Lovely accommodation in a lovely town. Well located, comfortable and clean, quiet and the best breakfast.

Had a wonderful stay at Merrijig Inn. Room was beautiful with the living room set up for the kids to sleep in. Dinner was spectacular. Every mouthful was delicious and they were so accommodating for my vegetarian son. Breakfast was delicious and service excellent. Such a special experience. We will be back.

We were lucky enough to get a table after being on a waiting list and it absolutely made our long weekend in Port Fairy. Cosy, comfortable atmosphere, great wine (go with their recommendations and you won’t regret it) and INCREDIBLE food. Fresh, local produce with a menu changing daily dependant on what is happening in the garden. We couldn’t fault it and will remember that meal for a long time.

Accommodation with character, fantastic food, excellent bar and wonderful staff. Just the ticket when touring the area.

My husband and I had the most wonderful stay at the Merrijig. It was off season and not many other people were staying so we got a free upgrade. The breakfast was divine and the staff were just wonderful. The garden is so cute too with their free range chickens!

My partner and I had the pleasure of dining at Merrijig this past Saturday evening. Beautiful fireside table in a cosy, welcoming dining room. Superb food, attentive, personalised service, with very nice extra touches, and a relaxed atmosphere made for a memorable evening. Well-worth making a booking, trust me!

Highly recommend this wonderful place — we had a quiet drink in the beer garden one afternoon and then back for dinner the following night. The staff (particularly Sarah and Leeroy) could not have been more welcoming and the food was amazing! We were a bit nervous about taking a 5 and 7 year old but ended up having a lovely family dinner. Thank you! We will be back.

Fabulous, quirky and old but with a modern touch. The restaurant uses fresh ingredients out of their garden. Some rooms are spacious and a couple upstairs in the attic area are small, but still have ensuite and worth the experience. A must!

Had dinner here last night and absolutely loved it. The staff were friendly, knowledgeable and passionate — They seemed like they loved their job. Every bit of food was outstanding! It was nice to eat somewhere that has excellent food which is not entirely formal. Very hard to come by. We highly recommend.

Its very rare I write a review, however I found our experience on Saturday night was so great I wanted to give some positive feedback.
The food was amazing, compliments to your chef! Everything was so delicious & could not fault a thing, perfection!
My biggest compliment goes to Sarah, one of your hostesses. She made our night. She was down to earth and knew her stuff! Worked hard to make sure every partron was looked after, while also chatting to us & was so friendly. Very confident about the menu, what wines worked with it etc.
She gave us a great recommendation for a local dairy because she knew my partner loves cheese, he bought some from the local IGA & loves it. Great community spirit!
Whilst she was a stand out, all your staff were attentive & could tell they loved working there.

We LOVED this place! The staff was extremely nice and kind. It's where we've received the best hospitality throughout our 25-day trip in Australia. We also had the best breakfast we have had in Australia here! The rooms in the original building are a bit small, but we thought it was nice and cozy. The decor is great and makes you feel at home. We really recommend staying here.

Great food with excellent service. The food is different; but all the flavours work well. The service was attentive without going overboard. The ambience of the place itself is one of real charm.

My room was small but super cozy. We had the chef’s choice for dinner and everything was a total surprise to us. The presentation, the taste, the atmosphere were amazing. I usually do not have desserts but I couldn’t resist. The pavlova was perfect! This is the best meal we had since we arrived in Australia on October 5th. Staffs are superb, very helpful and cheerful. Even my omelet in the morning was perfectly done, not dry and salty, just perfect! Coffee was good too!

We loved our stay at this quaint and comfy inn. The staff were friendly and welcoming, we were upgraded on checking in, and thoroughly enjoyed the extra space to relax in front of the fire. Breakfast is included in the accommodation, and it was so delicious, with fresh compotes home made jams and fresh bread, plus a hot dish was offered as well. We ate in the dining room on the Saturday night, and were blown away by the standard of food and service. These people are passionate about food and it shows. We loved our stay and loved Port Fairy, we certainly would stay here again.

This is a delightful place to stay in Port Fairy. It has character and charm with a quiet location just a brief walk to the main streets or beach and nature trails. The staff are very friendly and attentive, there is a very relaxed cosy atmosphere here. If you like nostalgia and romance combined with passionately prepared delicious food it's all waiting to embrace you right here.

Great place for a wedding! I recently had my ceremony and reception at the Merrijig. The staff were wonderful… took a lot of last minute jobs and did them themselves, without direction, and the place looked amazing! The food was brilliant and on the night all our guests were happy and relaxed. We booked out the accommodation for two nights and enjoyed the lovely rooms and the gorgeous cooked breakfast the next day! Thankyou so much everyone at the Merrijig for making our special day that extra bit special!

Absolutely fantastic stay. Rooms were super cute with en suite bathrooms and a shared area with comfy couches, a fireplace and a reading room. Breakfast was included which was fantastic and we also opted for dinner which was extremely high quality in both food and service. Can't recommend this place enough.

Stayed at Merrijig kitchen for 1 night while traveling along the Great Ocean Rd. The food was sensational. The service was warm and efficient. The room was warm and cosy and soooo cute. We absolutely recommend it.

Well I had a great 25th wedding anniversary dinner there with my husband. It's far better than it used to be. It's cleaner, well presented with nice ambiance the choice of cuisine was good and good value but most of all the food was perfectly cooked and presented. The place was almost full. I look forward to going back next time we have the opportunity. By the way it's now known as the Merrijig Kitchen. I have friends who have been to Port and the Merrijig before and after the change of management and they reckon it's been good all along. Now a bit cheaper and not so high end.

Not nearly as good as it used to be. The Quinlan's teak was chewy. The broccoli salad was very bland. The staff were disinterested and inattentive. Some table cloths would be nice.
