We came across this hotel when we noticed a sign out the front for free platypus spotting. We met Mark (owner) who took us to the river and spent about 45 with us looking for these lovely little creatures. He gave us a talk on different topics relevant to Deloraine as we strolled around the river. We then spent the next few hours in the hotel mixing with the locals and enjoying a wonderful meal. Loved the feel of the Empire and will definitely be visiting again when we return.

Beautiful building, room and shared kitchen and bathroom facilities. Very clean. Excellent continental breakfast included. Ate in the restaurant both nights and the food was absolutley amazing. Staff were super friendly and hospitable. The owner was kind enough to take us on a platypus hunt at the river.

The best neighbours! Really friendly staff and management. They make a great coffee, and go out of their way to make a soy dande-chino if you ask them too!

Excellent breakfast, I had bacon, mushrooms and eggs with a generous long black coffee. Could have been more generous with the bacon. Coffee and service are great.

Great family owned and run hotel! Very friendly & accommodating staff in this lovely authentic heritage style hotel. Rooms clean and comfortable with very good in house restaurant food and service. Ideal for families and single travellers alike with very good local knowledge. We stayed several nights and were treated like family. Deloraine is a beautiful town to visit with many attractions in town and close by, one being a platypus, if you are lucky. We would highly recommend the Empire Hotel Deloraine. January 2018.

Excellent place for lunch if you're in Deloraine. Particularly good for kids, with some toys coming to our table and nice kids portions. Friendly staff, good value.

This is a great little hotel. I didn't expect it to be as comfortable as it was. Fairly quiet (quieter than you expect for being above a pub) and a nice selection of food for breakfast. And it's great with small kids. They can go to bed, and you can stay up in the sitting room. The only (minor) issue is the water temperature in the shower is highly sensitive.

The staff have always been kind and friendly here, they stayed open past close to accommodate me and my friends. Definitely a great meal and environment.

Excellent food. Great price. Great service. Relaxed ambience with appropriate background music. Polished floor boards with open fireplace. A pub with some classic pub menu items but definitely not a pub meal. Real happy I chose to eat there for my honeymoon. Not many seats so book.

Empire hotel is a great place to go as the people are friendly and the food is good, a realy warm atmosphere.

Went in a few times while staying with family in Deloraine & always had fantastic service. I had lunch in the cafe one day, delicious fish & chips, the buffet dinner on Wednesday was great — hearty stews & casseroles. After dinner it was glorious to just sit by the fire with a cider & read my book. I was back on Friday for dinner & had the lamb shank which was so yummy! Multiple hot chocolates over the week were beautifully made & everyone was so friendly & helpful :) will definitely be going back.

We stayed one night for agfest. Lovely place in a cute town. The entire hotel was very neat & tidy. Our room was immaculate with crisp white sheets & comfy bed. Great selection of Tasmanian wine & scotch. Didn't hear the bar kicking on even though I am a light sleeper. The shared bathroom was very clean & we enjoyed the continental breakfast. Definitely recommend this hotel.
