Lovely hotel with a great friendly and warm service level. I was concerned what the food would be like in this fully inclusive hotel but it has far exceeded my expectations — a good variation of choices with great flavours. The drinks offered are high quality including the wine and the cocktails are creative and free flowing. The Asian inspired restaurant UMI on site is exceptional. The beach area is great and offers good swimming. The staff on the beach are also friendly and helpful. The gym is also well fitted out with great air conditioning. I understand the hotel is family run and this shows through its friendly, well run and warm service levels. I will certainly be coming back.

Fabulous hotel with friendly staff especially the bar staff who work tirelessly. The only downside to our weeks stay was the seaweed which is quite deep on several days but the high tides naturally removed it so hardly had a factor to not recommend. Well done Sugar Bay team.

A beautiful family hotel with a lovely clean beach, safe for children with fabulous short from the staff. The rooms are a reasonably sized, clean and well looked after. Just ask if you need more towels. Food is superb in Reef restaurants and Umi despite Sizzle restaurants being a disappointment and simply a let down in comparison. Overall an excellent hotel,

I love this beautiful resort. The staff from the managers to the restaurant servers to the housekeeping to the front desk and also to the gift shop were all SO accommodating and friendly! I miss all these folks a lot. They became family in ten days that we were recently there and I highly recommend this beautifully amazing place. I will most definitely be back. I’m back in Alaska which is another amazing beautiful place just in a totally different way. I’ll see ya next time SugarBay Barbados! 😘

Everything about sugar bay is fantastic. Firstly the staff are amazing; all of them. Just genuinely nice people who care about you enjoying your holiday. Special mention to Romian. Can see why he always get employee of the month. The food is great, Caribbean night for the buffet was my favourite. Loads to do. In and lots very close to the hotel. We were lucky enough to see a baby turtle hatch, swim with them on the hotels beach and lots more.

I felt very special the moment I step foot in the hotel. The food I can't fault the best and choice was amazing. The beach the best very relaxing. My visit march 2019 a very special experience the evening entertainment was amazing thank you all at sugar bay Angela Amor. Hope to return with friends when this crisis is over xx.

My sister and I had the pleasure of spending just a day at this beautiful hotel to celebrate our birthdays in May. I've been planning on writing this review for some time, it was such a great time that we couldn't let it pass without telling others about it. The staff were beyond perfect! They were always smiling and pleasant and very nice! We even spent some time at the spa and are already planning our next trip. Kudos to all involved fantastic placenter!

This is probably the best hotel I've ever stayed at. The staff at the Sugar Bay are so good, they really are a true credit to the hotel. The food, drink, atmosphere, entertainment and quality of everything is first class. We had the best time here, nothing was too much trouble and there was always time for a smile and a chat.

5 days of pleasure. The food was great, all the different types of Rum were outstanding (but be careful because they'll sneak up on you). The common areas are always being moped and cleaned, the rooms are nicely cleaned without being intrusive, and the AC unit was always operation (I had to raise the temp sometimes because it was freezing). Clean pool, an abundance of beach chairs and cabanas. Small workout room but it didn't seem like to many people were using at the same time. Whenever I was using there were no more than 2 other people using at the same time. Also located in a great location as it pertains to touring the island. Not an adults only location but I would definitely stay again.

Our time at Sugar Bay was nice. The room was clean and spacious with a view of the "garden" and a semi-private balcony. The food was great though only served at certain times. (sometimes you just need a snack at 3:00 pm right? well not here…) The drinks, beach amenities and seating options were all on point. However, I have two complaints. For an all-inclusive, there certainly are a lot of restrictions on what is included. There are only two stand alone restaurants (Sizzler and Umi) in the resort aside from the buffet (The Reef) which you are limited to one visit at each during your stay. To go to one of the restaurants another time there is a $25 fee per person. Some of the items on the menus are also not included and if you want more than one appetizer or dessert, you also have to pay for that. For someone staying here for almost two weeks, that puts 40/42 meals spent there at the buffet. Lastly, my biggest complaint would be the service. While the front desk/concierge staff was awesome and super helpful, the serving staff were lackluster to say the least. At breakfast, they would seat you and leave. It was like pulling teeth to get coffee or tea and refills were non-existent unless you went to the bar yourself and even then you were scoffed at for doing it yourself. If you want a straw or extra napkins during your trip, forget it. Every now and then, you luck out with a great staff member so when you do count your blessings!

The staff were nice. Food was good. Small feeling hotel that restored our faith in all inclusive hotels. Beautiful beach and the surrounding area felt safe and pretty close to Bridgetown, St. Lawrence Gap and Oistins. I would certainly recommend it to anyone traveling to Barbados without hesitation!

The staff were amazing and attentive to details. Everyone was kind and courteous. The beach and the waves were to die for. My daughter and I were there for seven nights made special by the staff.
This trip was my third visit to Barbados and first to Sugar Bay.
Because I don’t drink, the mandatory all inclusive is not worth the cost to me. That was my only negative. We took several tours and all of the people we encountered were wonderful. It’s the only place I have visited where everyone is determined to make your encounter memorable.

An excellent support staff, the bartenders, food servers, cleaning staff and waiters. However, be very careful of the concierge and the Shift Leader. My group requested transport, the concierge/shift leader arranged a person that charged us triple the rate of a regular transport. We had hired a transport the night before which was the regular price. We knew something was wrong with the arranged concierge's transport driver price; we paid because we did not want to be rude. We asked the same shift leader at the front desk for transport to the airport. She sent the same person. We asked for a flat rate, which I knew what it was. The driver called more money than the flat rate, while she was "looking for the flat rate". We still ended up paying the price, though less than what we would have been charged if we had not asked for the flat rate. The food was very good. I recommend going to Collins Bar and Grill for lunch at least once. Sizzle and Umi are also excellent. There is not much to do at the resort compared to other resorts but if you are there to lie on the beach to tan and drink by the pool, then this is your place. It was a nice experience. I do not think I would go back for a second time.

Sugar Bay is a very relaxing resort located right on the beach. The welcome upon arrival is very warm and sets the tone for the overall experience at Sugar bay. All the staff are friendly and the service is quite professional. The rooms are updated a bit but this hotel tries to keep the original design elements as part of the decor. Live entertainment at the restaurants is a nice touch. The beach offers serene places to unwind and a man made barrier allows you to swim without being knocked over by the waves while maintaining the sleep inducing sound of crashing waves. The dinning experience is nice however during breakfast and lunch I would prefer not to compete with birds for my food. The food and drink choices are sufficient but don't expect this to compete with a Las Vegas buffet. When it comes to relaxation on the beach this is where Sugar bay shines. The place offers a multitude of relaxation spots and even has a wonderful spa on the compound. An overall happy experience. Thank you Sugar Bay.

My wife and I stayed here for our honeymoon. We arrived several hours early for check in and had to wait a long time before we were able to get a room. The hotel was quite apologetic though and comped us the early check in fee. This however was the only negative part of the trip as I must admit we had a wonderful time staying at this resort. The property is beautiful, it sits right on the beach and has 4 restaurants to choose from. The pool and other facilities are wonderful as well and special mention must be made of the spa which is where we got our complimentary couples massage that was truly one of the best we ever had. The food was wonderful and I think I put on at least 5 pounds during my short stay there. Make sure to check out the stake house, the oriental restaurant and of course Colin's bar for great meals. All in all a truly wonderful experience, I highly recommend it.

A fantastic hotel with the most amazing, friendly and helpful staff. Nothing is too much bother and they go out of their way to ask you about your day. The food is wonderful and they catered for my gluten intolerance superbly! Special thanks to Petol for looking after me. I highly recommend this hotel the beach is beautiful and the waiter in the beach is super polite and helpful.

We have just had a weeks holiday and I have to say it was just the best place, fantastic hotel, but what made it was the staff, all were brilliant, smiling and always on hand to attend to your every need, espicialy the beach boys from Colins Bar, drinks, cold towels and jelly shots.

Absolutely fabulous cannot fault a thing will deffo come back.

Just home in U. K. After a wonderful week at Sugar Bay for my daughter's 20th birthday celebration. From start to finish our expectations were exceeded on every level; customer service was outstanding from check-in to restaurant staff, bell-boys, room maids and water sports to bar staff. What struck us was the authenticity and genuine warmth of the staff who made us feel most welcome. My daughter's birthday was made so special with flowers, a personalised dessert and a jolly rendition of "Happy Birthday to You"… memorable indeed. We would highly recommend this fabulous place with its wonderful staff and not forgetting it's glorious beach to anyone… they've got it right here! Hope to return for New Year… thank you Sugar Bay! Our holiday was a blast!

Very happy with the room; the staff; the food; the drinks. The beach was not great. I would return and I would recommend.

We then after the sewage issue got moved to 326 even though we specifically said it had to be on the ground floor. No bell boy to help with the case across to the other side of the hotel. Not ideal for me that has serious problems with spine and mobility that gets worse through the day (it was 8pm at this time) and guess what… THE Wi-Fi DOESN'T Work. Couldn't write it. They moved us into a king-size bed room. When it's supposed to be a twin. So I slept on the couch for two days. Not exactly a relaxing stay. When it comes to the food and drink I've got a list of comments to make. I have a nut allergy, specific to almonds. I made them aware of this at time of booking and again at reception upon checking into the hotel. Not at ANY given point in the reef restaurant was I made aware of what I could or could not have. It was a mere guess and hope days. The bar beside reef annoyed the both of us. We both got cocktails that they mixed wrong and spotted that they used amaretto into the cocktails so obviously it was not suitable for me. The supervisor said it'll be fine… No it won't! So I got another drink and went back. So they then brought over a drink (watermelon punch? ) I took one drink and bang, started coughing like hell and throat closing up a bit. I knew instantly and ran (literally) back to the room to get my epi pen, made myself violently sick. Nice way to spend the afternoon isn't it?

There is nothing negative to report on our 10day holiday. The location is perfect with rooms, staff and food all excellent.

Good location on the beach with water sports available for free. Friendly staff members. 2 pools although one was not really used and very small. Lots of different restaurants on site all included in the all inclusive. And good cocktails with lots of Rum!

Located directly on the beach which offered a beautiful constant fresh breeze from the ocean so it wasn't stiffling hot. The food was fantastic with lots of variety every meals and always fresh. Staff was entertaining, friendly and professional. This resort is decorated with a modern beach feel, it's incredible classy and cozy and I can't wait to go back! We also enjoyed the Spa and excursions which was well priced.
