We stayed in one of the Miners Cottages at the Old Priory at Beechworth. The room was small and simple but we very much enjoyed our stay. The bedding was great and we had one of the best sleeps in a long time. The style is obviously to the period and older, so you have to go with the flow, but it has a great feel to it. It’s within walking distance of the town centre so great place to stay and go for a wander. No need to grab the car anymore once you’ve settled in. The bathroom is older and definitely of the period, and the shower is a bit of work, but having access to a private shower is awesome in this place. The tub is an old air down tub, which is awkward to shower in and probably the only real thing that can do with improvement, but I understand why it may be left to the period. The taps were broken and should really real replaced. Only thing I would really improve is to provide better shampoo, conditioner and body wash, which was very basic (sachets). Overall we quite enjoyed our stay at the Priory.
