Fantastic stay at Kernow. Clean rooms, peaceful environment, and top-quality service. Couldn’t ask for better. Highly recommend to anyone visiting Charters Towers.

A superb experience started with the welcome from Vanessa, who took time to explain the facilities and the secure gate entry. Our Poolside Terrace was beautifully comfortable, spacious and gloriously cool on the hottest day. The kitchen included every piece of equipment you could possibly need; and the entire apartment was spotlessly clean. A lot of accommodation providers could take a leaf out of the owner's book on how to manage a property, and offer quality of this standard. To make it even better, there was a cold drink waiting for us in the pool fridge — it seems like a small gesture but illustrates how much the owners value their guests. We were very happy to have chosen Kernow for our visit to Charters Towers.

What an unexpected surprise! A planned overnight stop between Mackay and Undara turned into 2 nights of luxury at Kernow Charters Towers. The accommodation itself was first class, so private and quiet. There was a lovely pool to relax in after long hours on the road and Vanessa was right on the money by telling us everything we needed to know both on site and in town, for our thoroughly enjoyable stay in Charters Towers. We look forward to returning to Kernow on a next trip heading north-west!

What a unique and fabulous spot.
We enjoyed two nights at Kernow in a well-appointed apartment.
We were really impressed by how spacious the apartment was and the range of breakfast supplies.
Our apartment had a washing machine and dryer which were handy and a lovely outlook over the pool.
We were on a 3-week trip around outback QLD and this stay was one of our favourite stays along the way.

From the moment I called to book to the moment I left the gate, this place and the service was lovely. Quiet, clean and cozy… everything you need! I even asked for my room to be made ‘romantic’ and I was not disappointed 🌹

The Kernow Charters Towers is a wonderful place to stay.
We stayed there Saturday night 21 June 2025. Arrived earlier than expected and Les, an Owner, accommodated us. Great place for either short stay or long stay. Rooms are big, the complex is first class.
Our third stay here and we will be back.

Just an amazing place to stay. The owners are very friendly and passionate about what they are doing; they genuinely care that you have a good time. The apartments were extremely clean, neat & stocked with amenities able to be used free of charge. Food for breakfast was already provided upon arrival & ready to be made for the next morning using room facilities (bread, yoghurt, cereal, juice, milk). The apartment was very spacious and beautifully decorated. Extremely comfortable beds and each room has air conditioning & fans. Extra blankets are already provided if needed in a cupboard. TV’s in every room with Netflix able to be used free of charge. Everything is well-planned and everything you could need is at your disposal. The resort is safe, quiet and calm and offers many things to do for no extra charge (tennis, 24/7 gym with table tennis & pool and ALSO an actual pool with free beverages just outside your room + more to come). The highlight for me was being able to walk through the yet to be renovated old Mossman hall building. It was a beautiful piece of history and so exciting to be able to step into it. Overall, this is the best place to stay in Charters (honestly in Queensland) and well-worth it. Will definitely be returning. Highly highly recommend!

I had no real idea when I booked what to expect. The property is being so well transformed into luxury accommodation with the pieces not yet finished making no difference to your stay. The units were spacious, very well appointed and stocked with a nice breakfast as well as everything else you need on your stay. Staying in so many air bnb’s, I felt bad that they came into our apartment and made our bed! Maybe a card you could put out for those of us who don’t need that and would be happy to collect our breakfast each day from Reception.

Stayed at Kernow for a school reunion weekend and it was so lovely. Rooms and beds super comfy. Vanessa the host was very attentive and nothing was a problem. A real bonus that no kids are allowed. Will certainly be returning. Thanks Vanessa.

Love our time at Kernow. Rooms were super clean, comfortable bed, continental breakfast provided, nice touches all around. A quiet, nice place to relax and to have a good sleep after sightseeing Charters Towers. Vanessa, the host, was warm, friendly, and did everything to make our stay such a perfect one. And as an amateur photographer, had a blast taking pictures at night. A 10/10 stay. Thanks so much.

By far the best place to stay in regional QLD! I stay here every time of come to the Towers, and have been doing so for many years. Vanessa & Les are the most amazing hosts — they always communicate well, with a smile and make me feel so welcome, sometimes even with a cold can in hand on arrival.
Les has some great tips for some meals in town too. The rooms are impressive — clean, serviced and comfy.

Stayed here on a work trip and was more than impressed. Service is top notch and the rooms are stunning! All the amenities of a 5 star resort and accommodation to match. If your ever in Charters Towers The Kernow is the only place to stay, will be back with the Mrs for sure. 👌

We booked a room during the floods in Feb 2025.
We were lucky to get a room. If you want royal treatment, this is the place. You are treated with utmost respect. Nothing is too hard. Large Quiet Traquill property grassland and lots of room, yet a few minutes from town.
We loved this place and will return.

We arrived later than expected but Les set us at ease with his warm welcome. Once we’d negotiated the front gate and been escorted into the property, our positive first impressions were confirmed by the clean, spacious apartment. We knew immediately Kernow fit the bill perfectly for our Christmas getaway — a launch pad for adventure and fun and a cool, comfortable place to return to for respite and relaxation.
You, like us, must have booked accommodation where you infuriatingly can’t find an ice cube to save your life; and even if there was a knife capable of cutting into a tomato, the only serving bowl is made for cereal? Or perhaps you’ve experienced the frustration of not being able to wash a pan because the only cleaning implement is the size of a postage stamp? Or the ignominy of having to fill the kettle from the shower rose because it won’t fit under the kitchen tap? Let me assure you Kernow is NOT such a place!
Thoughtfully and elegantly appointed, there’s nothing that left us wanting, inside or out. The complex is as vast and intriguing as its history suggests and we enjoyed exploring it, although missed the gymnasium (despite our best intentions)! Les and Vanessa were consummate hosts, unobtrusive yet accessible and amenable. We came for two nights, stayed for four and can’t wait to come back!

Loved the extra activities at the gym such as table tennis and pool. Beautiful swimming pool area with free drinks and wine. Their cleaning services are superb and they made sure we enjoyed our stay. It's my third time staying there and I definitely recommend for getaway trip.

The accomodation itself is gorgeous.
The facilities are fantastic as well, the pool area is lovely, the gym’s great with weights, a Bullard’s table, table tennis and even a driving range, and there’s a lovely walking track just behind the driving range too.
