Very dated broken shower dodgy attempts to make it look good. Broken lights and curtains. Gardens not maintained and rubbish, glasses and babies bottles outside our window. The bed was terrible I kept rolling to the middle. Very poor lighting and no full length mirror. Very dissatisfied for the price of these rooms.

Room was Smokey, shower cap had been put over top of Fire Alarm. Shower held together with a hair tie. Signs of mould. Very dated and very disappointed.

Had a great stay. Owner let us check in early. Very lovely service. Beds are comfy and room was large.

I was supposed to stay here with my husband for a wedding. I booked months in advance, as soon as I had been given the wedding date. The day before the wedding he calls me and says I can’t stay there… tries to tell me some nonsense about covid close contacts (was not making a shred of sense) I pressed him and said ok are you trying to say there’s someone staying there that’s a close contact? Or that one of your staff are close contacts? He says no no nothing confirmed but we are just taking the precaution so can you please cancel your booking and stay elsewhere… I said have you contacted all the guests because I knew a lot of the wedding party were to stay there. He says no and says he won’t be, I then responded saying ok so it’s just me that can’t stay? Weirdest conversation ever and in the end I just gave up and cancelled as it was going around in circles. Come to find out he had overbooked and so he had to cancel some bookings. Absolutely disgusting, just be honest and say you stuffed up instead of making up some lie about covid. I will never book with you again. So unprofessional.

Waste of time and money and I would never stay there in this lifetime again Smelly rooms (smells damp)
Pubic hair in the spa (was apparently cleaned that day prior to my arrival)
Toilet had? (well let’s not go there)
Tv didn’t work (oh hang on yes it did fit one hour)
The owner has a very poor standard of dealing with customer care and contact Point Blank I would suggest you don’t waste your time or hard earned money at this venue it’s rancid and filthy and the owners only care for profit not customer service.

Stayed last night (29/11/2020), it appears now to be home to a lot of undesirables. Who inexplicably were standing out front of my friends door as we tried to gain entry. My friend couldn’t gain access with her card so had to stay in our room although she had to contend with blood stained sheets. When we showed the manager in the morning, he didn’t seem concerned or offer any apology or refund for the state of the room. Was woken at 2:30am to a very loud domestic and two of our entourage called the police. Had genuine fears for our safety, this place is the pits. You couldn’t pay me $1000 to stay here ever again.

Stay here on Friday night good rooms nice quiet great price for the area will stay again.

Extremely disappointed in this place. When booking a family suite it was advertised on your website that all rooms (especially family suites) come with two complimentary breakfasts. When we enquired about this we were told that the website hasn’t been updated and that you were not willing to honour this. That is false advertising! None of the two air conditioners in our room worked either. You definitely need to work on your customer service and do not advertise things you are not willing to honour!

FOR a start make sure you have ingredients for the small menu.
Dont send out your young staff to tell that you have ran out of dishes an hour after we ordered.
Felt sorry for your staff but we had a really bad experience.

We booked the accommodation particularly as it has a restaurant. Even though the "Restaurant open" sign was blazing and our booking provided a dining discount we were informed when we went there that it was closed for a private dinner.
we had to drive some distance to get food and when we raised the matter with the staff they were at best average in their attitude.
Not recommended as a place to stay.

Only thing was office didn't own until 9:30 am we had to leave early. Otherwise very beautiful room. They tried to say we drank 3 beers when we don't drink. I objectected and they didn't charge me.

Fantastic stay before and after my wedding at Ballara Receptions. The staff were very helpful allowing us to use rooms to get bridal party ready and great pictures taken while getting ready.

Yesterday me and my family booked and paid 230 dollars for accommodation, and when we came to hotel and no one was there, all locked! We contacted 3 numbers and personal phone that was on display! We were waiting for 45 minutes with 2 kids under 4 years old on very cold weather! If you planning to trick people like this, then you shouldn't take payment when hotel is not open for business. shame on you! recommended to no one!

Nice hotel in a great area, it's not 24h reception but it's not a problem, clean, big rooms, bathroom a little dated.

We use eltham gateway hotel as a meeting center for our BNI meetings. They do a nice breakfast and provide tea coffee and juice. Good spot for a meeting.

Upgrading is well under way. Service and support very good. Clean and neat rooms and great breakfast included in the tariff.

We stayed in the Executive Suite. It was so much better than we expected. The room was very nice and clean bathroom which was perfect. I highly recommend staying here.

This hotel is dated room was dirty and rubbish that was outside entrance months ago still there. Promised king beds for friends who were meeting us and got two king singles. Definately not a romantic weekend away for them. Two stars are for staff friendliness.

A dated, unclean spiders fest! Nothing like the pictures on the website when we booked the marble suite online. Very disappointing, with the only redeeming quality the very friendly and helpful staff at the front desk.

The rooms are clean the noises in the night terrible. Animals running on the roof and pipe banging noises through out the night. I was one of the most noisiey places I've ever stayed I. I will never come back here again.

We had our son’s 18th Birthday party at Strada and it was superb and hassle free. Catering for nearly 100, 18 year olds isn’t an easy task and the staff couldn’t have been more friendly and welcoming. Amazing service, communication and facilities. Highly recommend and Natalie was just a gem from the initial booking right through to the event night.

Things were broken staff muddled up our booking to a fair while to sort out. Nice facilities but hard to find from the road.

The lady at reception was lovely, the rooms were clean and cozy, and breakfast was beautiful overall a good stay for what we needed… would stay again.

I would give this place no stars if I could, their staff are snobby and rude, and our ceoliac child was served good that we were told was gluten free and wasn't! The service was terrible and took an hour for one meal to come out. When that meal actually ended up coming out after everyone else had finished eating, it had bones all through it and tasted burnt and gross! This hotel is nothing like it used to be and I'm not impressed! One of the female staff in particular was completely rude and decided to mock our family and talk Behind my back when she thought I couldn't hear. I don't plan on coming back, Cya Eltham Hotel.

Nice, clean room. Pod coffee bit pricey $2.90 each. Dont get breakfast.

Nice place to stay very welcoming and clean, must say Though was a little annoyed that there wasn’t a full length mirror in the room. Not good when getting dressed for a special accasion.

Nice and spacious rooms. Clean and tidy.

Eltham gateway is easy to get to and provides great service.

Hotel room was lovely with good amenities. Unfortunately room was connected to the next by a door. A baby was situated there and cried all night. Sound was clear as anything and made for a disruptive sleep.

The Gateway is under renovation, so there are limited rooms. The renovated rooms that we saw were opulent, and I think, over done. The bathrooms have had a decent makeover, but the finishes are rough and haphazard. There was too much ambient lighting for the room, especially from the music system, which was glowing green, lighting up the whole room. The electric curtain were a nice touch, but some instruction without having to go through the guest instructions whould have been good; same with the transparent shower window that became opaque with switches. There is little parking outside rooms and in some cases a bit of a hike up stairs to get to some rooms. Thats ok if you dont have difficulty walking and its not raining. All in all, though, thestaff were great, location excellent for our needsand we would visit again.

Reception staff friendly. Good heating. Wi-Fi unusable. Room service expensive. Floor not vacuumed. Furniture and light fixtures need repair or replacement. Dusty if you look past the obvious areas. Daily cleaning inconsistent — on Sunday they didn't even come in at all. Carpets dirty. Old mattresses are lying about the grounds.

The beds were very hard and the couches were uncomfortable… not much relaxing in our room. Also — the room was advertised as having a kitchenette — but had no sink or area to prepare food. The reception staff were lovely though!

I recently invited one of my clients from America to visit and suggested the Eltham Gateway as it was in close proximity of where we would work. After having good reviews I had no problem recommending this hotel. Unfortunately the reviews must be for some other hotel. My client stayed for 6 nights and during that time only had his room made up once. Did not have his rubbish collected or dishes replaced. The hotel is also undergoing a renovation and instead of construction materials placed nicely in a skip and covered up, was thrown on the ground taking up 3 car parks which would be normally occupied by patrons. The outdoor space is also taken up with boxes and items for the renovation and therefore could not be used to sit and relax. The management really need a wake up lesson about how to treat guests because this is unacceptable and an embarrassment for me having recommended this hotel. You should be offering everyone an apology and refunding half the room rack rate for the inconvenience.

Bathroom was old hat and needs a makeover. Surrounds were quite pleasant. Starting to show it's age.

Went there for a training conference. Good service and efficiency.

Decent size. Food could have been improved. Drinks were a bit overpriced but overall great time.

Had my 50th Birthday party at Strada, and stayed the night in the Marble room. What amazing service, facilities and friendliness of the staff. Highly recommend! So accommodating!

Thankyou to the people at Eltham Gateway Motor Inn. I left my sunglasses and 2 shirts in our room recently and they posted them very quickly back to me. Ps rooms were very nice also.

Could be better but OK to stay if you need a place. Don't bother with the food.

We just stayed in the marble spa room, Beautiful! The decor was really nice, no cheap anything! The bedding was beautiful, lots of mirrors, so many pillows and the big spa (2 or 3 people) in the bedroom was awesome! The lounge was a decent size, really comfy couch fire place and decent size TV in lounge and another in the bedroom. Along with a large bathroom with a double shower. Would be great for a romantic weekend or just for something to do (like us) (: The staff are all very friendly/helpful (& funny). the whole experience was great! loved it and would definitely recommend the marble spa room anyways, the cheaper rooms dont look nearly as nice but for $200 for the marble its so worth it.
