Farm Stay

Lovely and clean cottages. The view from the cottage is breathtaking. Host were friendly and we enjoy a tour of the farm with Helen. We enjoy every moment of our stay there despite a wet and rainy day. Looking forward in coming back again.

What a gem! 100% on our return list, our children enjoyed exploring the farm and feeding the animals. We were dealt with a pretty impressive storm front that knocked out our power, but the fire place, the balcony, the cottage with a tin roof, the view and a nice bottle of wine made the experience perfection. Thank you Helen and Julian for opening your farm and allowing people to enjoy your little piece of heaven.

We had a beautiful time at Johanna River Farm. We stayed in Teatree cottage and it was a perfect stay for our little family including our dog Raven. We loved the cottage, it was very cosy (loved the fireplace) and the views are spectacular. We loved meeting all the animals and my son was happy to collect fresh eggs and feed the animals. The owners are welcoming and friendly. We will definitely be back. Thankyou.

Lovely cottage, beautiful views and lovely farm animals. Helen our host was so helpful and friendly. The dogs had a ball on the great walks, and on the beach at Johanna.

We had a great time, we stayed in tee tree cottage with our 2 small dogs and it was very comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked, the beds are comfortable and the whole cottage is very cosy. The view from the deck is spectacular and the setting is idyllic. We were made to feel very welcome, right down to the bedding and bowls provided for the dogs. The only drawback was the lack of handrail for the steps which are the only way to access the cottage. However, the owners were very responsive and we devised a workaround.
I would happily recommend this place to any of my friends and family, thank you Helen and Julian.

Dear Helen and Julian, wanted to thank you again for such a great stay with our two rascals. We felt very comfortable and secluded in the Acacia cottage, which was just what we wanted and perfect. Loved feeding the animals, collecting the eggs and walking around your gorgeous property. We have been telling everyone what a great time we had. We have stayed 3 days 2 night last week. Thoroughly enjoyed the warm cottage prepared by helen and Julian. Facilities and activites are great for kids with the sheep and dog as attraction. This is definately one place where we will recommend to our friend in future. If there is chance, we will like to visit again.

Fantastic place for a getaway farm retreat close to the Twelve Apostles and the Otway National Park and 5 minutes from Johanna Beach. This place is managed by owners Helen and Julian who were amazing and gracious hosts during our stay. We had a lot of fun feeding the farm animals, getting berries and herbs for our meals and fresh eggs from the chickens. We stayed at the Acacia Cottage which was private and secluded with a nice lake in the front. The cottage has everything you need. Helen was very thoughtful and had lots of useful information about the surrounding area. If you want a getaway from Melbourne while travelling the Great Ocean Road this is the place to be.

Amazing farm run by an incredible couple! Beautiful cosy cabins and lovely animals! A must see if you want a cheeky getaway or are cruising down the great Ocean road!

We all had an amazing time on the farm. The boys loved the animals and the sheep shearing. Lennox was fascinated with the Alpacas. The scenery was stunning and the cottage was perfect for a get away from the hustle and bustle of the city. Loved been able to pick fresh produce for cooking. Thanks to our hosts Helen and Julian you gave us real farm stay experience. Thanks to Zac for our guide tour of the farm. Will defiantly be back again.

Really enjoyed my stay at the farm, the scenery, the animals and the hosts were perfect! Love being away from the bustling life of the city, a really awesome place to rest and relax, without internet, it enabled me and my partner to spend quality time together with our phones away. Would definitely visit again, missing everything about the Farm stay, from the crops to the animals, and even Zac and Charlie Brown! Much love.

Johanna River Farm is a beautiful farm stay property, lovely gardens and rolling countryside with gorgeous views of the Great Southern Ocean in a fantastic location, central to so many Otway attractions both natural and commercial, and the best thing about the Otways is that the best things in it are free, waterfalls, rainforest and amazing coastline. Fantastic for families or a more intimate stay for couples. Your hosts at Johanna River Farm are just tops, friendly, considerate and caring, Helen and the team are genuinely passionate about your experience in their special region and are more than happy to recommend the best sites to see and things to do in the Otways.

Lovely owners on a lovely farm. We had the blue gum cabin cottage, which is fully equipped with its own fireplace, kitchenette laundry facilities. Awesome view of the farm from cottage window, with animals grazing right in front of the cottage. Fruits and veg on the farm are all yours to pick, so are the eggs from the chicken/duck coop. The owners will prepare buckets of animal feed and chopped carrots daily, so pop by the office to grab some.
