Chalet Hebalm

Nice natural campsite in the woods. Plenty of shade, and simple but nice facilities. Spaces to make fire available. Great for kids. The garbage disposal situation could be better. All waste bins overful, despite the place being half empty.

I liked the shade that camping had, although rainy days have gotten us, nice to know for ☀️ days. The showers are free and with hot water. Two WC facilities near our tent with place number 18. There you can also wash the dishes with hot water. Our kids plus some others constantly visited our neighbours kids, so I don't know… I guess – good for communication. But bad for neighbours perhaps, since they couldn't eat in peace.
There is a trampoline, some playground with slide.
I walked through the forest (90m up) to the Hebalm See (lake). The water was nice to refreshingly swim in mid July.
We paid 20 EUR per night for 2 adults, 1 and 4 y. O. With a tent, which I think is super price contrary to some other "fancy" campings with pool. Owner rides in the evening and gathers the tax :) You can pay with card too.
Some plots may be smaller ones for huge 14m² tent, just drive around and find one you like.
There is a restaurant nearby with homemade pizza and some other Austrian classics.
The berries in the forest are also nice bonus.
Easily worth coming back to explore more.

Excellent location on the edge of a picturesque forest, which looked like a winter fairytale in February. The chalets are fairly basic but very comfy and warm. For a group of 27 people, we hired several cabins that gave us both privacy and opportunity to dine together. Hans the caretaker is a great host who responded to our every request and went beyond the call of duty to pull my car out of the snow.
The chalets could do with handsoap and basic ingredients like salt & sugar for coffee. Minor issues, like a leaking radiator, were taken care of during our stay. The Wi-Fi was very slow and barely usable.
