lime juice. We said good bye to Almond Beach resort with the promise to return back one day.

Very nice experience in Belize. The staff was lovely, the property was pristine. We will definitely go back. If you want to have a fun day on the water, book "Luckie Tours", he took us out hand fishing for yellow tail, caught lobsters on the reef and then to a minute island where we ate the fish and lobster and went snorkeling. Pretty nice day.
