Review of Mantra Melbourne Melton 3*

This is referring to the poorly designed parking system that was put in place for the Annual New Year’s Eve celebration 2022 and also the Traffic controllers that were working that night. Parking in front of the Tabcorp building was so congested that it came to a point of literal road rage due to the standstill in traffic. People were waiting for nearly an hour with people exiting vehicles ready to cause mayhem. I walked to the front gate to see why there was a car stand still to find 3 traffic controllers standing in the front generously clearing the grass area car park first before letting cars from the congested area go through. When questioned about this they said “We about to leave in 15 minutes cause they don’t pay us overtime” or “The police are up there, nothing else we can do” Their attitude towards the matter was disgraceful. Only for an employee from Tabcorp who I believe was their Tabcorp point of contact informed them that there is congestion in the front car park and that they will need to let these cars go through first. They then allowed the cars to run freely only to have drivers of these cars verbally abuse the traffic controlled for near hour hold up. Not long after this they packed up and moved on, only to be found behind the Tabcorp sign at the front gate almost hiding from drivers. I’m not too sure what can be done here but their conduct and attitudes was quite poor. Also the design of the whole car park system was quite poor. I believe the last time we had the new years fireworks in 2020, the entry and exit roads in and out of tabcorp were both used as exits. Also would have helped having traffic controllers at both side of the car park to direct traffic instead of just at the front gate. But please refrain from using this traffic management group again. I think they’re “Astra Traffic Management. Feels like they have zero competency and take zero accountability.
