Abode Mooloolaba, Backpackers & Motel rooms

Hands down one of the best decisions I made while travelling Aus staying in this hostel and everyone there was so nice not just the staff who are all amazing at what they do, stayed there for around 6 months and I wish I stayed longer. Excellent location within walking distance of all the hotspots in and around mooloolaba. Truly wonderful experience and hope to be back there very soon. No bad comments.

Stayed at Mooloolaba while I was interviewing for a job outside of town, the staff were super helpful and the hostel well cleaned and kept. I found that the social aspect was difficult in common areas as a lot of people are living there and it was sort of cliquey. I got along super well with my roommates though, got lucky and made some good friends as I prepared to start working :)

One of my favorite hostels I stayed at in all of OZ! A quick walk to the beach and Coles, people were great, kitchen and shared areas were always clean, and the staff was outstanding! There’s great activities during the week too, including: a Thursday sausage sizzle and a Saturday morning yoga (there’s a few other days of activities as well. The staff is super friendly and will drop everything to help you. The rooms are decent and the shared showers are alright but even if things get a little messy, it’s cleaned before you know it! Can’t say enough good things about my stay here!

I have Stayed in a lot of hostels and this one is definitely one of the better ones! The staff were so friendly and helpful. The place has a really nice friendly atmosphere as came here myself for the first few days but had plenty people come up and chat to me. The room and kitchen were nice and clean and they have a great BBQ which we can all use!

I’ve stayed at many hostels during my road trip, but Abode was by far the best.
The staff were incredibly friendly, and the room conditions were top-notch.
They clean every day, and both the shared kitchen and lounge were always spotless.
Highly recommend this place!

Private room was very spacious, clean and equipped with a TV, Wi-Fi, and air conditioning. Quiet times ensure rooms are quiet when trying to sleep.
Free parking available.
Great location close to beaches, coffee shops, public transport links etc.
Staff were all very friendly.

Really disgustingly dirty rooms. Horrible carpets, brown stains on all the plugs, walls and ceilings and bathroom hair and dust and mould on absolutely every surface. Looks nice and glossy on the common areas and outside then when you get to your room it's totally out of date and grimey. I've stayed at lots of hostels and this was definitely the creepiest.
Aside from this, customer service is fickle. I was advised I could check out earlier to cut my trip shorter and be refunded, then when I came back in the early evening told I was not allowed any more. Wifi doesn't work also.

Lovely private room, kind staff and good location being very close to shops/beach. Aesthetically very pretty too!
My only advice would be not very solo backpacker friendly as it was very cliquey with long term guests usually taking over the majority of the shared areas. We spent most of our stay out of the hostel for this reason.

We stayed one night in a Queen Deluxe room. Great location, everything was nearby & easy to get to. Love the swimming pool. Thank you very much for supplying hand cleaner, shower wash, shampoo & hair conditioner. Shared camp kitchen looked good & was very functional. Very relaxing common areas. Staff were really friendly and accommodating for all our needs. Off-street parking was much appreciated.

I stayed one night in the hostel. It was good. Staff were very helpful and friendly and welcoming. I stayed in room 204 with ensuite. The only complaint I have is that I had to wear ear plugs in order to get to sleep because there was a really loud constant wind or vent noise coming from outside the window. I don’t know what this noise was coming from but it was constant and so made it hard to fall asleep unless I had ear plugs.
Everything else was great, lovely room.

I found this place for a visitor to the Sunshine Coast who I stumbled upon literally. They had a most pleasant stay and reported that their room was amazing, as was the Wi-Fi and staff. When I dropped her off I literally saw a young man cleaning not only the filter of an air-conditioning unit but the front as well, I was most impressed as I believe that demonstrates a level of cleanliness that is above and beyond and what one would expect from any stay but unfortunately does not get. Being the old backpackers I thought the price was a bit steep, but the quality of a private room although reportedly somewhat on the smallish side was worth the money myself. It's not easy to find accommodation on the Sunshine Coast with an hours notice. Good on you Abode for accommodating my new friend. I'll certainly recommend you again! The pool looked absolutely delicious and there was parking on-site.

Slept in a double bed, very clean room. Stayed for 6 six nights and really enjoyed it. The balcony feeling is more relaxing, love it. Staffs were super friendly. Would not hesitate to recommend to someone.

Such a great vibe to this whole place! Super friendly staff and the other guests seemed chill.
Stayed in a deluxe private room and it was lovely! Very clean and comfortable and quite spacious with a tv, Wi-Fi, bathroom with a toilet and shower, small clothes rack, and air conditioning. My only slight complaint is you could hear people in the hallway very clearly, but it didnt bother me that much. The keyless system was also very easy to use!
Great value for money compared to the other options in the area, and a very walkable location to the beach and the wharf. There’s also a bus stop right outside if u prefer public transport. Parking fills up at night but was empty during the day so I would recommend getting a park early before check-in and then walking to the beach or wherever you want to go for the day.
Would definitely stay here again! It was such a great vibe and such good value.

Great Stay at Abode Mooloolaba! **
I recently stayed at Abode Mooloolaba and was really impressed. The unit was clean, comfortable, and had everything I needed. The location is fantastic—just a short walk to the beach and close to local restaurants and shops. The water pressure in the showers was the best I’ve experienced, which made for a great start to the day! For the price, it’s an incredible bargain, offering a lot more than I expected. I’ll definitely stay here again next time I’m in Mooloolaba!

I stayed here for a spontaneous night and was impressed! The staff was super friendly, and check-in was easy. The hostel is clean and recently refurbished, with nice rooms. I stayed in a 4-bed mixed room, which wasn’t cramped and had its own bathroom with amenities. The beds were decent for the price.
They offer free surfboard rentals, which is awesome if you're into surfing 🏄🏽. The kitchen was clean and well-stocked with cookware.

First hostel experience and it wasn’t bad! I stayed in a 4 bed female room and it was okay. I like the curtains and locker storage. Would be nice for a fan in the room or each bed as not everyone enjoys Aircon on. The bathroom did have mould in the grout and on the walls as there is no fan or ventilation. But overall the staff were friendly and it seemed like a social hostel so I would stay again if I’m up in Mooloolaba!
