We spent a week of our summer vacation here in August.
Beautiful traditional hotel that fits perfectly with the very warm hosts.
The whole Kohlmayr family and team is very friendly as we have rarely experienced before in a hotel. However, the Gustl stands out for its exceptionally warm, relaxed and also funny manner. I'm just saying 'get started right away'. We felt comfortable around. Also highly recommended is the very informative and delicious wine tasting with Gustl. The breakfast buffet and dinner has been very delicious. We also liked the game park, especially of course the fish ponds in which you can practically, through the clear water, choose any fish that is to be caught.
Very nice salmon trout, brown trout and char. But we also immediately closed our hearts to the countless little bunnies. The park is very well visited in good weather, it could well be a small entrance fee.
Untertauern is a good starting point for many beautiful excursion destinations in the region such as Obertauern (also great for marmots), Reiteralm, Dachstein, Gosausee or Salzburg and many more.
Actually, we rarely travel twice to a place, because there are simply too many destinations we still want to see. For the holiday hotel to the Post office and the Kohlmayr family, we will
but definitely make an exception. Gustl, we'll be back.
