We loved this hotel. Wonderful breakfasts. Cool old world bar. Close to the river and just across the foot bridge to Getridagasse shopping. And air conditioning!

We had one meal and then enjoyed a very large and good selection at the included breakfast with tour hotel stay. But the menu seems so fancy and they missed the mark on 2 omelettes which is supposedly a tell tale sign of true culinary skill. The dinner omelette was just completely overdone as was one for breakfast. The fish dish was a good attempt at something fancy but nothing I’d order again. The free starter of smoked salmon was a nice touch and had good flavor but I personally just don’t like cold smoked salmon very much. The strudel was the worst of 3 we had on the trip was greasy and not much filling. The bread at dinner and at the breakfast buffet was excellent.

Overall highly recommended.

Classics like Crepe Suzette are the hammer.

Perhaps you should tell the somewhat firmer gentleman in the service that you eat in the kitchen and don't quickly feel what's in your mouth in front of the guests in the restaurant.

Okay, a 5*hotel. But is it what makes such a hotel? Location: Central lyened with a view of Hohensalzburg Fortress — TOP! Ambience: Elegant and stylish, some bathrooms seem to have already been renovated. Staff: Very nice and courteous, only the bartender lacked some looseness! Food: At the breakfast buffet the 5* did not show up, but it was fine! Conclusion: Can you do 4* of me, even though DNA carriers from the maid were in the bathroom, the air conditioning for breakfast was too strong (better take a jacket with you) and the cash prices are "peppered".

A very stylish and atmospheric hotel with a history. Located in a fairly quiet location, but close to the waterfront and 7 minutes from the main part of the old town.

Super elegant city hotel for an unbelievably beautiful ambience! Spacious rooms, courteous staff and sensational views! We're happy to come back!

Very good hotel, own dog room for us. Unfortunately no freshly squeezed juices for breakfast. The reception is 6 star at friendliness.

A beautiful hotel. The ambiance is wonderful and the location perfect. The breakfast as the room were very nice.

The hotel is amazing and the rooms are very comfortable and beautifully decorated. Florenz (sp) at the front desk was very knowledgeable and extremely helpful with places to shop and stop for drinks and food and any of our requests. He is amazing. The restaurant is amazing and the staff was fantastic. I highly recommend the Hotel Bristol as a must stay when you are in Salzburg. Everyone there is top notch and made us feel at home. We can’t wait to go back. 6 Stars.

Ambience and location, friendliness and hospitality this is where the house scores, the time has stopped. Unfortunately, even in the maintenance of the ravages of time gnawing at the building and furnishings. The restaurant is good but now not 5 stars rather 4, the breakfast is not top, even the staff at breakfast was not fit that day, there is some air up. I give the 5 stars for the ambiance I like well.

Amazing food and service. Portions are reasonably sized. Bit pricey though. Clean restrooms. Ambiente not that good beacuse you don't have that much space. Overall If you want to get a good dinner/lunch and you don't have to look at the pricetag that carefully, thats your place to be.

Nice hotel with a great atmosphere in the heart of the old town of Salzburg. Of the Mirabell species is just around the corner.

Amazingly friendly staff, but rooms are a bit dated, albeit bigger than you'd expect. Air conditioning was insufficient and Wi-Fi was terrible. Lovely breakfast, outstanding bar drinks.

Amazing hotel with beautiful rooms. Each room has its own theme. The staff are very friendly with great English. Also is in a fantastic location in the city.

Not normally impressed by high end hotels but I enjoyed the Bristol. We paid probably the bottom end of their high prices, at 400 euro a room I might have had a different view. The rooms are not that large but big enough and decorated in an old fashioned but high end style. The bathroom is all mirrors and upmarket. The shower worked very well. The Wi-Fi is iffy, OK in certain parts, poor in others. The aircon was effective and quiet. A herb of pygmy elephants had been allowed into the room above ours, so some stamping and thumping was audible as they moved around. The staff were attentive and effective. The breakfast buffet had nothing other hotels would not claim, but actually everything was genuinely good quality. The English tea was very good and hot. The fruit was fresh, the croissant buttery. The location is good, though other top hotels have rooms looking out on the river. All in all a nice stay accepting that complaining about 250 euro a night as a discounted rate is a first world issue :-)

SMOKING ROOM! This place has a beautiful room near the restaurant that you can smoke in. The food is Michelin star class and the staff are very friendly. Unfortunately there was a loud, crass American in a baseball cap mouthing-off about his wealth when we were there — but that's not the Bristol's fault. A truly beautiful, independent Hotel with character. Hard to find such places in the modern franchised world. A must see — even if only for dinner.

The service at the this hotel was unbelievable and can't wait to go back and it so close to old town which great for us.

We stayed here 2 years ago when we went to Xmas markets, the hotel is so opulent, with lots of original features including creaking floor boards. Our room was out of this world, the staff very friendly and went that extra mile to make our stay so enjoyable, so sad to leave.

Everything is fine only if you need a nice bed, it happen to have noise when you lay on, and 2nd worst thing is you can't ever log in to their Wi-Fi and they don't have in room Internet, better buy your own data SIM before check in.

We've have stayed at the Bristol three times now and when we check-in its like coming home. The staff is welcoming and most importantly remembering! Though Gunter is no longer at the Sketch Bar he has been replaced by Ben every bit his equal in a different way; Peter the maitre d' is charming and runs a great restaurant operation. Marianna and the rest of the front desk are super and can't do enough to make sure everything with the stay is perfect. The rooms are large, comfortable and have a homey but elegant quality. Going to the Bristol is the way hotels were in the old days and frankly I'm all for the old days.
