We both had steak for lunch today. It was cooked to perfection. The salad, chips and mushroom gravy was also amazing. The staff were friendly and helpful. The pub had a relaxing vibe. So glad we decided to drop in and have lunch.

If you don’t get the beef schnitty you’re missing out! Best I’ve had and that mushroom sauce is the best I’ve ever eaten! Nxt Lvl.

The best garlic prawn pizza we have ever had, fabulous. Prices very fair.

Easy enough to find, very good food, and the staff are generally fun people to deal with, only real complaint is the wait as it can feel like time is dragging on, but I suppose that is the price for good food and drink.

Stopped for lunch here and so glad we did. Fresh made pizza was the absolute best that I have ever had. Huge amount of fresh toppings on supreme pizza. Gwenda Monro had Hawaiian and it was excellent also. Phyllis Monro had fresh sandwich and hot chips. Will be stopping on our way back from Airlie Beach following our adventure.

Great food friendly service by the bistro staff cant say the same about bar staff though. Walked in and both women just looked at me as if I had 2 heads. Eventually the younger of the 2 served me. Another customer was trying to engage the older of the women in conversation however she came across as rude and uninterested.

Been in twice, food is good value, well presented and the bistro staff are great. Can't say the same about the bar, seems the regulars get served first, couldn't make a lemon lime and bitters? then was served premium beer when asked for light, irresponsible when serving a driver!

Ned Kelly crumbed steak and the Bushmans steak ordered tonight. Beautifully presented, a massive meal (that I shared with hubby) son ate his own. Thanks for a delicious meal.

Beautiful rooms. The staff were friendly and helpful and dinner in the bistro was delicious and great value. If you’re looking for a cheap and comfortable stay in Proserpine, I would definitely recommend POW.

Very impressed, stayed in the double with my partner. Other than the confusion of where to get the key from it was a great stay. Clean and a beautiful room. "Room 9" not to mention I called mid day on the day we required a room. Highly recommended if you needed somewhere to stay. Thank you POW.

After a nice long ride in 30 degree heat we strolled in looking forward to a couple of nice cold beers… what a surprise … the guy at the bar standing right infront of us was too busy organising his potato chips… the fellow who's attention we finally caught explained that he was too busy to serve cos it was time to close the bistro door… and the young barmaid… not sure what she was doing but it didn't involve serving anybody… so after 8 or 9 minutes of standing patiently we decided there must be another option as we were thirsty as, so headed for The Grand Central where our goal was finally achieved!

Prince of Wales has always the place we end up if pub crawling. ;) Friendly staff and yummy food.

Poor service. We waited for over 45 minutes for our lunch order to arrive. We watched as tables that ordered after us were served. When our lunch finally arrived, there was no "thanks for your patience" from our waitress. When I asked what the delay was, she just said it was because of the cyclone. Made no sense, as that wouldn't explain why our order took so long yet other tables were served promptly. I didn't press the issue, just thanked her. Our orders were not complicated: a steak and a chicken sandwich. Food was not worth the wait. Steak was average, chicken sandwich was bland and rubbery and French fries were cold. Disappointing experience as I'd seen this place was ranked highly in some forums.
