Great pub, never had a meal that wasn’t fantastic, great staff and atmosphere.

Our dining experience was delicious and well presented. The beer garden was a great venue to host our group party. Our waitress whilst efficient didn’t seem happy or want to be there I hope she is ok and treated well and perhaps followed up on how to have a much more cheerful disposition.

I would totally recommend the Glenferrie Hotel. Its a great place to meet friends and work colleagues.
The staff are fantastic and the food/drinks are excellent.

Staff at the undertaker said no, staff at the Glenferrie said, " sure we'll make room, come on in ". Helpfull staff brings in the business.

Delighted to have had my first pint since lockdown in the Glenferrie — it was immense Staff are lovely and had the best parma ever! Also felt very COVIDSafe — the beer garden is a gorgeous, sunny space.

Goenferrie Hotel are you kidding! Had the worst Oarma I’ve ever had. The cheese was way under grilled and the chicken was cold! Will never come back here mfor a feed. The only thing that tastes half decent is the carlton draught. Never go here please!

Do not go to this joint for anything than a quiet beer. The Parma’s were so underdone and came out cold. We had a few beers which were fine but the food was actually outrageously bad. We let them know about the food and they just said thanks we will let the chef know. Disgraceful

Always a great place to visit with plenty of bar tables, tables and chairs and areas where you can have some privacy. The waiting staff here are excellent and today I had matricana which was delicious and at $14 for lunch — very nice.
Located near the corner of Glenferrie Road in Hawthorn, there is good parking around the area although on a warm summer's night this place gets very busy. It's quite nice to sit out the front and soak up all that Hawthorn has to offer.
Will always return for a good meal and great atmosphere.

Went for dinner on Saturday night with family. Went early at 6.30 and already busy. Nice vibe and good selection of drinks. Must admit that the menu was not that exciting and probably a bit more expensive than I expected. Steak very expensive. Meals came quickly and were ok but nothing to rave about. Standard pub fare. On plus side, service and staff v good.

Such a gorgeous old style hotel. The staff were friendly and helpful. The room was clean and had such an old Melbourne feel about it. Best of all were the Tim Tams on the pillow. I'd definitely come back again. This hotel is a gem!

Really nice rooms and very clean. Lovely spa. Comfy bed. Only downside is bar across the road plays music quite loudly on a Saturday night til 1am.

Great place for a. Quick drink or a casual meal. Good happy hour specials. Shame not more casual (fireside) seating.

Great service with good quality and well priced pub food. Also a really nice space wit H a small fire place lit on cold days.

Rooms are really clean and well maintained. Abit dated as in some furnitures can be refurbished. The bed is the only downside as it is not the most comfortable. Location wise it is great, a lot of shops and restaurants in walking distance.

Still have the same tradition feel to it. Good options on beer and alchohol in general. Food was ok, the same good old pub meal vibe. I'd go there for the setting and nostalgia of Univ days.

Great venue for a quiet meal, drink or large gathering. It really is a jack of all trades pub, and a personal favourite place in the local area. Meals a tad pricey though, but quality of food is good.

Living locally, we've been here before, but our latest visit was disappointing. The venue has a good traditional feel, a great range of beers on tap and a nice beer garden at the back. We were there on a Sunday afternoon. Slow service at the unattended bar wasn't a good start. Then the meals, which were quite pricey but ordinary. Seafood pasta was a small serve and lacking flavour, no choice of tomato or oil based sauce — they do a rather bland tomato version which is inferior. But the scotch fillet steak was really poor quality meat, thin and fatty. For $39 you expect a really good steak and this was a massive fail. This venue needs to lift its game.

Overall a nice place to hang out with friends and have drinks. But did not really like the food. The quality was not as I had expected.

Was there for after-work-party drinks at the bar. Not a big fan of the atmosphere, the live music was good though. Plenty of beers and a couple ciders on tap. I've had lunch there before and that was nice.

After being double booked at a bar nearby, the Glenferrie Hotel saved my partners' birthday party. They arranged a table for us in an incredibly quick time and were able to cater to our group with exceptional staff and lovely service! Thank you Glenferrie Hotel for saving our night!

$16 parma night, parma, chips, salad and a beer wine or soft drink. Quick friendly service.

Atmosphere is good but the food I ordered was pretty bad. I ordered slow roasted lamb for Sunday Roast for 25 dollars. Presentation was bad and meat was dry. I wish had some more gravy on the meat. Overall, I would not recommend this place.

Nice heritage style pub. Came with in a small group with kids. Kids meals were generous. Adult meals were decent. Staff were friendly.

A bit of a gastro pub with a reasonable range of beers on tap. Grand old building with an interior to match. Not a bad spot for a beer or meal in Hawthorn.

Attended for a large group function for lunch on Sunday. Ordering was a bit slow with the large numbers. Kids fish and chips and pizzas were good value. The pasta special, beef ragu with parpadelle was delicious. Good value pub style meal in a traditional historic building.

Good service and extensive menu but stay away if you have food allergies. The chef and/or kitchen staff appear to have total lack of understanding about food cross-contamination. My husband is celiac and despite ordering what was supposedly gluten free items off the menu, he is at home sick as a dog. The general manager did apologise in a sort of passive aggressive way but that's hardly the point. Would not recommend to anyone. If Hawthorn has one thing, it's places to eat. So don't eat at the Glenferrie Hotel restaurant.

Great place for a drink, didn't have a meal, but menu looked good, staff were friendly and helpful, the place had a old world charm, can't wait to go back to have a meal.

Lovely we maintained older venue with a relaxed atmosphere. Plenty of room to have dinner or have a drink with friends. I had a chicken curry which was good and an apple crumble with vanilla ice cream and custard desert which was delicious.

Small outside area. Average happy hour but very pleasant staff.

Wednesday night parmi special :)

Had the chef's special Mystery Burger meal, was really nice and quiet a surprise. It's also the only bar I have ever seen with wine on tap, next to the beer. Quite a different idea!

Food is great but on the expensive side. We were there for Wednesday trivia which is always great. Nice atmosphere and friendly staff.

I am generally not the type of person to complain but when I do it is for a valid reason. The steak I ordered was without a doubt the worst steak I have ever had. It smelt and tasted like smoked fat. I am amazed how a piece of meat even though it was a medium rare can be so dry and leather-like in its texture. A $40 steak was a lot of money for what was a very substandard meal. Half the meal went to waste as it was inedible. I have eaten steaks at cheap $15 steak nights elsewhere and even they were of a much higher quality than the meal I presented with. My tip is to either get a better cut of meat or a better chef. I will not be back and certainly will not recommend your meals.

The Glenferrie hotel has a great setup but, very easy to miss when you're driving past. Ordered the chicken parmigiana. Very cheesy and meaty which was great. We also had the Salmon. Very small portion size. The salad was too small but, the salmon was cooked well.

Fancy, old Victorian style the rooms were large and are well kept and modernized.

Good venue, helpful staff, great location.
