Wild Cattle Creek just doesn't get it right. We had the most lovely waiter but the kitchen let him down again. He made sure (double) of our order. Three quarters arrived. We were giving the kitchen some time but in the end had to ask for the forgotten course. Also twice now have assured us that they are vegan friendly but only the Dahl is. Always an issue to get a meal for a vegan… after we checked before booking in. I am getting a feeling that it is a issue with the kitchen management. (thought third time lucky) Wait staff tries.

We both enjoyed a delicious meal last night, overlooking the beautiful rose garden.

We had our wedding here in November and it was amazing. Beautiful venue. Fantastic food, and the staff went over and above to accomodate our every wish for our perfect day.

Had the $30 rib eye with fried and beans delivered on Saturday night. Everything from the phone call, delivery and food was amazing! Steak was cooked 100% to our liking. Very impressed. Will be ordering again. Thank you.

Have been here a couple of times and always enjoyed it. Today the food was good but unfortunately most of venue was shut off and with screaming kids and a duet it probably wasn’t my best time there. Will definitely go back but hopefully next time we won’t be in such a confined space and the parents with children will show a little respect to the other diners.

The menu on line is not the same at restaurant and then menu either did not have some selections available and at least 3 meals had alterations to them. A little expensive for what’s offered. Unfortunately for us customers had children and made the atmosphere disappointing due to noise level. 2 piece band set up while waiting for food and were not discreet. Overall disappointing.

The staff did an amazing job handling numerous customers complaining of no gravy or sauces.
For $145 per head I expected much more… not just the basics.
On a good not the seafood was lovely and the Tiramisu.

We visited Wild Cattle Creek last weekend and had a lovely time.
The wine tasting and our lunch was tasty and professionally done.
All the staff were friendly and helpful but we must make special mention of Leanne. Nothing was too much trouble and her suggestions for lunch were great. The four of us shared a antipasto platter beforehand and a dessert platter at the end of the meal. Both platters had a great selection and we were well and truely full by the time we walked back to the car.
I must mention two things extra. Firstly, we were using a voucher but were not made to feel as if things were done on the cheap and, secondly, Leanne showed a beautiful selection of handbags that you can use to chill and carry wine inside of them. — с Gay Lee Anne Kennedy.

My husband and I booked a night at Wild Cattle Creek this Saturday night just gone and the service and room we received was remarkable. We may have talked everyones ears off during the wine tasting (we don't get out much these days haha) but all the staff were absolutely fantastic. We had dinner at the restaurant, the steak was amazing and dessert was fantastic too. The Villa we had was BEAUTIFUL, views of the vineyard, a huge spa bath, comfortable bed and cute gas log fire. … Thanks so much for our stay, we have already been recommending you to others!

The cellar door experience here is second to none. Staff where so lovely, informative and happy to help in each and every way. Enjoyed a few wines and a stunning cheese platter. Highly recommended!

Stayed at Merlot cottage. Very much like home! Excellent provisions provided — eggs, bacon, tomatoes, massive load of bread, juice for a well equipped kitchen (gas stove, microwave oven, but lacking an oven). Big cottage, with lots of room, warm and well insulated. Big clean bathroom, great shower (no bath). Bed was massive and very very comfy. Iron provided! Thank you. Wifi had very poor signal, and the best place to obtain a signal was either standing up or on the side of an arm chair next to a table light. The lights could be changed to LED perhaps as the living / bedroom area was a bit dim. A bit of road noise on a weekday morning but otherwise very quiet. Overall an excellent place to stay, highly recommended for the hospitality and cottage amenities.

We had lunch at the restaurant and found it to be very average. It’s very noisy and fairly cheap/tacky decor. Food was ok, steak was significantly over cooked and deserts were a bit ‘meh’. Overall a bit disappointing.

Best Steak, Great views and South African Desert on the Menu. Make sure to match this with some Cattle Creek wine What a great afternoon.

We came for lunch. Our waitress was charming. Our entrees of Scallops and Fried Bree were amazing. The Steak, Kangaroo and Pork Belly were scrumptious. Desserts were spectacular and delicious works of art.
Slight problem with mistaken dessert and we were offered a coffee and macaroons while we waited. Wine was flavoursome. It would have been even better for one of our friends if they could have had a glass of Merlot from the cellar door which does not come on the restaurant menu. Efficient and friendly service. Food delicious. We shall return.

Absolutely perfect mother’s day today. Served by two fantastic women Houston and Dallas. Although their names were quirky their service was exemplary and they obviously loved their jobs. They were as wonderful as the vast array of foods they brought out! We will be back. Thank you ladies.

The food was fantastic, the desert was to die for, seriously this is a great restaurant. The chef Philip Botes is a great international cuisine master at his craft, knows how to cook a great steak and garnish and fuse the flavours of the side dishes, one of the best meals I have had. Highly recommended and the staff are great, Cathy went out of her way to help us choose the right wine, she knows her wines.

Lovely meals, great presentation and tasty, however, service was overly disappointing which put a damper on the whole day.
Took some time to be greeted on what seemed to be a quiet Sunday lunch, and then most of us were unsure about both drink ordering and items on the menu. We ended up asking whether drinks were part of table service or to be ordered separately at the bar, being told bar was probably the easier of the options.
The menu also offered ‘boards’, consisting of lamb, vegetarian etc but with no descriptions (given they are seasonal) but was not told of the specials board that gave the details of each dish. Would have been nice to be informed about both especially given there was 16 or so of us.
Placed our orders and purchased one of the cheese boards (but again and given the prices) would have expected the waiter to give a brief run through of what cheeses were on the board.
No dessert, tea, coffee offered nor were we asked at any stage how our meals were. Staff were friendly but huge lack/no service other than bringing our meals and taking orders which unfortunately deters many of us from returning this beautiful venue again.

Come for the wine. Stay for the food. Phil is a brilliant chef and there will always be something to tempt you. The staff are wonderful and oh, that wine isn't bad either!

Well, what can we say perfect for a couples retreat, or large family gatherings. Best Tapas ever.

Simply the best Steak joint in East Melbourne. We keep going back month after month. Best desserts ever.

The staff were very friendly and helpful. They assisted us with food choices for the child we had with us. The venue itself was very clean and well setout with a viewing area showing the working still.

We had lunch there on a cold wet day however they had a cosy wood fire going so it was very nice. The food and service were excellent.

A must needed day out with the girls yesterday … had a lovely savoury platter then followed by a dessert platter … with a sneaky wine … absolutely delicious and highly recommend … great service too … will be back for sure!

I was invited to present at a PD and the facilities were very impressive. Views were fantastic. The food wonderful. The day wound up with a wine tasting. I am considering revisiting and taking advantage of the accommodation. I feel it would be ideal for a weekend break.

Tess and I recently got married at Wild Cattle Creek Estate, we were looked after from start to finish by Brigette and the other staff. We had an inclusive package which made our lives very easy at a normally stressful and busy time. The venue was decorated to exactly how we wanted it, the food was perfect and the staff paid special attention to our guests, no task was to great. The vineyards and lake made for a beautiful backdrop and the restaurant was the perfect setting for our reception. Wild Cattle Creek helped make our day perfect and we cant thank the staff enough.

We celebrated a special birthday and the staff went out their way to make it such a special occasion right to supplying roses on the table. The food was superb and we moved to the wine tasting room where the service and wines exceptional. Thank you all for making my friend so happy.

Wonder staff, food (the best pork crackling) the accomodation great place, my daughter the bride had a wonderful experience.

It was really great and accommodated for our 1yr old with high chair and pram access. The food was brilliant I had the salmon was cooked perfectly family we were with commented on the lovely steaks. The only reason for not 5 stars was a long wait for the food to arrive. All staff were very friendly and chatty.

I attended a 30Th birthday with a few friends. Great wine, great service and also a lovely manager… I have also been there many times for dinner and the food is excellent.

Stopped here with no prior booking after a wine tasting trip and the food was fantastic. The scallops were amazing! The salmon was also very well prepared and was moist and flavoursome. The service is good and facilities are well maintained. It was not too busy either.

Surrounded by beautiful grounds this restaurant is definitely relaxing and offers a great dinning experience. The service was friendly though a little bit slow but it was very busy and my meal of the pork belly was amazing and delicious my partners meal was the confit chicken leg and was average for the price. I would return and try some more things out on the menu, the wines were extremely tasty and the service was helpful in picking the right ones for us.

My partner and I recently held our engagement party at WCC. Words and pictures alone do not do this place justice. From the minute we first set foot in the place, Heather and Kevin were the most professional, yet welcoming people. They took care of everything! I knew the night would be spectacular but they really went above and beyond in the preparation and the setting up of the night. Dean was also extremely helpful in ensuring that the night ran smoothly and without a hitch. And I can't forget to add the food. Amazing! I highly recommend this stunning venue to anyone and everyone.

Went there for a birthday party, and all I can say is just wow! Great food, and even better wine. One of the best shiraz I have had… Would definitely recommend going there, just the shiraz is so worth it.

I celebrated my son's 1st birthday with few friends and family. They made it memorable! Very comfortable accommodation, clean and tidy. Attention to details to suit guests staying in. kids friendly, and amazing views from our villas. such an amazing service from the most friendly staffs I have ever met in Australia! They went above and beyond to help all guests settle down and make each one of us comfortable. Nicci, the lead staff is such a warm person. Her service was exemplary! the support staffs were so friendly. The communication strategy for the whole staff was absolutely uniform. Dean humor is great!, Zoe was supporting the group too. In fact the whole crew is incredible! Heather must be proud to lead such a great team. Accommodation — 5 star. Service — 5 star Food — 5 star Ambiance — 5 star facilities — 5 star will surely come back and stay with family in near future. big thank you to everyone.

I went here for a special mother's day lunch and everyone loved it. Great friendly staff and great food. The eye fillet was cooked to perfection! They cater well to children, providing a high chair for our little one and also kids meals. Unfortunately the weather was very average but the grounds outside looked quite nice. They also catered well to one member of our party who has a number of intolerances. The Red Angus shiraz/Sangiovese/Cabernet is also top notch. Highly recommend.

Positions itself as a top quality restaurant, but the facade is thin. The room felt like it was missing atmosphere. The scant menu warns that the chef "intends the meals as they are", with no alterations. This severe warning on every page of the menu comes off a bit rude. The only vegetarian meal option is. Risotto. A bad joke? Or just an incredibly unimaginative chef? The gorgeous white tablecloths and formal service don't make up for tripping on a broken step, cheap upholstered chairs and even tacky home brand toilet spray on display. Worst though — I hurt my tooth on a hard piece of plastic frozen into my dessert. The only positive — our waitress was lovely.

We got married at WCC last year in December and decided to stay here for our first anniversary on the 2-night winery escape package. Dean, the restaurant manager, welcomed us and check-in was fuss-free. A tourist welcome package that included brochures on surrounding attractions and maps was given to us — very helpful! We stayed at Vineyard villa # 5, which is one of the 2-bedroom villas on the property. The villa is tastefully decorated, which reflects Heather's and Kevin's (owners of the estate) fine taste in all things. The furnishings are modern, villa is kept clean, and coupled with the serenity of the surroundings, we had a very sound sleep for the two nights, especially after a soak in the Jacuzzi spa. Ample brekkie items were provided and we had no trouble preparing our own brekkie using the very well-equipped kitchen. As for dinner, as much as we have missed (and still do! ) our wedding menu, we certainly enjoyed the steak and pork belly's replacement — the pork cutlet. Nikki was exceptional in her service and was very accommodating to our requests; she even went to the trouble of finding our wedding record as we couldn't remember which wines we had. It's rare to find such excellent staff like Dean and Nikki nowadays. All in all, I'd say you get what you pay for. The stay at WCC may not be as competitively priced as the others, but for the view, serenity, comfort, hospitality and food, I'd say the price is well worth it for a pampering experience.

Husband's birthday lunch was exquisite.

Our wedding was amazing, and this was due to the level of service and assistance provided by Heather on the lead up to the day and to both Heather, Dean and their fantastic staff on the day! All our guests raved that the food was amazing, and the warmth and welcoming staff just added to the whole experience, which was beautifully set on the balcony overlooking the vineyard. The accomodation is also beautiful, and a must stay if you are up in the Yarra Valley for the weekend! I have also eaten here on a number of occasions prior to our wedding day, and the food and wine is always fantastic! As a local I have been to a number of the wineries in the area, and Wild Cattle Creek Estate is by far the best, and also great value! I can not recommend Wild Cattle Creek Estate highly enough.

Heather, Kevin and Dean and the rest of the staff at Wild Cattle Creek Estate put all their effort and so much hard work into our wedding ceremony and reception on 23rd March 2013. It was the most fantastic day and enjoyed by every single one of our guests! Everyone was raving about the gorgeous venue and the high quality of service and the outstanding food delivered on the day! The ceremony set up and surrounding gardens and vines were picture perfect and we honestly can not thank Wild Cattle Creek Staff enough for making one of the most important days in our lives so memorable. 10/10 Wild Cattle Creek Estate!
