Beautiful stay in amazing rainforest. Wonderful way to reconnect with nature. Birds are so friendly! Amazing walks for all levels of ability. Really recommend the Brush Box Circuit. Only disappoint was the accommodation: we had upgraded — at quite an expense — from a regular hotel room to a „valley-view villa“. Sadly, there was no view at all, not so much because we were quite „low down on the slope“ but because it was totally overgrown. I feel we should have at least been warned beforehand when we changed. Turns out, some of the hotel rooms had a much better view. Don’t stay in villa 20 if you want a view!

The staff were helpful and so lovely all of the time. Magical place and well maintained.

First time staying up at O’reillys. We stayed in the mountain villa which was amazing. Beautiful view and view quite. Did the spa which was amazing. Thank Jess and Jessica :) however, few issues with the room: the pots and pans are quite old and very hard to clean when used, the knifes need a serious up grade or a dam good sharpen, and no privacy when you use the spa (old couple next to us kept staring which is creepy) we also did the glow worms which was great and the hikes up here are amazing. Thank you guys for an amazing weekend for my birthday 🎉

So relaxing. You can do as much or as little as you want. Wonderful friendly, helpful staff. Loved the bird watch tour. Will be back.

Had a relaxing stay at O’Reilly’s. Would recommend to all. Lots of activities for all the family. Great hiking trails and many different birds, up close. Highlight was the ‘Birds of Prey’. Rooms were lovely and clean with the view of the valley that goes on for miles.

The staff at OReilleys are warm and welcoming. The accomodation is very comfortable, tranquil and has spectacular views. The food is superb. The birdlife is amazing. We love how interactive the rosellas and king parrots are there. The well laid out and well signed walks make exploring the surrounding green mountains a joy. We highly recommend you spend a minimum of 2 nights there to relax and rejuvenate.

I celebrated my 50 th birthday here with my family and friends. It was so special we stayed in a cabin for 2 nights lived in the spa. Had drinks and dinner around the open firepit. Got some amazing sunset photos next to the plane. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. I woke up to a complimentary bottle of vino and 2 giasses one afternoon. I so want to return with my daughters for a mummy daughter get away.

The place is great. The food is lovely and there is plenty of it. Everyone is very friendly and helpful.
We were here 12 years ago and did several walks but it rained the whole time so it’s better when it is dry. Thoroughly recommend the place.

The Villas are very private and comfortable. The staff at the resort are all very friendly I have not had such good service. I also experienced the best massage I have ever had at the lost world spa! and there are so many beautiful walks and activities like bird feeding. High recommend Mark who holds the birds of pray show, very interactive and you get a great close look at each bird.

We stay for 3 night in mountain view studio and it was clean and very comfortable for 2 people and room got service every morning and we got free buffet breakfast, morning tea and afternoon tea which was amazing. Staff were super friendly and helpful. We love using infinity pool, spa and sanua especially after doing big hikes during the day.
Great place to unplug and get away from busy lifestyle and relax and enjoy all beautiful aspects of Lamington NP.
We will be coming back and recommending it to friends and family as place to go and stay.

We stayed in a 3 bedroom villa with 6 people and had a fabulous time. Cabin was great, fully self contained, had almost everything you could want (exception being at least one full length mirror for a group of 6 women), amazing views, fire place, great spa on verandah, quiet and serene. Restaurant had good food and large servings. Highly recommend.

We had a fabulous 2 night stay. Beautiful accommodation, spectacular scenery, walking tracks with an abundance of wildlife, very quiet & peaceful. Met fellow travelers from all over the world. The staff went out of their way to look after guests. Highly recommended for all ages.

My husband and I went here on the 6th May-10th for our honeymoon. We had the best time! It is absolutely beautiful and all the staff are fantastic and friendly! We enjoyed kyles sense of humour when we went to dinner on the monday night and our glow worm experience with Duncan on the Wednesday night. All the reception and bar staff were great! It is really the place to be to relax and explore and to see some amazing waterfalls. Absolutely beautiful place! We stayed in a rainforest villa and it was amazing. We loved the spa and the air con for heating on the cooler nights and the gas fire to keep us warm and it gave off a real relaxing feel. Will definitely come back again in the future. Couldn’t be any happier! ❤️

Had a wonderful time here. Rooms were clean and very well looked after. Dimming lights in the bed room. A hot tub and a sauna. The walking tracks were fantastic, very peaceful and we got a packed lunch which was awesome. Only downside is the dinner menu was too small — no chicken schnitzels :0 and the staff we spoke to weren't very knowledgeable on the tracks we wanted to walk so had to figure it out ourselves. Thank you for a wonderful time! :)

Beautiful place to stay over with loved ones. My husband and I stayed for 2 nights at the mountain view room and the view is stunning. They also offer some activities during the day. There is jacuzzi and infinity pools available for hotel guests however, ashamed that its not heated so we are unable to use it during winter. Buffet breakfast was disappointing. All the food were cold and we were not even late for breakfast. We came at 9am and all danishes were gone and food were cold. But dinner was tasty but expensive. Other than those drawbacks, we will definitely come back for weekend gateaway. We live in Brisbane so its not too far to come here.

Went here with the family on the show day holiday. Kids had a great time and loved feeding the birds. The tree tops walk was leisurely and easy going on the board walk and suspension bridges. The tree climb was fun and my 6yo could handle the ladders easily. Drive up was pretty average due to lots of roadworks.

Celebrated my birthday over the weekend at o’reillys retreat and loved every minute (it was my birthday present) we stayed in room 72 we had an incredible view from our room so if your looking at staying here I highly recommend room 72! It’s 2 bed room.
The only thing that disappointed me was that when we went to feed the wild birds is that they weren’t very hungry so only 1 came down. But other then that it was an amazing relaxing stay! Where definitely coming back (we even saw a wild owl! )

This is a really good and beautiful resort. There's so much to do and see with a cool selection of tour's, walks, hikes and natural gardens. on the way to please take caution driving on the road parts of it are 1 way and is pretty narrow. I would recommend to bring your own food during your stay because the convince store are pretty pricey for what they are actually worth. But do take in mind that it is pretty difficult to get supplies to here hence the price.

Our second holiday here. We have stayed in the villas both times. Love the rooms and the views, the only tour we did this time was the 4wd tour with Duncan, if you do a tour make sure he’s the guide. Our only issues this time is lack of menu options for dinner, a simple steak, chips and salad would be perfect. Staff issues at dinner time every night is the same. Tonight we watched a family of 4 with kids ask to order more than 5 times, staff responses were “give me two minutes” This was after numerous attempts to order our own meals. It wasn’t too busy but it’s a common theme we have found on both our stays. Either have more staff on or train them to approach the customer. Prices are high for food as numerous others have said.

We thoroughly enjoyed our 2 nights there. We had a special lamb dinner for 2 in the dining room and we're very happy with the meal and service. Reception and Dining staff were friendly and attentive. Our room was a mountain view room and we were not disappointed. There is a family history at this place that makes it special and interesting.

Worth the drive. Amazing views and the tree top walk really interesting. Beautiful birds. I imagine it would be worth staying over night.

Love this place for a day drive, wend away at lodge, camping and unbelievable bush walking. I use this as a base for all my bush related activities on the mountain. Environmental interaction and activities for all levels. Beginner to expert. One hour trails to 8 day walks. The lodge and accomodation are fantastic with great meals and cumfy. Staff extremely friendly and helpful. Would recommend a day or a stay of any length in a heart beat.

I had a lovely weekend and stayed in a mountain view room. The room was clean, tidy, spacious with beautiful views. The heater was only needed night one for few hours. I loved the Birds of Prey show. We brought our own food so enjoyed the BBQ area. We didn't get to do everything we wanted so next Winter will book the mountain spa villa which looks pretty spectacular. The staff were friendly and I have to say, the resort seemed organised in all their activities and cleaning matters. There was a super rude guest having a go at one of the young ladies at reception, and I think people should realise, a place like this has old charm, has history and you are going to get what you pay for. I didn't see one delivery truck and the roads to get there are terrible so I knew if I wanted super fresh food, to bring my own. If you book a budget room, expect it. It is a remote location, intended for a adventurous weekend of exploring and nature, so fork up if you want the 5 star… it is for all budgets… camping to 5 star…

Nice restaurant with great coffee and a good selection of pastries and cakes. Self service as is the way in Australia. Great view from the top so well worth a visit. Decor could be spruced up a bit to make it warm and cosy but all in all its good.

We stayed in a Mountain View Room with parking underneath. No tv's but we had good reception on our phones. Enjoyed the hot spa after a long hike. The morning Bird walk was good and the Tree Top Walk a must. We also did the walk to The Wishing Tree. I recommend doing the Segway Tour too.

We just spent one night in a Mountain View room at the retreat after attending a wedding ceremony in the gully and reception in the confrence centre. Positives: The staff were friendly. The view was out of this world, the food was delicious and the communication from the staff was great, they were very accommodating. Needs some work:…
The rooms! I am ok with basic rooms but it was absolutely freezing this weekend and our room had a tiny oil heater that did not even take the edge off. I fee like all the focus of O'Reilly's is on the Villas and the main retreat area has been left behind, you can have basic but still have a comfortable, clean, designed space. The rooms do not match the price tag as I have travelled and would not pay anymore that $59 a night for that standard. Mould in the bathrooms is unacceptable, it can and does make people sick. Our drain in the bathroom sink look liked it had not been cleaned in weeks. Parking was ridiculous especially after checking out and wanting to walk around we drove around with no luck so we left. I definitely had a sense that there was no connection with the entire facility and that the retreat was simply still being used jist because it was there. You are charging people enough money maybe start putting it back into the top rooms. I won't return in a hurry which is a shame as it could be a very spectacular stay but for me heating and mould just push me under the line.

It is many years since we had stayed at Oriellys with our young family who now shouted us a two night stay in one of the Valley view villas — exceptionally presented, quality and clean accommodation with great view. The breakfast buffet is one of the best we have enjoyed and reminded us of the 5 star Borneo Rainforest lodge and was just what is needed before a long walk. The enormous seafood board for two at dinner was a treat and the dining room and reception staff are a delight. It is tremendous to see this long standing family business in a world class tourist area continuing to raise the standards.

O'Reilly's is looking very dated and worn and needs a makeover, some paint and some TLC. It's hardly worth driving all the way there just for the cafe which is like any cafeteria you can visit anywhere in Australia. I'm sure that the rooms are nice and the trails are amazing. You'll be better off visiting the skywalk.

O’Reilly’s Mountain Top Retreat provided accomodation and transport for our wedding based at their vineyard counterpart in the Canungra Valley. Save for some issues with communication with the bookings team when reserving and paying for rooms, our experience was very positive. The villas were spectacular and had everything you could want. Our canopy suite made for the best possible honeymoon suite for our first two nights as a married couple — finding the fire place made up with wood and kindling ready to light each night is an extra touch that we loved! Staff were happy to provide a refund when we couldn’t attend breakfast, and were accommodating of our bridal party appearing in dribs and drabs. Thank you O’Reilly’s!

Wildlife experience was great — birds, possums and a dingo. Awesome. Room — we had awesome 2 bedroom rainforest cabin number 73. Awesome views, spa in our room, kids were downstairs, we were upstairs. Clean, spacious, great. Food — this is what lacks. Dinner wasn't awesome but breakfast was atleast better. Bit pricey on items at mini mart too. Staff — not the best in the restaurant. We waited all the time to be seated, to be served, to get a menu, list goes on. Wildlife staff were great though and the birds of prey show was awesome. Bird walk guy was great too. We had wood for the fire but not enough small stuff to get it going and the paper was damp too.
I've done it now but won't be back.
If the staff and food were better though it would've been different.
My pet hate was the breakfast time.
7.30am start.
That's WAY too bloody late. Especially for kids and elderly folks. That's a huge issue that should be reviewed.
Had a great time and glad we did it.
Just get a good cabin as the other places around reception looked very pokey indeed.

Thank you Brandon and staff for your warm hospitality. We stayed 2 nights and definitely will come back. We enjoyed the early morning bird walk with Rob, glow worm tour, bird show and bush walking.

The Lamination national Park is spectacular, although the last 30kms up the mountain road is a bit hairy with the one way sections and roadworks. The walks around the retreat are exciting and a lot of fun. All of the staff were very friendly and went out of their way to make us feel welcome. The room didn't seem to have been refreshed since the 80's and whilst it had a trundle bed, that we requested, it was so old that it was unusable. My young daughter shared the big bed with me for 3 nights. The room had spectacular views, but wasn't well maintained or overly clean, with the bathroom and carpets needing a proper clean and vacuum. The coffee cups and glasses were also dirty and barely rinsed clean from their previous use. I had to clean these all again myself. We didnt spend a lot of time in room, so this wasn't the end of the world for us, however it detracted from the experience. Food and drink prices are very overpriced and on a par with what I'd expect to pay at a top gold coast resort, but not an older resort like this one. This made the trip very expensive, even though I brought some food along. Management need to consider that average families stay there and can't afford theses prices when there are no other options available. We loved roasting marshmallows, Swimming in the pool, doing the meet the animals show and other activities.

This would have to be the most relaxing place on the Gold Coast. If you want to forget about the hustle along the beach then go here. The drive up to O'Reilly's is amazing. You will be shocked at the diversity from leaving the coast and finishing at O'Reilly's. The tunnel of rainforest trees for the 20 minutes drive is something special. Don't be in a hurry as the drive is slow due to the twists and turns but the view on the way up the mountain is incredible. Highly recommend staying for at least one night. The walks are great and the scenery is absolutely beautiful. If you haven't been then stop everything and make a booking right now. Staff, food and wildlife are all fantastic. Don't forget to stop at the O'Reilly's winery at the start of the drive and try the free wine tasting.

Nice rooms, but they feel lived in. Long drive, but worth it? We went there with a toddler she was interested, but not enough to make it better than a couples weekend. View was great watching sunset over the hills. Best sunset I've seen in Oz.

We stayed here for 2 nights. The scenery and wildlife are stunning but unfortunately our room was disgusting. Our doona had a large and old bloodstain on it. Our bathroom had mould all over 3 of the walls (not the shower but the actual walls). There was a large ants nest in the bathroom light. The little bar fridge did not work, we had purchased some milk and snacks etc for our kids from the Mountain Cafe to keep in there and it went off due to the fridge temperature not being cold. There is no air con and only ceiling fans (which I am fine with) but no screens on the window so you cannot open it to let in fresh air due to midges and mosquitos coming in. When I brought up these complaints I was just told "sorry". There was no recompense or anything. It is real shame that the room was so filthy as we really enjoyed the bushwalking and wildlife but would not stay here again.

We only made a day trip but loved the location of the resort, the hiking trails and the many birds.

The O'Reilly's rainforest retreat is one of the places you need to go to if you want to be nearby. The Tree top Walk, the mountain gardens, the birds that feed you out of your hand or the story to O'Reilly's, this excursion I can only recommend to anyone.

Hi, we arrived early and managed an awesome bird feeding with parrots and Rosellas, a tree top walk and a sauna (me) /spa (dad and kids) and swim, all before our room available. Afternoon tea and morning tea was included, which was a nice touch. Don't expect too much from the rooms. Sometimes part of the mountain view is blocked by other rooms and maintenance a little slack (due for a deep clean/refresh of wet areas). There is a kids club available morning and evening (costs extra) but worth it for a break. Happy hour at the bar starts at 4pm!

Fantastic place, connecting to a fantastic park such as the Lamington National Park. Excursions are most recommended, the park recreation areas are superbly managed by the O'Reily's teams, and make of this place a champion in its domain. Breakfasts served at the hotel are magnificent, staff is pleasant and professional. Two areas for improvement are surely the bar zone — where dining can become laborious for the long waiting time — and room cleaning, the latter also due to the intense turnover of clients, possibly.

Worst holiday experience. Cleaning staff entered our room when we were out to prepare it for the next guest when we were to check out the following day. Terrible service, completely unacceptable and unprofessional. I would never recommend O’Reilly’s. My stay was a 21st birthday gift and we had a broken fridge and ended up losing all of our cold items and it took a day to get fixed. We were promised a food hamper to replace our perished items and we waited 3 hours before we had to call reception and ask for it because we had planned to go on a picnic to one of the nearby waterfalls and our day was wasted. The worst part of all was when we returned from our picnic, we found a van in our car space and we were told that they were preparing our villa for the next guest when we didn’t check out until the next day. They also provided incorrect pricing on their food and drinks list inside our villa and everything ended up being significantly more expensive. We felt that because of our age we were treated poorly. Absolutely appalling.

Beautiful location. Staff very well trained and helpful especially Shona and Michaela in the restaurant. Few things not up to scratch, spa treatment and massage while wedding taking place downstairs, very noisy and no prior notification from spa staff. Some food at restaurant was over cooked and over priced. (Feedback given). Hot tub at villa is on balcony out in the cold with no robes nor privacy screen to the neighbouring villas. Room compendium says happy hour finishes at 6:30, bar says 6, which is it?

Very long Ride but Amazing view. The walk and birds also look cool. The only problem was the burgers. 3/10 (Was dry. More sauce plz) Beside that. Great.

The location is the most beautiful they have blended the villas in to the side of the rainforests mountain which does it justice with minimal amount of intrusion. The staff could not do enough for you. Tours were great, Wildlife shows were unreal and views from villas were spectacular. All in all it was the best time I have had in a long time. I loved it and would do it again if I had a chance.

Great place, plenty of activities to do. Great place for bird watching. Fantastic staff even when you're not staying at the resort. The resort dining room is open to non staying guests also. Open for breakfast, lunch and dinner.

The drive up to the resort has been badly damaged by Cyclone Debbie, almost a year ago. There is a blanket ban on vehicles over 6 tons, due to massive landslips which precludes the tourist buses which previously were the economic lifeblood of the mountain. A number of years ago, the resort was taken over by Japanese interests and almost all front-line staff are now Japanese on short term visas, with varying degrees of english fluency. The landscape, the wildlife and the views are all stunning and well worth a visit!

It is a marvelous place to go and relax in the mountains, whether it's for a romantic getaway with your partner or as a family holiday. The atmosphere is great and the staff here are so friendly. You are made to feel part of the family and and the service is second to none. I would happily recommend it to anyone.

Fantastic. Great staff. Lovely meals. Went for a couples massage, best we have ever had. Meet a lot of the locals. Wild life. Did a bird walk was great, and local wallaby just glanced at us as we walked by. Highly recommended it.

Wife and I had a romantic retreat late July 2017 — great weather except freezing cold (and inadequate room heater) but I agree with other reviews it would be a poor experience if it was raining. Tour guide Glen is great. Birds of prey show and bird feeding are great. Wi-Fi is fiddly but acceptable. Food is good but pricey and there are no nearby alternatives, which is all understandable but I recommend you bring some food with you.

The scenery is beautiful and every service person is very friendly.
The nearby Tree-top trails are very distinctive and the shops also offer parrot feeds ($. 5), feed a take out, relatives and lively parrot will be the whole flight to stop to people, is really a great experience.
In addition, a cup of coffee sitting in the cafe, the view of the balcony outside the invincible scenery is also an unforgettable good scenery.
However, to get here, we have to drive a very long steep and curved narrow road, and many sections are only one lane wide, and special attention must be paid to driving carefully.

Very beautiful. The accommodation choices are well detailed and affordable. Several cafes and dinning options. Guided tours and animal shows. Staff are ready to help and fulfill most of every need. Would recommend to any age group and for any special occasion.

Absolutely loved our stay. Splashed out and got the 2 bed villa with spa bath — view incredible, spa bath on deck the best! We'd jump out and run inside to the amazing gas fire place with realistic looking logs! My 3 year old loved it and fell asleep in front of the fire both nights. Brekky was so good. Homemade muesli, homemade pancakes and porridge with delicious jams and accompaniments as well as great hot food and home made baked beans. Staff lovely and we loved all the activities — bird of prey show, glow worm tour and meet our native animals — really lovely place ❤️

Location is beautiful, wonderfully set in the mountains of Lamington National Park. The cabins are nicely fitted with modern bathrooms. However, full kitchen facilities would be beneficial. The only option to eat main meals is at the slightly overpriced restaurant.

It's quite the drive to get to O'Reillys, the windy roads up the mountain are both exciting and daunting. Even without staying at the retreat itself, it's an amazing place to spend a day out. From the gorgeous views to the treetop boardwalk to the multitude of hikes, the landscape and scenery are a pleasure to immerse yourself in.

What a gorgeous place! The views are a dream. Nice weather permitting, this is easily one of the most beautiful places in southern Queensland. Be aware that it gets very, very cold at night/in the morning.

We went on a Thursday and it wasn't too busy — the drive up has spectacular views so don't sleep in the car! There are plenty of parking spots so don't worry about missing out either. Bring some warm clothes because the area is considerably cooler than the bay at the same time of the year. We started off with lunch at the Cafe and was served by a very polite, Japanese lady. Wonderful service! The Mountain Burger and the sliders were tasty as and the hot chocolate was good too. The views were overlooking the mountain so if we didn't have anything else to do, we would have sat there all day. We then made our way into the bird feeding area and were met with King Parrots and Crimson Rosellas. Being illegal to bring seed into a national park, bird seed is available at the shop and come in trays. Bring one of these up and the birds will land on any available space you have on your body. Long/thick sleeves will prevent scratches from their feet! The Birds of Prey show can NOT be missed. Mark, the host obviously loves his job and cares about the birds, which is shown through the handling of them and the knowledge he brings. From owls to falcons, he brings them out one at a time and lets them roam around the audience for a truly up close and memorable experience. Photos of the birds on your gloved hand are also available after the show. The walks were exciting too — we went on the Treetop and Moran Falls.

Crap road to get there. Awesome rainforest walks. Awesome villas. Pay the extra money for the villas. Glow worm tour overpriced but still pretty good.

Wonderful tree top walk. It's thrilling and scenic from the top. The tree climbing is really scary but thrilling.

The retreat is located within the national park, not too much signage. Maybe a bit too pricey for the quality of the rooms, but there's plenty to do and see. We attended a function at the centre there, the retreat should definitely organise a lift/bus between the two spots as the walking path late at night is too far, and pretty average.

We stayed at O'Reillys for two nights in a mountain view room with the autumn sale from their website. Whilst the room itself could certainly have used a freshen up, the primary reason for our stay was the surrounds, and for that, we weren't disappointed. From the moment we checked in the service was impeccable. The views from both the upstairs bar and our room were incredible and made it easy to forego a television. Food is limited to the dining options offered by O'Reillys unless you being your own, but we found it to be reasonably priced for what you got. The bar offered a much more casual dining option whilst the restaurant something more formal. We didn't get a chance to try the mountain cafe. We found the wildlife encounters and birds of prey shows to be really well presented and a fantastic opportunity to learn some more about the native animals local to the area. Overall we had a fantastic getaway and would definitely recommend to others as well as return for another experience.

Lamington / Green Mountains are lovely and deserve 4 or 5 star. The cafe at O'Reillys is another story. Kids meal for example is $13.50 for a small plate of chips and 5 dried out nuggets. We went 2x before and the other 2 options were just as bad — the sliders for kids are AWFUL and very dried out. The other adult food options are at best average BUT the prices are high… Try $19 approx for burger and chips. The basic pizzas are $22. Honestly you would do better to bring some nice quality food from home and have a picnic or bbq (there are a few facilities and some grassed areas with some seats. Bring a picnic blanket as well perhaps. To summarize, they take advantage of the remoteness with the prices. At least if we are going to be overcharged make it good food — and remember the kids deserve decent too. At least if it was good food the experience would be bitter sweet rather than just bitter. I hope this review warns people before they make the long winding drive to the top. Bring plenty of your own food and drinks and you'll most likely have. A much nicer day :)

Absolute waste of time. The organisation does not deserve to be custodians of this magical place. The staff were rude, food terrible and the place completely over priced. Save your money and stay at home. The room also needs a good clean and maintenance.

Fantastic views, awesome walks in the Lamington National Park. Louise Harvey and I stayed in the Mountain Views guest house and were absolutely disappointed. Our room was very run down paint rubbed off walls and dirty, the ensuite was in a poor state of repair with peeling paint, rust in the shower cubical and smelly toilet area. Very unpleasant… needed a complete renovation. For $300 per night you feel ripped off. Thank goodness for the views.

Only went to the Cafe, but it was still fairly average. The vegetarian option for the burger was very basic and consisted of a patty, sweet potato crisps and an avocado sauce. Very nice lookout and lovely fauna around.

Our stay were all fantastic except those houesekeeping staff cleaned up the room next door which just checked out, bang everything, floor & blinds in our room were shaken, thought it was earthquake, couldnt speak english too, unbelieveable. What a rough workers.
