Absolutely amazing establishment, host Paul very friendly & welcoming. Great chalets, tranquil/serene atmosphere, wildlife friendly & well equipped kitchen. I'd highly recommend a stay here. We've even booked our next getaway here & can't wait to return.
Very relaxing place to chill out. Good for the soul. Everything you need in the room. Great cooking facilities and good sized fridge for all of your supplies. Bird seed is supplied to you so you can enjoy nature coming to your front deck. Very central to all the main walks in the area which are all worth the walk and energy. This was only my second visit in 12 years, and the setting is just as beautiful as I remembered. The environment is stunning, with birds and possums regularly coming onto the deck, which is such a special experience. There is also a lovely walking track from the chalets to the Apple Tree tracks, which we really enjoyed.
The cabins themselves haven’t changed much over the years. One small suggestion would be to look at ways to bring in more natural light, as the kitchen and lounge areas were quite dark during the day and we needed to use the lights.
I’ve taken one star off mainly due to cleanliness of some of the windows. The view from the spa is gorgeous, but the window was quite dirty, as were the sliding glass doors and the round mezzanine window in the lounge. With such a beautiful outlook, clean windows would really make a difference.
Paul was friendly and welcoming, and it was nice chatting with him. I was a little surprised that he didn’t know the names of some of the birds that visit or that foods like bread and Jatz biscuits aren’t ideal for birds, especially as birds are such a feature of the property. It would be wonderful if this could be included as part of the guest experience, as the wildlife is clearly a highlight of staying there.
Overall, it’s a peaceful and beautiful place to stay, and with a few small improvements it could be even better.
