Review of Portofino Beach Resort 4*

First time to Belize — amazing country, beautiful, beautiful resort — perfect for my husband and I. Their are many beautiful countries and resorts in the world, but not all countries and resorts have the "staff" of Portofino Beach Resort and people make the best memories! That included ALL of the staff — from George helping with our golf cart and raking the 'beach beautiful' everyday, Nailea preparing our room beautifully with flowers and all the 'added' touches, restaurant and bar staff — Ivan, Marcelo, Roady, Marco and the list goes on and on… we had many meals and 'social' time at Portofino and all were delicious and everyone catered to our every request. Amazing dinner on the beach with the full moon with Marco was unforgettable. Our trip started with my online search of resorts and my decision was decided by the responsiveness and online relationship with Dorcas and Lorena — they're even more lovely in person! We arrived and Elmer was there to give us a ride by taxi to Mo for our first boat ride from San Pedro to Resort — again a great experience. Sabdi was waiting for us with clean wet towel scented with Eucalyptus to freshen our skin from salt water on boat ride… Sabdi attended to our every request, but most importantly with a smile and great attitude and perfect suggestions for our 'adventures' in Belize. And then there was Ms. Stephanie — full of fun and great at her job. Lorena was off during a couple of days during our visit and we missed her — she joined us for breakfast our last day! The wonderful people felt like friends and not 'staff' from the time we arrived… I will miss Belize and Portofino, but mostly the 'friends' I made — thank you! Hope to see you again.
