➜ That was my birthplace and grew up there as well. Unfortunately, it's a dead place today. I can only visit my loved ones at the cemetery anymore. There is nothing left in Lackenhof on the Ötscher. No more restaurants. A small shop with coffee and also a small menu is the only one. All inns and guesthouses have been sold to Hungarians and Russians and are mostly closed. So our parents and grandparents would turn in the grave if they could see what had become of all that they had painstakingly built up. Now I have given myself some breathing space. It was a concern to me.
Unfortunately, it is not possible to evaluate. Just for the beautiful area.

We stayed 5 days in the church host. During this period, the church host was only managed by a service worker, in the evening supplemented by a waitress, neither the hotel manager nor a cook (! ) was on site. The service worker was very friendly and hard-working, but visibly overwhelmed. It is an imposition, as a paying guest, to make the choice of food on holiday dependent on whether one trusts the preparation of a lay/untrained cook! Our room was large and bright, but the hygiene was poor. As a hotel manager, leaving a single person completely alone despite several guests is, of course, completely incomprehensible, irresponsible and unprofessional.
