The staff are just wonderful. I take my Special Needs group there for lunch occasionally. They are treated with the utmost respect & made to feel even more special.

By far the most hospitable place we have stayed at. If by chance you’re in this area I would definitely recommend. Food was amazing, rooms were cleaned at a high standard everyday and most importantly the staff we so helpful, friendly and accommodating everyday we were there. Thanks heaps to all the staff at the royal exchange hotel. Hopefully we will be back there again.

Great place for a drink and a meal staff a friendly. Top pub.

Very cheap. You get what you pay for. No heater and it's freezing. Square box with a bed and tv. Bathroom has asylum shower fittings in it. Very heavily deodorized but still smell smokers smell in bedding. Pictures on internet look amazing. Nothing like the real thing. Its an old pub. Really old lamb dressed as mutton explains this place well.

Foods great bar is good accommodation upstairs is a practical but bit dated.

Stay here often for out of town work. Some of the comfiest mattresses I've experienced at a hotel coupled with a restaurant that consistently provides good value and tasteful dishes.

Service was friendly, beer was cold and the food was acceptable.

Just stayed there for a night, cane here for a wedding. Welcomed nicely by the lovely staff at the bar. The pub itself looks very nice!
We had the family room which was very inviting, extremely cosy. We felt very comfortable straight away. Everything in the room was very clean and crisp & well presented. And the bed is very comfortable
The whole accomodation vicinity is well looked after!
We are very fussy people and I got to say, for once we could not fault it, great value as well!

Friendly and very helpful staff, food and drinks were ready remarkably quickly and was also delicious! It's also a good looking and well preserved building with nice photos/paintings.

We were only in town long enough to enjoy a yummy lunch and a nice cold cider! Staff were also very pleasant! We'll be happy to go here again if ever back this way!

I work there two days a week and it is the best pub ever because to people are really nice.

Was there a few years ago. Cold beer. Friendly staff and amazing food. Highly recommend it to all who travel through the great little old town. If the chef that was there when I ate there, you're in for a treat.

Always love eating or socialising at the Exchange. Food and service is always great :)
