I don’t want to set your expectations too high but I can’t praise this hotel enough. Remember you will be staying in an old building they have character. Having said that the room we were in was spacious, the bathroom well appointed. The breakfasts were one of the best I have had in Austria. Calm considerate staff all multilingual. I can only comment personally on their English and Italian which I found to be more than adequate. Though a little out of the heart of old town the hotel is a couple of steps from the funicular to the top of the schlossberg a very short walk to the lifts up through the mountain and the stairs up to the top. Also across the road toward the river and a short walk to the Island in the middle of the river Mur. Old town is a short and pleasant walk but the tram runs right past the front door. The staff will really make your stay at this hotel a great experience they are just the best.

One of the nicest hotels I’ve had the pleasure to visit. The rooms are clean and tidy and have a real charm about them. All around the hotel in and out the rooms, the walls are decorated with art. The owner has made a fantastic job of curating a real gem of a hotel, well done them.

I have been staying at the Schlossberg hotel for nearly 20 years. The staff is exceptional always; personable and always helpful with heartfelt smiles. The hotel is a true delight. Every room is unique and comfortable. The hotel is like an art gallery… originals, all beautiful and unique. The gardens above the hotel are not to be missed. Keep walking up and they unfold in a grand plan. Highest recommendation!

I adored this place. Beautiful artwork every where, the room was lovely, I had a great view outside my window. The food served was absolutely stunning and tasty.

Perfect spot to explore Graz. Right in the middle of things at the base of the mountain the castle is on. Quiet and has a fantastic art collection.
