Beautiful old double story heritage building with beautiful, comfortable rooms with full ensuite. The rooms are very clean and have great air-conditioning. The views of the town are magic from the old balcony and to sit out there on a warm summer night was just magic. Mick the owner is so lovely, and more than helpful. I would recommend this place and will stay here again when I visit Rochester again. Thanks Mick!

Had a great stay here a few years ago and dropped by on occasion for a great pizza and wine. Owners are lovely.

Amazing service. Tanya and Mick are just so lovely. Were so welcoming to us on our wedding day and to all our family/friends. Pizzas were so yummy. Massive hit. Great function room with a good sized beer garden. The accomodation was comfortable and clean! Highly recommend.

Four of us arrived in the Heathcote region to pick some grapes and press some wine. We chose Rochester Wine Tavern as our accommodation and were simply bowled over by the genuine country hospitality of owner and host, Mick. Our airconditioned, neat and clean rooms were very comfortable and dinner on Saturday night featured some beautifully cooked steaks (featuring succulent Tasmanian beef) and fresh salads — naturally, matched with some terrific wines, all sourced from within 100klm. The kitchen was very flexible and even cooked up some boiled spuds to satisfy one of our group! Sunday saw us on a custom guided tour of some of Heathcote's boutique wineries in Mick's minibus and we arrived back at the Tavern exhausted and with a boot full of some great wines — can't beat local knowledge. If you are headed this way, don't pass by this place.
