Trawool Estate

I was attracted by the beautiful building, so we booked two nights for a weekend getaway. The building itself is stunning, and the surroundings are very nice. The room size was okay, and the overall condition was average. One issue was the hot water in the bathroom. It went cold for a minute or two during the shower, then came back.
The Wild Water restaurant is lovely, with large glass windows that let you enjoy the views while dining, which was a real highlight. The food was okay and quite normal. The waitress was friendly, which we appreciated.
When we arrived, the room was not ready yet. The outdoor chairs and table were still inside the room, and a staff member then came to set up the minibar. We also noticed some dead flies and bugs on the floor and bed, so we were not completely sure how well it had been cleaned. However, we did check in about half an hour early, so we did not mind too much.
The pool area was okay, but fairly standard.
Overall, the hotel is alright, but the experience would be much better with a warm and welcoming check-in and check-out, as we did not feel welcomed by the reception staff.
I would rate our stay 6 out of 10.

We had an absolutely wonderful stay at Trawool Estate — if you’re heading towards Seymour, you genuinely can’t miss this beautiful property. The location is perfect, the grounds are stunning, and everything felt calm, welcoming, and really well cared for.
The staff were fantastic throughout our visit — friendly, attentive, and professional — and the property itself is immaculately maintained. A special touch we loved was the Dindi Natural products, which made the stay feel even more thoughtful and luxurious.
A huge thank you to Wes and his team for making our stay so enjoyable. We’ll definitely be back and would recommend Trawool Estate to anyone looking for a memorable getaway.

Best kept secret in Victoria! Loved everything about this estate. The food the atmosphere, all top notch :). Will most certainly be back in the near future.

We stayed on New Years Eve and attended the Boogie Wonderland event. On arrival we struggled to find a staff member to check us in, then again couldn’t find anyone when we wanted to buy a drink at the bar. Our room was OK — the bed was comfy and the bathroom was very nice, but the carpet in the room was stained, the paint on the luggage rack was badly chipped, and the walls were dirty. It was a large-ish room, with more than enough space for a lounge or couple of armchairs, but there was nowhere to sit other than one desk chair. Our meal at the event was pretty average — we’ve eaten at Wild Water before, and it was lovely, but this was just…meh. Breakfast was very nice. Overall the experience was just pretty average. As Trawool Estate bills itself as a luxury location, and charges accordingly, we were disappointed, and would be unlikely to visit again.

Chris the manager delivers high quality service, showmanship and joy to this establishment, a true asset, the owners should work hard to hold on to this guy because without him and the head waiter (middle aged shaggy haired guy) the place would be soulless. ➕ Rooms are excellent despite not being able to open the balcony windows which is a pity, but I do understand being a heritage building the railings probably can't be altered and a baby could easily slip through and fall to their death. ➕ Bathrooms are brand new. ➕ Herb garden with weekend woodfired pizza is a dream.

Attended Christmas lunch with family. In short it was fantastic. Service was great, attentive but not over powering. Food was fantastic and plentiful for a fixed price seating: not even the teenage boys went away hungry.
The ‘resort’ itself looked very nice, though we didn’t stay there.
I will definitely be comming back to spend more time there I’m sure.

Just had the most amazing Christmas Lunch. 3 generous courses plus a delicious Christmas cocktail. The room looked beautiful and the food amazing. We’ll be talking about this for years to come.

We really enjoyed our stay here. The staff were all pleasant and accommodating, the rooms were spacious and pristine. Dinner at Turbine was very good. Breakfast at Wild Waters with the morning sun streaming through the windows as looked out at the hills — perfect.

Spent a night at Trawool Estate recently on the night of my wedding. My wife and I thought the staff service was friendly and professional as they always checked to see how were we.
The food was delicious. Will be coming back again sometime.

After driving past Trawool a dozen times or more over the years, we finally booked in for a night. We had an absolute blast. So many places to eat and drink, all warm and inviting during the colder months. The whole estate is immaculately refurbished, whilst maintaining the history of the building. The staff are amazing, friendly and welcoming. Trawool is perfect for a couples getaway or for getting a few friends together for a cocktail or two. Can't wait to return.

Trawool Estate was the first stop on our road trip through country Victoria. After competing with peak traffic and leaving behind concrete landscape we felt the stress dissipated once we were surrounded by fresh green rolling hills and towering eucalyptus trees. We approached Trawool Estate nestled with perfect backdrop of nature and were welcomed by friendly receptionist who made us feel special giving us upgrade to King Deluxe room. The building and interiors have been freshly renovated by new owners who have transformed Trawool Estate elegantly furnished. Our room was spacious and King bed was royal comfort. The grounds was pleasant to wander around and admire the mountain vista stroll around the lake or play tennis and tgo for a swim in the pool. They have outdoor eatery with the mountain vista backdrop Would be spectacular for summer nights but being 5degrees we were content to settle inside next to the warmth of the open fire place with our complimentary wine before dining. We ended our stay having breakfast in the floor to ceiling glass Wild Waters restaurant with the warmth of the morning winter sunshine. Enjoyed a barista coffee freshly squeezed orange juice and had choice from a la cart menu. All this was included in the Winter getaway package. Look on their website for new seasonal specials to entice you. We look forward to returning so we can catch a breath of freshness and give our brains a rest.

I have just spent 3 days at Trawool, what an absolute pleasure we had here. The staff were second to none, the food so amazing and the location is perfect for a recharge. I will definitely be returning (especially for the tapas), well done Trawool Estate.

Immediately welcomed by friendly staff, modern decor in a sweeping valley. The food was fantastic. We dined in both restaurants, Wild Grain and Turbine. The Tapas in Turbine was a highlight, particularly the lamb. Highly recommend.

We had a lovely stay at Trawool Estate. We were fortunate enough to book during a winter indulgence package which made our stay exceptional value.
The estate is well set out with a beautifully renovated interior. Our room was peaceful and quiet with a lovely view of the hills in the background.
We had fantastic service from all the staff who were warm and welcoming. Chris really made our stay fun with a lot of laughs and very attentive service.

We recently celebrated our eldest daughter’s 21st birthday at Trawool Estate and it was nothing short of magical. From the moment we arrived, the staff went above and beyond to make the day truly special. The venue itself is absolutely stunning surrounded by breathtaking views of the Trawool Valley, it created the perfect backdrop for such an important milestone.
The team’s attention to detail was incredible. Every element, from the freedom of styling the event space to the seamless service, reflected their commitment to excellence. The food and drinks were exceptional, full of flavor and the presentation was impeccable. Guests are still talking about the amazing canopies and drinks.
What stood out the most was the warm, genuine hospitality. The staff made us feel so welcome and ensured that everything ran smoothly, so we could simply relax and enjoy the celebration. They truly cared about creating an unforgettable experience for our daughters 21st they absolutely delivered.

We recently celebrated my sister’s 21st at Trawool Estate and I honestly can’t thank the team enough for making it such a magical night. From the beautiful setting to the warm and attentive staff, everything was absolutely perfect. The food and drinks were incredible, and every little detail was taken care of with so much care and professionalism. You truly helped create a night we’ll never forget.
We also stayed the night and the hotel rooms were absolutely stunning – modern, comfortable, and thoughtfully designed. Waking up to the gorgeous views and then heading to the buffet breakfast the next morning was the perfect way to wrap up such a special occasion. The breakfast spread was fresh, delicious, and had something for everyone.
Thank you to the entire team at Trawool Estate for helping create such an incredible experience we will be talking about it for years to come!

Came for a night with friends. Lovely location. Friendly staff. Wild water restaurant lovely. But… there was a birthday party on. We were all kept awake until 2am with loud music, yelling and swearing outside our room. No sign of any security. So what was meant to be a relaxing night was not at all. Dissapointing that we were not offered any sort of compensation for this as we paid good money for our accomodation only to get a couple of hours sleep! Will come back again in summer in hopes of a more peaceful night.
