Comfy cabins, great hosts, relaxed camp setting, huge clean communal kitchen.

Just got back from a long weekend here. Great little spot, super clean and cosy room. Big bed was very comfy, good facilities. Hosts Kristen and Don were lovely. Would recommend for sure!

It’s difficult to write a great review for Under the Mount without creating personal conflict. You see, I would love for everyone to experience the warm hospitality of Kristen and Don who have worked so hard to build this place, however, to do so, it would make it even more difficult for me to book in when I need to fix of Melrose and the southern Flinders. So…. I won’t mention how spotless the rooms are every time we visit.
You won’t hear from me about the fire pit and outdoor setting which brings a lovely country atmosphere to the evening gatherings after a bike ride.
I will keep quiet about the games room and bike wash.
No need to mention the great facilities in the huge undercover camp kitchen. I think it’s best you holiday somewhere else, where it won’t be as lovely and probably more expensive but at least I will be able to book a cabin when it suits me. :) Thanks Kristen and Don, look forward to next time.

Great location and loved the communal large kitchen and outdoor area. Superb for families and groups of people. The owners are warm and friendly and did I mention the serenity? Definitely will be back next time.

Fantastic four days so close to the trail head! Magic trails, Kristen and Don are so knowledgeable and friendly, and everything you could need is right there. Even a romantic fire pit, great for couples who love the mtb trails ❤️

Stayed at Under The Mount last year. Fantastic accomodation. “The Norton’s” were amazing hosts. Had a quiet beer with them and talked “all things bike”. I’ve stayed at a lot of places in my MTB adventures (Stromlo, Bright, Geelong, Apollo Bay, Grampians and Melrose) … no place better than Under The Mount.

Kristen and Don, it was great to meet you and thanks for having me. The accommodation was very comfortable and convenient. It was also great to have friendly hosts who are also into mountain bikes properly. Im looking forward to staying again and taking you up on a guided tour. It was a great trip and Melrose always rocks.

New but basic accommodation. Ok if you are into bike riding.

Brilliant. Everything you could want is here. Kristen is a great host. Communal kitchen is great. Beds are comfy. We will be back.

Awesome set up! Couldn't ask for a better place to stay, especially as a mount biker. Love the wash bay, fire pit and the riders who run it!

CLEAN, new and charachterfull. Great value, comprehensive facilities, great communal kitchen and comfortable bed. Lovely hosts. Don't get me wrong. This is not a luxurious resort but it offers everything you need and does it well without charging you an arm and a leg. 10/10 for value.

Very accomodating, family friendly and communal accommodation. Great if you're with kids and/or enjoy mountain biking.

What a fantastic place to stay. I love what you have done to the surrounds. The gorgeous wooden table and the amazing firepits with the beautiful rustic feel of nature around. The accomadation is top notch and five stars for cleaniless and a lovely modern feel. The communial kitchen / TV area was also so well done and was perfect for breakfast this morning before we headed off. My girls just loved the rustic barn and all that it had to offer. They played table tennis and darts till late last night. We will be back for sure. Thankyou again.

Great place. Everything is well thought about, nothing is missing. Tidy communal kitchen. Good washing machine, dryers and free Wi-Fi. Beautiful town with many walking /biking tracks. Option to rent bikes.

Had a fabulous weekend staying at Under the Mount for the Melrose Music Muster. What a beautiful little town with heaps to do & the beautiful Mt Remarkable! Six of us stayed in one of the bunk rooms. Fantastic room with our own toilet & shower. Comfy warm beds & heating kept our room toasty warm. Huge share kitchen with everything you need to cook. Even video games & a big TV! The awesome fire pit area was fantastic sitting around have a few beverages & a chat! Had an absolute ball! Thanks Donald & Kristen!

What a great way to spend some bonding time with my son. Walks, awesome bike rides (some hard, some more chilled) dinner at the local pub, hot chocolate at the bike shop. So much to do in such a gorgeous town. Staying at Under the Mount was perfect, fires to cook marshmallows, BBQ to feed a growing man, table tennis for even more entertainment and a very comfy bed to sleep. All this done on beautiful days while Adelaide was in the deepest of winter blues.
Great escape!
