The staff are very helpful and friendly. The beer at uncles is very cold. And the food is amazing. Breakfast at stumps is excellent and the coffee is to die for…

Worse stay eva rooms where not mantanied broken toilet aircon remote broken mold every where in one of the bathrooms had 2 rooms ppl outside of room 2 and has to call security heaps of times as we was just trying to get as much sleep before a 2 am wake to travel would not recommend this place 👎👎👎👎👎👎👎

Awful accommodation. Room smelled horrible. No TV remote. Split system air conditioning far too small for the room size.

Really lovely staff who try their very best to maximise your comfort while staying with them. They are responsive to any needs you may have. The rooms are clean and comfortable.
The only issue we experienced was the poor air conditioning in Uncles Tavern when it has more than a few people inside when it becomes unbearable.

My husband & I got stranded in Alice Springs due to car breakdown, being from Victoria during this time of "covid-19", The Diplomat Motel were more than happy & very accommodating to have us complete our full 2 weeks quarantine with them.
All staff & employees were wonderful & the accommodation was excellent also!
We'll definitely be staying at The Diplomat when we next need accommodation in the Alice!

The room was smelling bad and the toilet was not clean properly and the worst was the kettle was dirty. When I was about to use the kettle to boil water for my baby I saw inside the kettle was f***dirty.
I ask for a cot when I was doing the booking and it was never in the room I had to ask them again and oh God the cot was f*** dirty as well we are not going to stay there again never…

Stayed here with the family. This motel is absolutely amazing. The staff are all so accommodating and friendly. The best service we have had by far. Best spot for the red centre nats. Rooms were great for the price Thank you.

Location — fantastic! Close to everything.
Price — great value for what I wanted.
Staff — happy to help, polite and friendly.
Room — clean, tidy, neat and roomy. Bed amazingly comfy, room had all the comforts of home. Shower and bathroom products fantastic.
Pool — yet to try it but will show off my doggy paddle skills soon!

I went to Uncles Tavern. The Thai Beef Salad is lovely. Great flavors.

Great price and a great location. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Off street parking that seems reasonably secure. Very central with woolies and the mall only minutes walk away. Great tavern with meal specials almost everyday. Happy staff eager to help.

1 staff not very hospitable bar People waiting to be served ignored other lass under the pump keep stacking plastic cups then come behind bar No smile looks at folks says What do you want I said no way to greet a customer how about What can I get you would sound better! Then called attendant twice to UBET machine as wasn't working to do a bet Asked younger one she come out didn't know she asked a customer to show me he said left hand machine is a bit dodgy so used right hand side one. Older lady with glasses cleaning up told her what fella said re machine UBET wouldn't be happy with lack of experience with staff on betting side Lost 40$ of my money Because I unable to get assistance when needed 3 staff on 1 more interested in filling up a bucket for what ever. She should tip over her HEAD wake her up a bit to be on the job It's called hospitality not hostility from one who knows as been in hospitality 40 + yrs. She would be dismissed if worked for me. PIZZA was nice tho. I teach my staff to look at every person They serve as The person who is owns the place and give everyone great service as they pay your wages.

No frills and little dated, but still comfortable motel in the heart of the city. Good starting place for all kinds of activities, and has a great pub. Guess noise could be a problem in rooms above said bar, and the street noises can be heard in the rooms facing outward, but nothing too disturbing.

The Diplomat Motel is located in downtown Alice Springs, within a block or so of Woolies and Coles supermarkets, a bottle shop, the visitors centre, and lots of restaurants and shops. The Todd River, and the Anzac lookout (where people go to watch the sunset) are a little further, but still within walking distance. I stayed there twice, once in a standard room and once in a superior room. Both were clean and spacious. Shower pressure was a bit low, but water is in short supply in the desert. I was organizing food drops for the Larapinta Trail, and the reception staff were always super helpful with organizing the food drop containers, and storing my luggage while I was out on the trail.

Check in process easy with nice staff. Ordered room service which was delivered promptly despite being the busiest time. Room was ok, bathroom a little poor, but overall a nice stay and the most central location in Alice.

The room with air conditioning and bathroom is very correct.
The hotel's swimming pool allows you to cool off.
The restaurant Bar offers a few evenings with a good atmosphere.

Comfortable modern fitted rooms. Surprisingly comfortable rooms and free parking. The model is centrally located and has one of the better bars and restaurants in the town as part of the complex. The bar serves a great range of drinks at reasonable prices and often has live music.

Loved staying here! It's such a central location and they treated us really well. The design of the floor on the bathroom was the only thing we disliked, really — water flowed out of the shower and wet a large portion of the floor, which wasn't fun to navigate around. Otherwise highly recommended!

Nice hotel in good Location. It's only 5mn from shops and restaurants and 15mn from airport. You can have English breakfast next door. The room is large, the bed and bath are Ok, it would nice to be replace them. The staff is friendly.

Great central location but the rooms need some work. Dated bathroom with the most amazing water hammer I have ever heard. The aircon struggled to cool the room down and it's not even summer! The rooms also don't have any fans. Our room faced on to the main road and you could hear the Alice Springs night life like it was in the bed next to you. I would spend the extra money and stay somewhere else.

What ever you do DONT stay here My bag was ransacked my keys & ID were stolen & now have to changed my locks at home along with other ID toilet & rooms aren't clean not even at the "standard" level mould in & around shower ceiling & toilet In room phone doesn't work Beds? You are better off sleeping on the floor a lot firmer Try the pool? Seems like it an open house to any local Other than that Please enjoy your experience like I did Never never again.

Very good reception, hotel well located, spacious and clean rooms, bar and restaurant on site as well as swimming pool.

We had the best 4 days here :) The staff at the Tavern were amazing, friendly and very welcoming. The meals were so good! (thanks Tai) Secure parking, and being in the middle of town was fantastic as we could go every where on foot. The best experience and will only stay here when we decide to return to Alice.

Didn't stay there, just ate at the pub at the front. Great food. Amazing specials.

We got put in a room over the all the air conditioner motors, palm tree scratching on the roof, that we could handle and didnt complain however come to check out time I go to get our $200 deposit only to be told because I had used a facewasher to remove my makeup and it had some mascara on it we would need to pay a $5 cleaning fee! when I asked was she serious she said oh yes everything must be clean when you leave your room, When I mentioned the noise and the palm tree the receptionist just shrugged her shoulders. Not impressed at all! And no $5 isn't allot of money but I for one will never stay here again!

Quite good. Wi-Fi speed is sick! Amazing. Tavern downstairs is so good. And prestige location too. Room is a bit outdated and aircon doesn’t work very well.

First time in Alice Springs. Motel was clean, and smack bang In the center of town. Im really glad we ended up staying here instead of Hilton and all the other 5star hotels… because they are all so far away from town. Highly recommended.

Has been renovated since I stayed last and was quite comfortable for a short business stay. It's in a convenient location being right in town.

I stayed here Oct 26th & 27th. Room as clean but could do with some update. Curtains were tatty & torn in places. Kitchenette down light was blown & these should have been checked when room service. Staff were very friendly Breakfast should have been included. I would rate this as a 3 1/2 star as I have stayed in better places in central Aust for the amt I paid here. Tess from Adelaide.

We had two stays at the Diplomat Alice Springs, a total of three nights. Both the rooms we had where quite large, the beds were comfortable, and the bathrooms had been recently renovated (not sure though if this is the case for all rooms). I noticed that other reviewers had issues with noise. Being next to a pub, and on one of the main streets in Alice Springs, I can see that this is a potential issue. We also were initially concerned, especially there was loud music being played from the balcony in aid of the "Summernats 2017 Car Parade". Having said this, the music was turned off at a very reasonable time, and we had a good and restful sleep that night. If noise is a concern for you, just ask for a quiet room. Should we come back to The Alice, we will also return to the Diplomat.

Strong stench of ciggeret smell, old carpets and soggy beds awaits. Some have better beds and many have updated showers but more needs to be done. Noisy bar next door.

I loved it!.
It was only a Tuesday night & the atmosphere was great! I got a nice room with an awesome view of the town and ppl Wer just comming & going for dinner or drinks.
I would recommend it to my family & friends.

Right in the heart of Alice, rooms are basic but clean and well maintained. Good bar/restaurant downstairs. Has secure parking. Car park isn't huge, so suggest if you are towing a caravan to precheck they can accommodate your rig.

Spacious for solo traveller. Bed was firm but comfortable. Bar fridge, stocked with UHT milk only. Kettle. No toaster. Plenty of storage space. Generous size bathroom, with large shower with big shower head. Towels, face cloth, foot towels and hand towel included for complete bathroom comfort.

Good hotel in the heart of Alice. Friendly staff and clean rooms. The bed in our room was old, lumpy and uncomfortable though. The bar downstairs has great pub meals at reasonable prices.

Central location. Rooms were neat and tidy. Food, not so great. Veggie burger was ok. Caesar salad was terrible — it was drenched in dressing. Couldn't eat it. Had to put up with a smoker just outside our door. Swimming in smoke is not my thing.

We booked well in advance but were given a room right above the pub. That said the noise wasn't too bad. The amenities were fine for the price. Room service was very slow.

Reasonable accommodation and very handy to the local shopping vicinity — it's just across the road. Staff have always been helpful and friendly. Close to heaps of restaurants plus the hotel restaurant.

I have stayed few times and it has been so good but experience this time is bad. Manager said she spoke to me last night that I am not happy with my room so they decided to change my room grab all my things throw all my goodies, water, fruits, biscuits full packet without consulting me I am so angry very bad service this is done today 25/2/16staff has no communication skills at all.

Uncles Tavern : 30mn d'attente, des plats qu'on vous dit absent au moment de les récupérer et l'équipe est pas aimable. Sinon, c'est bon et il y a de la musique, rien de plus.

This review is for uncles tavern, cool place good for lunch ($10), decent drinks and spacious area. Food was pretty decent pub food.

The rooms are in need of a thorough cleaning and a unpleasant odour greets you upon first entering the room. We stayed on business many times, but won't again after the last (our room wan't cleaned, dirty toilet, old towels, large burn on top of bathroom sink) The staff are pleasant enough and the food at Uncles is really nice. But unfortunately, the rooms really are not good enough in terms of cleanliness. The king size bed is just two single mattresses atop a king size base, which is ok if you don't mind sleeping in the gap.

Uncles Tavern: The meal would be good if you would get it now we wait for 2 hours and we got nothing or only a few of our group. Some of US got it wrong or not all. Don't go there with more then 5 peoples.
Concerns uncles Tavern: the food would be good if we could get something. In the group we waited for 2 hours now and we have received only a part, or nothing at all. In groups larger than five recommend not to!
Too bad, but the service is abysmal.

The karaoke on Friday night's is great. We regularly get new songs. We aim to give the place a pub rock feel. There is always a great crowd. Come on down and sing a song;-).

Not bad for an average place. Always clean.
