BIG4 Taggerty Holiday Park

Exceptional customer service by Hayden and Sally, they were very friendly and willing to help. We stayed in a riverside cabin which was clean although a bit old, however it had a fully working Weber Q on the deck and a private fire drum right on the river bank.
There is also a massive communal fireplace in the park.
A plenty of options to spend your time — cricket ground, an outdoor movie theatre, tennis court, jumping pillow, swimming pool, table tennis, pedal carts, BBQ facilities and more.
I will be going there again.

It's a beautiful site for a caravan park. You are surrounded by green rolling hills, up close and personal with the cows, the Acheron river, plenty of space for the kids to run around and activities to do.
It has ALL the classic facilities, jumping pillow, playground, game room（free play), rickety pedal carts, big chess, mini golf, swimming pool, river play/swim/float, tennis court, DVD hire ~ so much to do!
We stayed at their 2 br unit (for 6 people — a queen and 4 bunks), probably their oldest one. It really brings you back in time, and most of everything works quite nicely. Kitchen was pretty well equipped with all the basic utensils, crockeries, pots and pans. Linens were clean, shower has great pressure!
The kids loved getting to know the pet cockies and talking to them!
Great location to base ourselves in, to do trips to Buxton, Eildon, Mansfield, Cathedral ranges, really soo much to do in the surrounding areas!

I have been camping at the big 4 Taggerty for 20 years now. I’ve seen all the changes happening from the facilities to the management and I can confidently say that where the park is today, is the best it’s possibly been.
The cabins are accomodating, the glamping tents are great for newbies (I love the ones on the river) and the facilities are clean and accommodating.
It’s 20 minutes from Marysville and 20 minutes from the town of Alexandra, it’s the perfect in the middle location to what you need when you’re enjoying a trip away from home 🏕️

The reason for the review is based on the four poor caged birds near the entrance. It was so horrible to see them in their sad enclosure with a few pathetic branches. This is a terrible life for them.
The actual site of the park is great and other than the birds we had a great time.

We recently stayed at this holiday park and unfortunately had a very distressing experience.
During our stay, my wife suffered severe food poisoning. It was a very difficult night, especially as we have a one-year-old baby. We chose not to leave the park in the middle of the night (at night the drive could be dangerous especially with a baby), and my wife struggled with her illness until morning. As a result, our baby did not sleep at all.
In the morning, despite my wife being extremely unwell, I began feeding our baby and cleaning the cabin as much as I could. I called reception because there were no cleaning products provided in the cabin and I needed something to clean the floor. I received no response, likely because it was before 9am. With a tired and unsettled baby and a sick wife, I still managed to wash the dishes and clean the kitchen area as best as I could.
When my wife’s condition worsened, I went to the office to explain the situation. I apologised for not being able to complete the cleaning. The staff member told me, “No worries, we understand your family situation. ” I thanked them and left.
However, two hours later, $200 was charged to my friend’s credit card who booked this place for us.
I wrote to management again explaining our circumstances, but I was told that “personal circumstances” are not considered in their decisions. The lack of empathy in that response was extremely disappointing.

We needed emergency accommodation to come up at the assist with the fire recovery and the accommodation was very accommodating.
The beds were not the most comfortable thing in the world and made it difficult to sleep leading to increased fatigue by the end of the 5 days.
We were hoping to work on site and Wi-Fi was advertised however the was no Wi-Fi in the room and very poor reception despite trying to contact the park this wasn't rectified.
Overall, it was okay for 5 days but would have been nicer for a bit more comfort and quality.

We had family who were camping here but we took a cabin. The cabin was spacious, sited by the river and wonderfully equipped.
It was spotlessly clean and the linen and towels were nicely laundered. There were plenty of chairs and tables both inside and on the patio. There was a gas barbaque and a fire basket, plus a fully fitted kitchen inside.
There is masses of parking, an excellent children's playground, pool, mini golf, bikes which could be hired from the very friendly staff.
We travelled from central Melbourne there by train and bus which took less than 3 hours and cost under $12 per adult.
Highly recommended.

Great place for a holiday, especially with kids. Had a great time in the pool and loved the giant bouncy pillow.

We had a camper and stayed on the end with powered air and river view. Very close to neighbours, glad we were at the end so had no one on one side of us which was good. Never stayed at at park before with the camper so didn't know what to expect, we prefer it bush and quiet with no neighbours so a bit she'll shocked but very nice view and holiday Park if you have kids. Easy check in and out.

I can't thank the hosts enough for their kindness and understanding, and I look forward to returning in the future!

My stay at BIG4 Taggerty Holiday Park was absolutely wonderful. The camping area was clean, peaceful, and perfect for a relaxing getaway. The staff were friendly and professional, and the location was beautiful and well-maintained. The whole environment felt safe, tidy, and very enjoyable. I truly loved my time here and would definitely come back again.

Lovely cabins, nice and warm, not modern but have everything you need. Great location for the snow and some really good trails. Ive changed my review because there was a power outage whilst we were there, I know its not the fault of the park but the fact they didnt do anything to make sure people were comfortable with no heating, no hot water and no power, was poor.

Stayed here for two nights in the 3br riverfront cabin, for a mini break to Mt Buller. We were a party of two adults and two kids, but could comfortably have fit another two adults and two kids if the kids were all happy to share in the bunk room. The cabin was spacious, comfortable and as per its description — literally RIGHT on the river, with the deck overlooking the banks. Our only complaint would be that the mattress on the queen bed was a little tired and dipped in the middle — so it could maybe use replacing. Also, as a family friendly place it might be a good idea to include kids plastic plates/bowls in the cabins? Or maybe other families' 3yos aren't as chaotic as ours and they don't worry about breakages as much as we do… 😅
Very friendly ducks and king parrots visited the grass outside bedroom windows, and kookaburras laughed in the mornings. The cabin had its own firepit which was a welcome addition on the chilly evenings. The grounds themselves are fantastic with their playground, pool, mini golf, giant games, outdoor cinema and jumping pillow, plus pedal carts. We barely got to utilise it all as we were there for such a short time but we were honestly so impressed. Staff were phenomenal. So, so friendly and helpful. I truly can't recommend it enough if you are looking for a low-key but still memorable and very fun family holiday/mini-break. We'll definitely be back!

Really lovely location, very nice to have the river running right past the park. The cabin we stayed in was ok, very dated and worn (in need of a refresh) but it was quite clean. The pedal cars aren't worth the $15 hire rate, they are falling apart and need to be scrapped. Otherwise pleasant and the customer service was ok as well. We'd have enjoyed the stay more if we were in our caravan.

Nicely maintained holiday park located very close to Cathedral Range hiking tracks, lots of facilities if you have little kids.
We stayed a couple nights in the riverside cabin. The cabin was just sparkling clean and all the staff I dealt with there were very lovely and helpful. If you can, I highly recommend staying next to the river in either a cabin, a glamping tent or just camp there, it is just very peaceful.

We booked accommodation at Big Taggerty for our wedding guests for the weekend and couldn’t be happier with how everything turned out. Our guests absolutely loved it, we had so many compliments on the comfort, setup, and beautiful location. It was the perfect place for everyone to relax and settle in for the weekend.
Sally was wonderful to deal with, so helpful, responsive, and organised throughout all the back-and-forth in the lead-up. She made coordinating the bookings a breeze, and we’re so grateful to her and the team for making it all run so smoothly.
