South Point Hotel Inc

My best friend and I spent Spring Break here and hated having to leave yesterday. The hotel is in the cut but it is SO beautiful and such a nice bohemian, islandy vibe. For us, it felt like a great location. It was easy for us to find drivers to pick us up and go place, the beach wasn't really far and Miami Beach is so nice! I swear I could've stayed all day and night. The food on the property was really good and the driiiiiiiiinks! We got a 2 bedroom suite because we were both doing some work from home things and it was perfect for us.
But the absolute best best best best best part of our stay at South Point was hands down the staff who was absolutely amazing, so kind, friendly, welcoming and gave us great recommendations. I really want to name all of them but I don't want to leave anybody out lol, just know that everyone from housekeeping, to the front desk, to the manager, and bar & restaurant are literally some of the best people! And we'll always stay there when we're in Barbados!

We were looking for a quiet, luxurious, boutique hotel to destress and relax away from the cold Canadian winter. We found this beautiful place after searching many islands. Just looking at the video struck a cord in our hearts and within days we were booked to enjoy our holiday. The grounds are like beautiful botanical gardens, providing shade, colour and visually stunning as we strolled around everyday. The lighting at night is perfect and there are singing frogs too. I have yet to see one. Tammy Ann, the General Manager does a fabulous job and staff are so terrific as well. We made so many friends with the staff and other guests, during our extended stay. We didn’t want to go home! We have found our home away from home and we will be back next year to this wonderful oasis and escape in the chaos of life.

From the moment I checked into my moldy, rundown room with the dirty floor, broken door locks, and nonfunctioning overhead light, I knew I would have to lower my expectations. While willing to overlook the signs of an aging property, this was just the beginning of my disappointment. It soon became clear that South Point Hotel is falling far short of its aspirational branding as a "luxury oasis. "
South Point is far from the tranquil oasis it lays claim to. If you're here to relax in a "secluded haven, " be aware that South Point's 3-bedroom suites attract large families with small children who will be making noise around the pool all day, and disrupting your quiet, romantic dinners in the evening. The hotel advertises its aspirations to be both quiet oasis AND family-friendly, but with no visible effort to manage the very different needs of these two disparate demographics. Buyer beware.
Another area where South Point falls short of its own hype is comfort. Other than loungers by the pool and a few scattered Adirondack chairs, there is nowhere to linger and relax. This also applies to your suite, where your choices include your bed, or one of several hard wooden chairs. The beach, such as it is, also lacks any shade, any seating, any comfort. The South Point website speaks of high thread count linens, but then pushes two smaller beds together with a lump in the middle and calls it a King. "Luxury" it isn't.
My biggest complaint is about smoking.

We were looking for a peaceful place to spend time together, destress and relax. We have been fortunate to vacation in many beautiful places & islands during the cold Canadian winters. This season, we badly needed tranquillity and quiet. Not easy to find, but suddenly this new “boutique” hotel in Christ Church, Barbados popped up in my search. We watched the video a few times and loved the look and feel of the hotel. We then made the call and booked it.
The moment we stepped into the inviting lobby, we were met with a warm welcome by the front desk. Once checked in, we were escorted to our pool view room. As we were walking to our room, it was like going through lush botanical gardens. Stunning landscape work! At night, everyone is serenaded back to their rooms by singing frogs, with the beautiful lighting…quite magical!
We met the General Manager, Tammy Ann the second evening and she was so helpful and kind, as were all of her staff. As we settled in for our 3 week stay, I could feel the stress leaving my body and a an old feeling called “relaxed” replacing it. My husband really needed distressing and got that same wonderful feeling. A short walk from the hotel you can sit on the beach with chairs and an umbrella supplied by the hotel and watch the waves splash into the shore. They have lots of people kite surfing and some people have seen turtles popped their heads up. We enjoying walking around looking at manicured gardens and the even have bananas growing!

“5 — Star Paradise! ”
We stayed at the South Point Hotel & Resort for a week and it exceeded our expectations! Walkable to a gorgeous beach plus an amazing pool and a top notch restaurant and bar. The Spa was an added highlight, so relaxing and refreshing! The staff went above and beyond and were super friendly! I mean it when I say this place had everything and more, can’t fault it! It was the perfect vacation and highly recommend for a relaxing getaway in Beautiful Barbados! ❤️

The hotel itself is attractive: spacious rooms, beautiful gardens, and a peaceful, relaxing atmosphere. Staff were generally friendly and helpful. The location is remote but we enjoyed coastal walks, time by the pool and balcony, and the nearby Surfers beach bar. Lunch at the pool bar was good, with decent food and service.
Unfortunately, several issues significantly detracted from the stay.
On New Year’s Day we dined at Driftwood, having been excited by the strong food reviews. The restaurant was clearly understaffed — only two waitresses covering a full restaurant on a public holiday, which was definitely poor planning. They did their best, but service was slow and requests were missed. The food was the biggest disappointment: a dry chicken and sweetcorn starter with a jar-tasting sauce and very little sweetcorn, followed by cold ribs, undercooked chips, a tiny portion of slaw, and an overall very dry meal.
Management acknowledged the issues and promised a refund. Nearly two weeks after providing my bank details and following up four times, I have received no response at all. This engagement has been frustrating and time-consuming, and reflects very poorly on the hotel’s professionalism.
Other issues:
• Photos show seating on the beach. In reality this does not exist.
• Housekeeping did not service our room until mid-afternoon on the first day, which was inconvenient as we were in the room. On the second day they didn’t come at all until we asked at 5pm.

I stayed here for seven nights in February and the experience was a study in contrasts. The property possesses several admirable qualities. The rooms are impressively spacious, the grounds are genuinely picturesque and the restaurant and bar staff demonstrate a level of warmth and graciousness that feels both sincere and consistent. Dante at the front desk deserves particular commendation for his professionalism and his willingness to assist in every conceivable way.
However, these strengths are repeatedly undermined by a number of operational shortcomings. Several members of the female front desk team displayed an attitude that was markedly unprofessional and downright rude, accompanied by instances of outright misinformation. Although we were handed a programme of events upon arrival, there was no orientation to the property at any stage. We discovered virtually every essential detail through conversations with other guests, including something as basic as how to access the private beach path. Only on our penultimate day did we learn that the bar hosts a daily happy hour, which speaks volumes about the lack of communication.
The lighting in the rooms was another unexpected frustration. The primary illumination in the kitchen area consisted of a single, startling overhead light that created a harsh and uninviting atmosphere.

I absolutely loved my stay. The staff are warm, welcoming, and genuinely caring. The property feels like a lovely little oasis, clean, new, and beautifully maintained. I will definitely be visiting again with my family. It is a wonderful place for families, couples, and retirees. There are also daily and weekly activities that make the experience even more enjoyable for guests.

We had a few hours to kill before our flight back home having arrived from Grenada at 1:30 pm.
So took a taxi from the airport to have lunch at The Driftwood restaurant at the hotel.
It is a 15 minute taxi ride from Grantley Adams.
The hotel struck us immediately as very clean and well kept with lovely grounds.
The reception staff were very helpful in storing our suitcases securely whilst we dined at the restaurant which overlooked the small pool.
There were seats around the side of the restaurant which does allow a glimpse of the ocean which would have been perfect though there was not too much shade and the immediate environment with storage containers was not as attractive.
The highlight was the amazing Melanie who made us very welcome.
The cocktails were good, the service excellent.
The food was good portion size and tasty, especially the soup.
The tuna was a little overcooked but I didn't specify that I liked my tuna rare.
We then had a lovely walk to the small but clean beach and also along the coast to the Surfers Bar.
A taxi took us back to the airport in 15 minutes.
All in all a lovely clean friendly hotel with a good restaurant and very good staff.

Beautiful hotel with a wonderfully maintained grounds — so many palms, cacti and floral plants.
Pool was great — love the eagle rays!
Rooms were clean and beds very comfortable.
Restaurant — pretty tasty food and nice drinks.
Enjoyed the stroll to the beach and managed to see 3 turtles.
The location is a little remote but it’s super quiet — all you can hear is the rustling of the palms, birds chirping and the sea crashing — BLISS.
The staff were amazing. In some areas (like the bar & and front desk) it would be helpful to have a staff member and with maybe someone helping it as it seemed a little chaotic when more the one person was serving drinks or checking in. But that’s minor in the grand scheme of things.

We stayed here for a whole week with our little daughter and had the best time in a perfect ocean view room. Literally every single staff member was professional, wholeheartedly supportive and welcoming. Don’t miss out on Oistins fish fry, particularly on Friday nights. Enjoy!

We decided to book a stay at South Point Hotel to celebrate my son’s 16th birthday. The hotel’s aesthetics are very pleasing, and it is exceptionally clean. What truly stood out to me was the service, especially from Kim and the other two servers whose names I did not catch. From our very first dinner, Kim and the other server created a warm and welcoming space for my family. They even added birthday glitter and a tablecloth to make the night extra special. Kim consistently demonstrated what exceptional service looks like, and it was evident throughout our entire stay-it wasn’t just for show.
On the other hand, there were a few drawbacks. All meals are a la carte, as there is no buffet available, and the costs seemed high relative to portion sizes-for example, I paid $28 for just three shrimp. The hotel could also improve its menu options, particularly by offering more lunch choices for children. Additionally, entertainment at the hotel is virtually non-existent, which is something families might want to consider.
Overall, while the service-especially from Kim was outstanding, the dining and entertainment options left room for improvement.

The room was amazing! Spacious, comfortable, we did not want to leave! The amenities were impressive as well!
The staff is fantastic! Attentive, kind, and very professional! Top tier hotel! 10/10 would recommend. I forgot a few small belongings there, and the staff were able to find it, store it and allow for it to be collected safely! Fantastic customer service!
Only caveat is the one access road that needs some TLC.

Fabulous boutique hotel. Very comfortable and spacious room. Beautiful setting. Quiet and relaxing. Unrushed yet responsive. Easy access from the airport. Staff worked very hard to make this a comfortable 5 star experience.

I had a “daycation” at South Point while visiting family in Barbados, and we had an amazing time. The hotel is beautiful and tastefully decorated. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The food was great at the Driftwood restaurant, and the salt water pool didn’t disappoint my two year old. As impressive as the hotel is, the staff made our time at the hotel truly memorable. From making the reservation via email with Nahila, to Melanie’s amazing service in the restaurant and the many others who were so gracious — this is a dream team! I would highly recommend this hotel to visitors and local Bajans looking for an on-island getaway.

As a sole traveller, I have been popping in to the South Point every time I'm on the island. On every occasion, staff have been nothing less than courteous and welcoming and noting that it's often devoid of guests (I'm literally the only person there — in and out of season) I have used it as a meeting place, inviting friends for drinks, breakfast and lunch and was even considering using it as a venue to host an upcoming birthday as well as a place for a group to stay next year.
In the UK and across the globe, I don't give it a second thought to asking for the venue Wi-Fi code, but today I brought a different device and in response to my request, was asked if I had a Corporate pass. I replied 'no' and was subsequently told that it had been 'noted' that I had been using the venue on numerous occasions without purchasing a pass. I don't know anyone who travels without some kind of device — phone, tablet etc and responded that having visited a number of times, I had never been told that a pass was required, or refused access, the Wi-Fi code has simply been shared. Apparently, the Corporate pass costs $50 for three hours and counting on his fingers, I was told that I'd been there for longer than the alloted time, followed by 'when will you be leaving? ' As usual, I was being joined by a friend but at this point, I messaged my friend, collected my belongings, paid my bill and called a taxi.

Everything was great until we were denied a simple request: to continue drinking tap water from the glass bottle on our terrace after dinner— we have been eating here 2 days in a row and will be the last time in our week stay. A very kind waitress, who provided excellent service, initially fulfilled our request. However, her manager, who hadn’t appeared before, suddenly intervened and said bottles couldn’t be taken out because guests might break them.
This reasoning felt unprofessional—especially considering that incidentals are already secured at check-in. It seemed more like an excuse than a valid concern. The request was made only because water hadn’t been replenished in the room. I’ve never been denied tap water before. Disappointing behavior from what I now consider a low-class hotel.
