A well situated nice, three star hotel near the castle. Spacious room and bathroom. Large, elegant shower, a large cabinet with shelves and large mirror above the sink. Rich and tasty buffet breakfast. Kind Hungarian staff. Private parking. It could be a perfect hotel if the owner, Ms. Gertraud Pfeifer knew the meaning of the word „hospitality”. There is no fridge in the guestrooms or anywhere in the guest areas! After 4 o’clock there is no staff in the 32 room hotel! There is a phone number that guests in need may call, but no one has picked it up for hours. When finally the owner called back, she got upset at our request that we would like to find a place for our food and icepacks. ”You should have said that at check-in! ” “I am not obligated to provide a fridge for you! ” We were begging her to find a solution and suggested some ideas: if no one was able to come back to the hotel and put our things in their large fridge in the kitchen, we offered to take our food to any address. She refused to help. We asked her to give us the phone number of any of her Hungarian speaking colleagues, thinking that getting help on our mother tongue, may be easier. She refused to do that also. So, we set on the edge of the beds and ate up what we could – the food we had for four people for a whole day excursion next day, some chocolate we bought for gifts. The rest spoiled and melt, as it was 30 C degrees. (Our financial loss was 120 euros. ) Why we ate sitting on the edge of the bed?
