Downs Motel

Sandy in the reception was the most helpful hostess you could ask for. Nothing was too much trouble for her. If if could give a higher rating for service I would.
The Downs Motel is a basic motel room having all you need and very clean.
The bed was comfortable. The shower took a little time for the hot water to come through but once there was plenty hot enough and great water pressure.
Breakfast, as far as I know, is only continental but well priced. This can be delivered to your room the night before so you can enjoy it at your leisure.
Location is on a main road and between shops however it was quiet and the parking for the shops provided extra parking for the motel, especially those with larger vehicles or small trucks.
I would stay there again without a second thought.
Wendy.

The room was well presented and clean. Price was reasonable and location was pretty good. Motel car park was small with plenty of parking out front of the motel.
Big draw back was the knock on the door at 9am to see if I had vacated. The worker tried to explain what happened but for me there is no excuse as I paid for the room until 10am and there did not appear to be any emergency.

My parents and I have stayed at the Downs Motel on several occasions. We keep coming back because of the lovely hosts, and because the rooms are always perfectly clean, comfortable and have everything we need. The beds are super comfy and the linen quality is excellent. I travel all over the world for work so have stayed in many different types of accommodation. I am rating The Downs Motel this highly because our overall experience is always so great. It is close to the Toowoomba hospital, and the main shopping area but is very quiet. We have stayed there during a very stressful time for our family. Our rooms always feel like a peaceful haven. We will undoubtedly be back.

If you’re looking for somewhere to stay on a budget, I could not recommend this place more. The rooms are clean and modern, and the location is hard to beat. The amazing customer service from the female owner is what really made our stay, she was kind and very accommodating to our needs (such as not sending in cleaners in the morning as I work late into the night). This has quickly become our go-to place to stay in Toowoomba.

This place is outrageous, my friend needed somewhere to stay and after he paid was told that the rooms air con worked occasionally, not allowed any visitors not allowed to make any noise and remove all and any rubbish he had, now the rubbish I can understand but the rest I cant … Oh and there are two single beds in the room but he is only allowed to use one bed, if he uses the other bed then he will be charged extra,
I would assume that $140 a night would not include so many restrictions. When we spoke to the lady she was very rude.
Never again I will not be recommending this place.

Sandy is such a pleasure to speak with, respectful and professional in dealings pertaining to any enquiries. I have stayed in numerous accommodation facilities in Toowoomba, including five star establishments. This is, by far, the most serene and friendly. Perhaps other businesses here on the Darling Downs should ask Sandy how best they, too, can exemplify her brilliant delivery of service and congenial disposition.

Quite affordable, convenient location and easy access to all nearby shops.

The downs motel is probably the best motel I’ve ever stayed at. Clean, good location, and they went above a beyond to make my anniversary very special. When I first entered the room they had cards and little treats awaiting me and my partner. Thank you!

We booked this hotel as somewhere cheap to stay for my birthday as all we were going to be using the room for was sleeping. We booked through a third party and there was nothing stating a security deposit of $300. My ID had been expired two weeks and even with proof of renewal and the drivers licence app the worker refused the ID and motel room. As we booked through a third party he instructed me to call them so I could cancel it as he couldn't do it on his end. In doing so he received an email and I relayed the message of what the third party was telling me to say and the worker snapped at me. He also refused to let us know his name. He was aggressive towards me (a women) yet when my partner was with me he was plesant. Ultimately we booked at a nicer hotel. We have stayed at this property before and the rooms are outdated and the whole place is run down. I left crying on my birthday extremely stressed out and intimidated. I have a lot of friends and family who come to toowoomba for trips and I'll forever tell them to never give their money and business to this hotel.

Great service and excellent customer service motel accommodation serviced daily very clean.

The room was great, well cleaned up, service was by the receptionist. Parking was just outside the room, easy to access, lot of Parking was available just outside the motel. The price was reasonable.

Make sure to check the price this motel charges — we booked a room for work but as this place was the only place left due to Farm Fest being held in Toowoomba — they had the hide to charge $448 per night when it is normally only might be $150 per night.

I was doing an uber eats order when the woman at the receptionist was nosey and asked me what I was doing and even though the numbers were big so I could see the room numbers she was so rude about it toowoomba people don’t mind their own business. The guy on the other hand was super nice and smiled at me need more people like the guy.

To be honest… the bed was comfortable, location is ok. Walking distance to a few shops but you'll need to drive if you require takeaway. Carpark is extremely small. Rooms were serviced daily but coffee/milk wasn't replenished and had to ask daily.

Manager is aggressive and very nasty to guests and staff. A mouse found in another room and cockroaches everywhere. The manager or owner he calls himself should never talk down to and yell at costumers the way he did every day I was there. Do not stay here. Disgusting!

Families — avoid this place.
My family and I had thought it was a nice little place to stay (the rooms are dated, by clean and reasonable).
We had a very NASTY surprise with the staff being so disrespectful towards us. The receptionist was rude about not seeing my physical photo ID (unfortunately, I left my wallet at the shops) and proceeded to ignore me while I was attempting to pull out my digital id by literally walking off and yes, I was asking him something while organising my id. He kept on calling me by a male's name despite seeing my id and also having me pronounce my name multiple times.
Unfortunately, my daughter vomitted on the bedding and we went to the reception staff to get new linen etc. We were told off by the receptionist who said that while the hotel would supply the linen this time, it was up to us to supply new linen next time as the rooms are only cleaned every three days. The receptionist was angry about the matter.
The receptionist dropped off the new linen and after I shut the door, he proceeded to knock on the room door and then tell me that I had slammed the reception door and the room door. He then went onto accuse me of making a scene and that if I didn't like being there, then I should just leave.
I was gobsmacked, I rang the booking agent and cancelled the remainder of the stay. Shout out to the booking agent.
So, if you have any chance of getting sick, don't stay here…
If you have children, don't stay here either.

Beautiful motel, well above expectations. Maybe Toowoomba's best under 400 p/n.
