Three days wasn’t enough time to explore this wonderful area. My family had so much fun exploring the trails looking for wildflowers. A great time of year to come for a visit and we stayed in the deluxe en-suite room whilst the kids wanted to camp. We really enjoyed getting reacquainted with George and feeding the bettong. A unique experience with lovely hosts.

We celebrated Valentines Dinner at the Lodge and were very impressed with our meals! The sticky date pudding was by far the best I’ve ever had! The complimentary Moscato and Rose were a real treat! Highly recommend!

Peaceful and so green. Beautiful cafe with healthy and delicious food. Great coffee. Friendly staff.
The 1 day yoga retreat was fantastic. Ali did a great job with a big class. The day was so well organised. Thanks to all involved.

Such a fantastic day today at the Lodge Yoga Retreat. Ali was absolutely awesome… the yoga sessions were inspiring and so relaxing.
The whole program was amazing. Brilliant healthy food throughout the day, and such friendly and welcoming staff.

We had a great time celebrating my Dad’s 80th birthday and our family Christmas over a weekend in December. Friendly staff, lovely food, a great atmosphere and lots of room for our whole family to be together. Thank you to the Farinha family and all staff — including George the Emu of course!

Not enough staff to service the customers, a total disgrace.

Wifi poor signal. Haven’t TV in the room. Restaurant cooking was worse.

Best birdwatching. Amazing stars. So peaceful. Walk into the park. Quick drive to Arapiles. Friendly staff. Meals need to be ordered early in the day and paid for at the time. Wifi and phone reception very limited. I hope I can come again.

The fish I had there last night was amazing definitely one of the best I have had will be back :-)

The Little Desert Lodge is a must! Such a great place for families and to meet up with friends. Krista, Daniel, Michelle and Danielle are great hosts. It’s in such lovely nature surrounds, loved the bush walk.

We stayed over the weekend in a powered camp site. No allocated sites so it is just pull up wherever. Sites were ok, not the best. Rooms looked nice as to what others were staying in. Staff dissapeared on the Sunday and we were left by ourselves. Beautiful seeing that kangaroos coming in at night to graze on the lawns. Quiet and peaceful. A good place to retreat.

Good location, good food, various forms of accommodation, cabins, bunkrooms, campsites. Secure conservation zone, nature reserve, home to several endangered native species,

Great place to introduce kids to nature. Plenty of walks and bird life. Bit light on for amenities.

Friendly staff attended a birthday event meal was roast beef or roast turkey and gravy hot roast vegetables well presented baby pavlova with cream and icecream mixed berries or fruit salad with cream coffee and tea available as well as beer and wine to buy.

Beautiful area. Amazing views.

Getting back to nature, this lodge is modest but still very pleasant.

Curry dinner followed by a night walk through their creature petting zoo… great! Gracious hosts.

Visited the Little Desert Nature Lodge while travelling through Little Desert. Went on the nature walk through the reserve and saw several animals including an emu and wallaby.

We visited briefy to walk through the grounds. Really lovely!

GORDON RAMSAY needed immediately *** king suite=two single beds pushed together in a room that barely fits them. No TV in room. No hot water. Closest food is the servo 10km away. Broken white board and old vacuum left in walkway. I have spent over 200 nights in hotels in the past 3 years and this was the worst.

Great environment and friendly staff. Fabulous volunteers and animals on the tour.

That was very good experience. We loved the area, and nature.

Great stars would come back for more.

We were there summer 2013-14 and enjoyed our stay a lot. — The accommodation itself was great! Very nice place, good price, (a range of areas to suit different budgets) huge area to watch birds and see wildlife right on the property (with fox proof fence) AND being on the edge of the Little Desert NP was fantastic. — In terms of current owners, it is owned/run by Conservation Volunteers Australia so seems unlikely they are bad folks. When we were there they had recently installed a new manager. We felt he perhaps didn't know as much and was a bit out of his depth. Not bad, or purposely unhelpful, but not really all that knowledgeable. HOWEVER they had also not long before hired a ranger (I think his name was Pete? ) who was always on site and was extremely helpful and knowledgeable and bent over backwards to help us with everything we needed to know! He took us on spotlighting walks and drove over to the other huge 'fox free' area that Whimpey set up to look for Malleefowl and went on long walk with us there to show us the working mounds. Gave us directions to get to places in the Little Desert etc. He also showed us his amazing art work, aboriginal paintings, boomerangs and didgeridoos, very special! I would recommend the place.

Such a shame to see the lodge in its present state. Poor Whimpey Reichelt must cry himself to sleep every night; witnessing his legacy crumble at the hands of the lodge's new owners.

It's Changed — They now slaughter their wildlife.

My boyfriend and I are wildlife conservation enthusiasts from the UK and we were really looking at this place. But why would a serious nature conservation centre keep a pet dog? Disappointed.

This place is the best. Awesome environment great staff and fantastic rooms. What more could you ask for.

Fabulous time. Peter and Graeme were great.

Just love the natural beauty of the place!
