Our reception is open from 8AM - 9PM. You can check in at 2PM. If you arrive after 9pm please inform reception beforehand so they can prepare your late check in. We use GOKI for our door locks & we highly recommend to download the GOKI App before you arrive.
Mad Monkey Waterfront is located directly on the Cairns Esplanade with all the bars, restaurants, shops, The Reef Terminal and the Night Markets just within a short walking distance. Cairns Lagoon is just across the road with Free Access.If arriving by Plane, we highly recommend you book a taxi or an Uber. We’re only a fifteen-minute drive away from the airport. Bus: Mad Monkey Waterfront is located only a 5-minute walk distance from the Greyhound and Premier Bus services. Train: The main Train station is only a 10 min walk away.
We offer all types of accommodation, from Mixed Dorms Ensuite to Female Dorms Ensuite and Private Double Rooms. We have high-quality mattresses, pillows and linen which is included for a comfortable night’s sleep. All our dorms have a private en-suite bathroom and all our private rooms come with personal towels, otherwise our reception team is more than happy to assist you with a towel hire in case you forgot one. All our rooms are Air-Conditioned & All our bunk beds are equipped with personal USB ports & power sockets to make sure you can comfortably scroll through your new travel pictures from bed.

Boked in Tuesday 7th Till 9th Dec 2021 At Bayswater. Check in was not till 2pm. They arranged for room early. As just arrived off the night train. 10.30am. Id really recommend this place. Wasnt there much as was at hospital 10min walk From early morn till late evening. Beds comfy. (King private room. ) Rooms and bathrooms clean. Very friendly staff and people staying there. Thank you.
I contacted Stacey who works at mad monkey waterfront to help me arrange an east coast tour. She went above and beyond helping to book everything and would always reply straight away when I had any questions about anything. Also a few of our tours got cancelled due to Covid issues and Stacey straight away re booked other tours for us and refunded the price difference as well. Could not of been more helpful would definitely book with Stacey again!

Wont let you stay if over 35, but won’t refund money paid for stay either. Not only is it not stated clearly that this is a ‘rule’ to warn you from booking, it’s also ageism and discrimination. Will be taking this further to fair trade, was told ‘go and try, no one has succeeded with that’. Well you wait. Very unfriendly and unprofessional staff. As an experienced backpacker, I’d recommend you spend your money elsewhere.
