Butterfly Beach Hotel

Great room. Wi-Fi excellent. Hotel was clean and tidy. Small beach attached to hotel was great. Location was good for Oistins. Staff at hotel were mostly disinterested and the male on reception downright rude. Dined in restaurant twice food was good. Overall enjoyed stay and would go back in the future.

Not great service unless you tip. I have just returned, December 25. The room had a roach. Loud guests next door. They refused to move me. I requested it three times. This is a self-catering establishment with a bar and shop. We were given gluten-free; they provided good pasta, that's it. Go to Massey's supermarket; either use the local bus or Uber. It was an okay holiday; I preferred the beach at Sea Breeze, and the beds were far more luxurious. Staff unless you tip are not friendly.

Not bad overall for the price. Staff weren't all that friendly. Was quite turned off by staff helping me hire car for few hours. One lady set it up, then cancelled 5 minutes before checkout. Next staff found someone who wanted to charge double the first one. Poor way to help guests.

Fabulous small hotel with the option of B&B, full board/half board or self catering. The room for 2 was a great size. View was ok but didnt spend much time there apart from after dark. There's a bus stop to the right of the entrance and plenty of ZR buses to take you anywhere on the island. A good sized pool for all ages, and a separate lane pool for adults only. 2 beaches either side of the back of the hotel, 2 sun decks and an added bonus of 3 whirlpools. There is a gift shop on site, which although small is stocked with pretty much anything you could wish for, from gifts for all ages to basic medications. The rooms were serviced each day and all had air conditioning and a TV, an iron and ironing board and a safe. Plenty of storage room for clothes too.

Returned from this trip yesterday and already booked up again for next year! Couldn't find a single fault with Butterfly Beach. Our room, which was a deluxe studio with ocean view, was exactly what you need. Comfortable bed, very clean, air con, a kitchenette and a balcony with a beautiful view. The staff were so friendly and helpful especially Yvette, Rudi, Tamara and John. Everything is maintained well within the hotel and the rooms were cleaned daily. There is a lovely pool to have a dip when it gets too hot, jacuzzis and of course its right on the beach. The food was also gorgeous. Can't wait to go back!

I recently stayed at the Butterfly Beach Hotel and overall, I had a pleasant experience and will recommend with a few notable pros and cons.
Pros:
The price was excellent for what we received, making it a great value option.
The location was convenient, close to everything we needed.
The kitchenette in our room was a great bonus and made our stay more comfortable.
A big shoutout to the staff and manager, who were honest and kind enough to keep jewelry safe after we forgot it at checkout. That really meant a lot.
I also celebrated my birthday during our stay and was pleasantly surprised with a complimentary bottle of wine.
Cons:
Upon arrival, the welcome was underwhelming. We had to greet the staff first, as they didn’t acknowledge us initially.
We were given a welcome drink, but there was no explanation, someone just placed it on the counter without saying anything. It felt impersonal.
While a few staff members were friendly, not all were welcoming, and the receptionist on the day we arrived wasn’t very pleasant.
The bathroom amenities were limited, only bar soap was provided, with no shampoo or conditioner.
The hotel is a bit dated, but for the price, it’s a fair trade-off.

Our stay at the Butterfly beach was quite unpleasant due to the rude and lazy staff. I have never received such poor service in a hotel before. From the reception, to the staff at the restaurant — they were very unhelpful and were very quick to get smart to a simple question. A receptionist raised her voice at me whilst checking in because I asked a simple question regarding our booking. 👎
Apart from that, the location is ok. No great restaurants around. It is on the main road so it’s easy to get buses/taxis. The hotel food was fairly basic.
The good things were the beach is lovely and the room was well stocked.
I personally wouldn’t stay here again due to the rude and unwelcoming staff.

We booked a superior Apartment for our honeymoon thinking they'll be plenty to do and see but it also gave us the option of having our own space if we wanted it. In reflection we should have booked a room with a beach view (something that wasn't mentioned to us on booking). The room was at the front of the block overlooking the car park and entrance. We got no sun on the balcony as it was all shaded and sun goes around the other side of the block. There is a fast road running past this place which is not quiet at all. Taxi/mini buses toot when passing eachother or when they see people they think needs a lift. The amount of cars passing is incredible.
Another point to add is that the walls seem fairly thin and you seem to be able to hear a lot, front and back all the time. The maids start with their noise around 8.30am and don't seem to do quiet cleaning.
There is not much in walking distance, the fish market was good and food has been excellent and is in walking distance. Another plus is there is a supermarket nearby too so if you wanted to self-cater then that easy to do. The beaches are fabulous but where the hotel is situated (which is on the rocks a little) the tide does come right in so from about 10.30am there is not really a beach unless you walk further along the bay.

This is a great location if you like the beach and sunbathing. The rooms are clean and the staff is helpful and friendly. We were given a heads-up that petty theft is a nuisance there. However, they have a security guard watching their beach and lounging area. We didn't have any issues.
The on site restaurant isn't the best, but because of the location, it is very convenient since you can enjoy the view of the ocean while dining. The service is not great but the food was good. We were told we couldn't use the happy hour price since it was 10 minutes too early sitting down. A very small fountain pop, full of ice was expensive and they wouldn't allow a free refill even though it was only about 6 oz.

We have been here twice now and are due to go again in December. The staff are great and very helpful and welcoming. The hotel is lovely, it's clean and tidy and in good location with the beach either side. It's good value for money. We always upgrade to the top room with balcony and sea view. Reef restaurant serves great food at great prices. Love it here and recommend.

What a wonderful hotel! On the beach, nice and small, rooms spacious with plenty of storage and good balcony size, housekeeping every day apart from the hurricane day! stayed with my husband and 16 year old. Staff were just amazing, very friendly, Lea on reception always had a smile and happy to help. Restaurant staff, Lynette, Deborah were just wonderful, very friendly and pleasant. Entertainment at night was ok, we had a half board meal plan, the food was just out of this world, plenty on your plate! Short walk to Oistins, would recommend using the white vans though on a hot day. Transport around the island is great! Public bus will take you to Speightstown for 3.50 bbds. We hired a car and went around the island, breathtaking scenery on some beaches. The hotel staff looked after us so well during hurricane Beryl, made sure we were fed and watered, cannot fault their care and attention to their guests during this. Would highly recommend this hotel and of course Barbados, been to a few Caribbean islands but this one just tops them all!
Will most definitely be returning in the future.

I have never had such an unpleasant experience with a hotel ever. This 3⭐️hotel would be 1⭐️in Europe. Read some reviews about welcome drink upon arrival, well it didn’t exist in our case. The room need a proper refurbishment, I felt like a time traveler who stuck in the 70’s cheap motel. Room cleaning quite poor, they didn’t change the bedding during our 6 night stay… not even once. Coffee mug left on TV stand without being washed. No vacuum, sweeping just only once, when we arrived back early afternoon and the cleaner was still there, so she had to do😂. Balcony chair was so dirty I couldn’t sit outside, not even once. I was killing at least 15 small cockroaches in the bathroom…nightmare. I was reading 5*reviews and I can’t believe my eyes. No way that reviews are genuine. Overall only 2 positive things: bed was comfy, and the AC was working properly, nothing else. I don’t recommend this hotel!

Our stay was very comfortable. We felt right at home and the hotel itself is really nice and in a great location.

Most welcoming hotel ive been to and ive been to quite a few most chilled out place amazing beach amazing weather staff are really helpful and friendly it's our 3rd time here and will definitely be back in the near future.
