Great hosts of this charming hotel. Rooms were spacious and well appointed. Never used towels as soft as theirs. Warm and inviting lounge to sit and relax. Guest services managers Lucy and Ruffus were delightful. Would definitely stay here again. Sincere thanks 😊

I saw the Owner yell at kids for having fun and kick a dog while putting up no camping signs everywhere. Unbelievable to see one business single handedly destroy a town and cut off access to the Town to hundreds of people per year. Helped by the Owner being the Mayor to make decisions with a very big conflict of interest. I've been coming here for 33 years, my family has been coming for 35+ years. Due to the Owner of the Star hotel who happens to be the Mayor, this now can't happen.

What a stunning little village and equally beautiful hotel. Had a large room looking out over the main street and the dinner and breakfast was delicious — very accommodating with dietary requirements as well. We were welcomed and escorted to our room by one of hosts. A beautiful place to stay. Wish we could have stayed longer.

Quite and restful in a stunning setting. Close to all the tourist activities of the town and plenty of places to walk for the active. Everything is priced well and the staff are friendly and happy to help.

Finally ticked off the bucket list. We had a wonderful stay in a large and comfortable room that overlooked the heart of town. Dinner was lovely and set off with all the amazing artworks. Thanks guys. And Tilly! Beautiful hotel in a beautiful town.

Very nice food and a beautiful room.

What a wonderful way to complete an adventure in this tiny but beautiful town. It is redolent with history. The hosts were marvellous, and very importantly followed appropriate Covid protocols.

A gem of a place with chickens and a beautiful dog named Tilly. Our room was really quite lovely — large, warm, clean and comfortable with chocolates on the pillows. There was even a CD player in our room (and CD’s downstairs which we could borrow). The lounge space was also a nice place to hang out. Lots of books and magazines to read, board games to play, complimentary tea, coffee and biscuits, and a mini bar. No TV (which I didn’t miss at all) and the Wifi was excellent. Heaps of space in the dining room (loved the bar made out of rainwater tank corrugated iron) and breakfast and dinner were both delicious. Just a few good choices for dinner which is better because it means the food is fresh, it saves wastage and you don’t have to spend ages deciding. I liked everything on the menu but if you have dietary requirements you should advise this in advance. Given the challenges of the Coronavirus restrictions and us all needing to keep some distance from each other we thought Michael and Russell did an exceptional job of looking after us and making us feel very welcome. Thanks so much guys!

Lovely setting, staff, evening meal was really delicious. All needs were catered for, including shower chair for my Dad. Had a very nice visit.

What a fantastic place. We were looking to hold a conference somewhere that had been affected by the bushfires in order to get back out and help invest some $$ back into an affected community. While Walhalla had not been directly affected this year alot of tourists had stayed away and so we chose to give it a go and we were not disappointed.
This small boutique hotel in the historic town of Walhalla was perfect for our small group. We were meet with great hospitality from the Owners, spacious rooms, inspiring surrounds and great conference room facilities.
While we were there for work, I'll definetly be back for a personal visit. If you want to escape the hustle and bustle of the city and visit the historic gold mining town set in the picturesque hills of Walhalla then come check this place out. I promise you won't be disappointed.

Stayed here for the first time. I had booked a twin room but had meant a double and they were very kind to give us a double room.
We rode up on our motorcycle and we were allowed to park in their courtyard. It poured with rain & we knew the seat would be soaked. Once my husband went to get the bike he found the seat dry. Michael was kind enough to cover the seat with a garbage bag which kept it dry.
Thank you for a lovely stay & for that thoughtful gesture.

We loved our stay at the Walhalla Star. Michael was an incredibly welcoming host and the hotel has a real charm about it. We’re planning to head back up for a few days later in the year.

Love the town, love the Star and love the staff. Very knowledgeable, and extremely friendly. Have stayed many times and would recommend it to anyone. Oh, and dinner is great!

My mother organised her 87th birthday party here. She was getting a tad muddled. Michael did a fabulous job of helping her. We all had a great time, the food and accommodation were excellent, the service was wonderful. Thank you Michael and Russell. Good luck with the fire, stay safe.

Very enjoyable weekend escape. Walhalla would be a great to visit in each season. Star Hotel was so relaxing, central and the meals were delicious.

Michael & Russell are the perfect hosts, nothing is too much trouble. Our room was good & dinners when available were the best anywhere.

Overpriced. Rude staff. Avoid at all cost and stay in Erica for a third of the price!

We stayed for 2 nights and enjoyed our stay immensely. It was a quiet time for them so that was great for us. Pleasant facilities, spacious room and a great breakfast. Thanks.

A great weekend in Walhalla and at the Star Hotel. The room was large and comfortable. Dinner was good country fare and the continental breakfast was enough to get the body ready for walking adventures. The place is clean and the staff made sure that we didn't get lost on our walks.

Fantastc location. Spacious comfortable and wee fitted out rooms. Homely yet understated period chic decore. Lovely meals. Fully recommend for a romantic or family getaway experiences in a remote but historic location.

The Walhalla Star Hotel is very nice. One of the staff member told us to come back at 2pm to check in. The front door was locked. He then yelled at us because we rang the bell twice. He then had a really bad attitude showing us through to our room. He acts and looks unprofessional. The rooms are clean but you need to go out to the hallway to make coffee. There is only one key given for the room so that makes it hard if one person goes out because its needed to run the lights. Over priced for what it is. I can't see why it has such a high star rating. It really needs to get rid of that staff member.

Fantastic service and clean rooms. This is a rebuilt hotel based on the historical Walhalla's Star Hotel. It seems like it's the only building with a tiny bit of Telstra Mobile Service in the whole of Walhalla (still very weak though).

We had a great weekend at The Star Hotel in Walhalla recently. It is the second time we have stayed there and Michael and Russell are wonderful hosts. We loved our room and the food and wine served at the Hotel was beautiful. We will definitely be back :-)

Had a comfortable King bed and spacious room. Breakfast was nice, friendly staff and good location in town. Will definitely book again.

Beautiful historical hotel, with fire place, cozy and beautiful service excellent for a holiday away from the city, no cell phones coverage the small historical village around the hotel shows a piece of our nation's mining history.

This Hotel is very overpriced for what it is, basically everything in the hotel has been done on the cheap, from the Sopha's in the room to the $1.00 dollar reject shop shower curtains in the bathroom. Cheap carpet, Cheap curtains and a fridge placed on two pieces of cheap pine board in the rooms. Light fittings to toilet fittings all appeared to be the cheapest that money can buy. The Bathroom wasn't very clean and the cheap shower curtains had yellow stains on the bottom which was from mold and moisture. Bed's were quite good but the blankets and bed spreads looked like they were purchased at the $2.00 Dollar Shop. The BedsideTables were ugly, Breakfast was a very very very basic continental, coffee terrible (obviously) the coffee machine was a cheap home machine purchased from a seconds shop? The owners were very friendly, but its such a shame to see such a nice building so cheaply renovated Sorry but I wasn't impressed.

We arrived for a 2 night stay on a wet evening, to a very warm and friendly reception. Our room was on the top floor and had a nice view over the main street from the verandah. The room was warm, clean and the bed very comfortable. On our 2nd evening we dined at the Hotels Restaurant and found the food to be of excellent quality and the pricing very reasonable. The hotels owners do advise that their Restaurant menu is not "Pub" fare. We enjoyed the dishes we ordered. Overall we enjoyed our stay and look forward to returning, for the towns "Ljusfest" in the winter.

Great just don't eat meals there.

I live in erica about 12 mins away and I go there a lot.

Don't get caught out by this one! May look good from the outside but lacks character inside. Rates greatly outweigh what you get; no spa, single beds stuck together to make doubles, stale imitation croissants and dirty bathrooms. Add to this a $55 meal that consisted of pre-packaged foods, warmed in a microwave and shoved on a plate. If the pub down the road can cook real food in a real kitchen for less, then this place has no excuse! Do yourself a favor a book a nice little b&b before you come, they're much better value.
