Whites Corner – “4-Star Hotel”… What a Joke.
Our experience at Whites Corner was so bad that we didn’t stay at all. We left immediately and drove another 60 km to Central Highlands Motel in Miena — which, ironically, was cheaper, cleaner, far more comfortable, and gave us a fantastic night’s sleep in their beautiful lodges.
We requested a full refund, which we firmly believe is justified. In the end, we received nothing.
Here’s exactly why:
What Went Wrong – Our Experience.
• Wrong door code opened someone else’s property.
We tried the supplied entry code and it opened the neighbour’s door — not ours. Someone was inside the property, and we were mortified. Thankfully, he kindly came out and opened the side gate for us.
• Low door frames — I hit my head multiple times.
At 185 cm, I hit my head entering the side door. Later, I hit my head again walking into the bathroom due to the slanted ceiling. I couldn’t even stand upright in front of the mirror.
• Cleanliness was nowhere near 4-star standard.
After bringing our luggage inside, I killed several cockroaches and blowflies within minutes.
• Bedroom concerns.
The front bedroom had piles of old books, and my wife was understandably concerned about book lice.
• The final straw — the look on my wife’s face.
Seeing her sitting at the edge of the bed looking so upset made the decision for us. No one should feel that uncomfortable in accommodation they’ve paid for.
What We Did Next.
