Very special house with great atmosphere and very helpful staff.

A fantastic location to live and eat.

It was far too short… just one night… if we had known how beautiful it is we would have stayed longer. It wasn't the last time… absolutely recommended!

This is a secret place where I would hide in a comfortable chair behind a newspaper whilst dreaming up the Angelika Kauffmann Musical Plot. If you visit this famous Hotel look out for my ghost grinning as you rub your stomach after a fantastic dinner and settle down to read a good book. Maybe my book is on the shelf too. I had to laugh when I first came to write in Schwarzenberg that apparently Hemingway's Ghost was here before me so whistle a little tune for me when you switch out the light listening to the last echoes of the Schubertiade or perhaps one day to the cheers for Angelika Kauffmann Musical Best Wishes to a great Hotel.

Very well! Very good! Very comfort, beautiful, good welcome, (better to be invited) probably not given. But worth a visit.

Typical Hotel of the Alps. Well located for walking and skiing. There is no elevator.

Excellent food and drinks! We had a great evening.

We have been traveling to Austria for many years, but had never visited Bregenzerwald. Decided to stay at the Gasthof Hirschen in Schwarzenberg. Its an old, absolutely beautifully restored hotel, with an excellent restaurant and a wonderful buffet breakfast each morning. We were very comfortable in our corner room, and the staff were always helpful, congenial and courteous. I suspect Bregenzerwald gets overlooked by many Americans, as it was our first visit after 20+ years of traveling to Austria. It is a wonderful area, with plenty of hiking and other outdoor sports. And Schwarzenberg is close to the city of Bregenz. We spent 5 nights at the Hirschen and fully intend to return to this fabulous location. If you are looking for excellent accommodations in Bregenzerwald, we would highly recommend.

We were au a Vesper in the beer garden. The food and ambience were very good. Unfortunately, we had a very unfriendly operation.

Very big palate cinema
We were already eating three times in the deer within 10 months and it was always a pleasure. It may be that one or the other is at the small map, but this is exactly what I find so charming and sensational. This always guarantees the fantastic freshness of the ingredients, as well as the smooth process. Daily recommendations are often not on it at all. But there is something for every palate (even old tavern classics). Today I was convinced by the daily recommendations. Salad with fried porcini mushrooms, but also had to taste the carpaccio across the board. Of course, I had to try the Brätspätzlesoup as a "soup casper" and then have fun with the three-way rabbit. The greeting from the kitchen was an espuma with trout. Let's start with the summer salad with porcini mushrooms: Since the eye is known to eat with it, the sight was already wonderful and made you want more. Wonderfully matched dressing, which harmonized fantastically with the light roastaromas of the porcini mushrooms. The carpaccio was also a masterpiece I had never eaten before. Somewhat hidden under the beautifully prepared salad lay the special but very well marinated meat slices. These were cut a touch too thick for my taste (but this is now whining at the highest level). With the soups I am very critical, but also here one tasted immediately out that nothing is artificial, not salty or greasy simply a wonderfully classic Boullion.

We were there for dinner. It took us too long for the food to arrive. But it was excellent and we will be happy to come back!

Unbelievably beautiful family-run place in the historic center of Schwarzenberg, original wooden walls, ceilings and interior, excellent food and good vibes. One of a kind!

The landscape of the Bregenzerwald — is just gorgeous and the hospitality of the stag makes perfect the Idyll. A gorgeous old building, great service, comfortable rooms, quality cuisine. We are looking forward to coming back!

Wonderful as every year!

At the Alptag and market day was in spite of very large crowds, everything is well mastered! No to long waiting times, very good food and very friendly! A big praise!

Stay was very relaxing. Rooms were very clean, staff was friendly, the food in the Restaurant was very tasty. All in all, the vacation was perfect up to the summer unbearable temperatures in the rooms due to lack of air-conditioning systems. But would still come back here.

Good to stay on the day of Pentecost, in the historic house. Friendliness of staff, nice Breakfast buffet (especially the variety of Brotangebot! ) Cleanliness, value for money, free Parking — all agreed.

To me it has at the Hirschen Hotel is very well liked: the beautiful room with a great mattress, super Breakfast with a wonderful cheese and the unforgettable good food are just 3 of the reasons. Not to mention the friendly and attentive (but unobtrusive) staff in the Restaurant and in the Hotel. A dream.
