Hidden Gem Barbados

This is a very interesting B&B with beautiful unique rooms. Ann-Marie and Ameena are the most gracious hosts and there is nothing that they can't do. When our flight home was cancelled at the last minute they scrambled to accommodate us.
This is much more than a typical B&B. They have a wonderful cook with an extensive menu of meals which were delicious.
It is a 10 minute walk to the Silver Rock Beach for swimming, relaxing, or watching the world class kite surfers.

Only spent one night, before take a cruise. We would be happy to spend a lot longer.
The hosts and the services are amazing, not to mention great food.

Oh Hidden Gem!
True to its name, but so much more. Words cannot fully capture the experience of this sanctuary. Thoughtfully and intentionally curated, the minute you walk in, you are transported to a realm of pure zen. Everything literally melts at the door. Our hostess Ann-Marie, an absolute gem, and a remarkable and caring soul. Similarly, Ameena and the staff are attentive, responsive and pure at heart. Hidden Gem is truly a home away from home.
Notwithstanding, you may be in for a surprise with your meals, especially dinner. Careful now! Your meal might completely disappear due in part to your tastebuds being transported to a realm of culinary excellence! In fact, my wife joked that it the Ghost of Voracia, had to have been the culprit, due to the speed with which the food disappeared from the plate!
Sidenote: ask about the bread pudding!
All in all, you will be left in absolute awe. Hidden Gem, all thumbs way up!

We needed a hotel the night before a cruise and looked for something in between the airport and the port. Kudos to my husband for finding this little oasis! It was perfect for us. Small, comfortable and friendly. Beautifully decorated and a great pool. And with a good restaurant. If you want a Holiday Inn experience, don’t go here!

My husband and I choose Hidden Gem as our honeymoon spot. It was suggested to us from one of my husband's friends. Every room had a different theme ours was the Paris room it was filled with pictures and ornaments of Paris, It was beautifully laid out. The service was amazing as well as the food. Will definitely come back for our Anniversary but try a different room for a different experience.

This location was very cute and decorated well! The hosts were nice when we arrived. However, there were a few issues which made our stay difficult and not pleasant. First, there are a ton of rules (no shoes in the house, can't go in the kitchen, etc. ). Second if you happen to leave on the air conditioner in your room and leave for any amount of time, they WILL go in your locked room to turn it off even though you paid for that space and any use of it during that time. Also, during our stay there was EXTREME construction noises ALL DAY making it extremely unbearable to be in our room for any amount of time, causing us to have to leave early due to the growing headache these very loud noises caused. The final issue we encountered was that there is NO hot water. So be prepared to take a cold shower when on this property!

The Hidden Gem is for sure hidden. A beautiful secluded space for family, friends, or even just individual relaxation. I attended a family reunion here and everything was PERFECT from the atmosphere, to setup, service and the friendliest and helpful of staff. The owner Ann-Marie was attentive and kind as ever, while Ameena was equally as kind and supportive to storing excess materials and positioning stations in the best areas. Not to mention Rudy, Corine and Chris were amazing and helpful with providing great service!
Highly recommend making this the spot to host your next event!

Hidden Gem is a 1000/10 when it comes to service and location. The name of the place truly speaks for itself and the pictures don’t do it any justice. I held my family reunion here and Ann-Marie, Ameena, Rudy, Coreen, and Kris went above and beyond when it came to service. They really exceeded my expectations and made it a memorable moment for my entire family. Please look no further when it comes to holding an event here. Hidden Gem is the place for you!

Tucked away along the coast, this spot truly lives up to its name. Hidden Gem is quietly nestled in a serene location, offering a peaceful escape with an ambience that soothes the soul. The aesthetic is effortlessly charming, thoughtfully designed and visually pleasing from every angle.
We went there for dinner. The host was an absolute delight; warm, welcoming and attentive without being overbearing. The drinks? A solid 10/10. Crafted with care and bursting with flavor. And the food? Phenomenal. Every bite was a reminder that this place isn’t just about ambiance. It delivers on taste, too.
If you’re looking for a place that feels like a secret worth sharing, this is it. We'll definitely be back.

We celebrated our daughter's 16th birthday there. We only used the pool area, but it was lovely. The pool was clean. The area was well decorated with more than enough seating, access to a fridge, and a very clean bathroom. Easy to locate and very safe environment. Well recommended.

We just returned from a 6-night stay at Hidden Gem and could not have been any happier with our experience. All of the other positive reviews written here are spot-on. Anne-Marie and Ameena are fabulous hosts; they were so kind and helpful, providing lots of suggestions as to things to do and see, and making arrangements for us (e. G. Half-day taxi tour, rum tasting, dinner reservations). The staff were great, with a special shout-out to Rudy who was so friendly and made the most delicious cocktails :)
Hidden Gem is located almost at the end of a road in a quiet residential area, just a stone's throw from the surf (no beach right at that spot, though). The rooms and the common exterior areas (a beautiful pool, plus a bar and an upstairs patio) are appealing and well maintained. If it's available, we'd recommend the Moroccan Room, as it is immediately adjacent to the upstairs patio. We enjoyed a variety of breakfasts each morning by the poolside, and dinners were a much-appreciated option on those evenings we weren't out doing something.
It's a 5-minute walk from Hidden Gem to the pick-up/drop-off location for the local minibus, which is an easy and inexpensive means to access Bridgetown, Oistins, and beaches off to the west.

Ameena and Ann-Marie to the rescue. After spending one night at an airbnb that was on an extremely busy road, we were fortunate to find Hidden Gem B&B. It was located in a very quiet residential part of Barbados. You can tell both ladies take great pride in the home and making sure it is well taken care of. This is not a fancy hotel but rather someone's home who has lovingly opened it up to strangers to stay in, so if you are looking for a Ritz-Carlton stay this is not the place for you. But if you want a place that is clean, well-maintained, has staff that truly cares about their guests, than look no further.

This is a continuation of my husband Laurence’s review below and a reply to the host’s response. I would not typically do this but I do not tolerate dishonesty and unprofessionalism.
Firstly, I want to address the lie the host told regarding our check out experience. My husband and I went downstairs to get our check out details and Ameena told us check out was at 11:30 am. She delivered that news in a very curt manner. We did not ask for a later check out nor did we insist on one. That is a lie. My husband looked at me and asked me “isn’t check out at noon? ” and I shrugged my shoulders before we walked away saying “Okay, we’ll be out by 11:30 am” in a cheerful and polite tone.
The host also lied about there having never been any complaints about the service at Hidden Gem. If you check the reviews on Booking. Com, you’ll see that is not the case. There is even a review that states the staff is flat out unfriendly.
The host also mentioned that our comment regarding the poor shape of the room was “a tad harsh” but the room is in fact in poor shape. In our initial review, we didn’t even mention that the toilet seat was broken and didn’t fit the toilet. You don’t need to stay at a hotel to expect a proper toilet. Additionally, mismatched, plastic clothes hangers from random clothing stores have no place in a b&b that costs as much as Hidden Gem does.
We stand by our initial review that highlighted the positives and was transparent about (most of) the negatives.

Hidden Gem is appropriately named. A beautiful home with guest rooms, each with a unique style. The remaining portions of the home are nicely appointed and very welcoming. The pool is crystal clear, and the pool area is relaxing, a perfect place to sunbathe, and enjoy a nice cold drink at the bar. Also know that you are literally a few steps from the ocean. Absolutely beautiful. The staff was welcoming, friendly, and accommodating. I really felt at home during my stay. Thank you, Ann-Marie, for your kindness, warm reception. And knowledge of the island's offerings. Such a pleasure and thank you for being an amazing hostess. We can't wait to visit again.

A fantastic little B&B and our host, Ameena, was wonderful. A really nice, well appointed room and freshly cooked breakfast. It’s close to a local bar, Buffys Bar, which serves good food and has a nice friendly, local vibe. Everyone was friendly and we felt like we were really part of the local community. There’s also a minimart next door to the bar.
Hidden Gem is close to the main highway and about 10-15 minutes from Oistins and Lawrence Gap. Thoroughly recommend.

Hidden Gen is exactly that. The grounds are beautiful, The food was the best on this side of the island. Fresh fish, delicious apps and wine was very reasonably priced! Service was great, meet the chef she was very friendly and kind. This area of the island is what Island life is about. Blending with locals and enjoying the slow pace. If you want busy and touristy this isnt it, yet if you like a blend of travelers and locals like us, this is your area. Nice and quiet with super ease to get to those areas that feel like home. This place gives you all of that.
